Looks like it is still possible to have a customer get stuck after leaving the shop... Not sure what he's stuck on, but he's forgotten to get the hell out....

He's in the middle of the road between shop and exit - and as long as he's there, no more customers.

Should probably attach 3 additional timers to them.

"spawn"

"Timer 1 - Reach the shop" a short timer that prevents them from not reaching the shop

"Time 2 - initiate at shop" (standard/already present)

"Timer 3 - Started when spawned" - A backup timer that looks to ensure they start timer 2 - If timer two doesn't initiate, timer three will remain running, and eventually despawn them

"Timer 4 - Insurance" - A backup for all of them. a long timer that cannot be overruled except by a new customer being spawned - This timer will be excessively long compared to the others to ensure they get the hell off the map. Long enough for the slowest possible walk into the shop, the entirety of the longest customer order-timer, and a bit of change for slow exit of shop, So that maybe a minute or two more than /all of that/ it despawns them

Bug updates. Looks like there's a specific small window if you close the shop after a customer - that they're no able to recover from.

My guess is....

Directly at the shop - there's an NPC correction path

But once on the road, there's not an NPC correction path existing outside of the path-proper - Thus, there's no pathing for them and they're dismissed from being a customer, so they stop using the customer exit pathing or something....

So if they're right by your fence, and not yet on the road, Do not Close shop you should probably wait to close shop when you can verify they've despawned, or while the other is spawning - as I imagine there's a fair bit of "NPC correction" on the main road they walk until they get to the shop - because you can at any point, close shop, and it makes the most sense for the correction to exist there, as they will guaranteedly be on that path for a good majority of their existence._____________

Geoff and Stealing.

Turns out. If you steal, currently, They forget they're stolen on reload (**** At least they do if they're in your shop)

I had a pile of stolen handles I kept near the forge for my own tools because of the earlier stealing experiments. But when I ran into the Shop customer pathing error earlier, I had to, unfortunately, reload, no choice, which was not what I wanted to do.

Unfortunately. I'm going to have to again pretty much immediately, because on day 8, I finally got one of the customers to demand from me an Adamantine Sword - And I was like Wooo, Express rich! GET OUT OF HERE YOU SCAMP :D (he wanted a shield too, But I ignored that and dismissed him after the sword.)

Hastily once he was out of my door way, I closed and then bought three new adamantine ingots and made a pick, where I saw the stolen handles were no longer stolen, all of them, not just one stray that could've been excused as a handle that got knocked over there.

You may be wondering, or may not if you remember my earlier bug findings... How did a customer request adamantine.

Well.

I got an adamantine ingot, and a steel ingot, from the secret loot chest. - and then when I had to reload - I got another adamantine ingot... oh and another steel but at that point that didn't matter.

Earlier before the reload I'd managed to sell enough for /one/ tin ingot. Which I promptly scrapped together with a copper ingot, and gave myself 2 bronze ingots to make a new hammer with, and was biding my time waiting for someone to ask for a dagger or an adamantine dagger - which then escalated to an adamantine sword when I got the second ingot.

ANYWAY....Stealing just became a matter of reloading and then its duper easy.

_______________

Also side note, we'll see in the next reload. But it looks like the sword pedestal's shield will remain iron/whatever if it isn't in the shop's radius on reload....

Or maybe it was because of me tampering with it that it became permanent....

I took it home and since I had 1 steel and 1 adamantine, I obviously tried to make a boss out of those and attach it to it, which worked.... to attach it... but it basically has no identity. It just shows up as "Adamantine" or "Steel" no shield, etc.

The Boss can be re-detached at that point and it'll go back to be unnamed entirely. - Usually when it is left unnamed entirely and reload, it changed to copper, where the handles could also be knocked off, but not the rim, and it still wouldn't understand what the shield was

Oh.

_____________

Smelter bug, user error

______

when you toss items into the smelter, they can creater ores, which can be grabbed and dragged out of the smelter if the smelter isn't "up to heat" - They won't generally make ores if the smelter is already cooking at "smelting" heat.

Anyway. If for instance. You have  a STEEL boss that you turn the smelter on for, and while its heating up, take the steel ore out and play around with it. The Smelter will... technically.. break... - It won't finish smelting the ore, that's for sure, and it won't fully shut off, that's for sure, It will likely console the steel ore if you try to put it back, but it won't make anything from it. or even try.

It's hard to say if there's not a way to recover from this user error - But the bug itself of perpetual smelter can be fixed by sticking something else in while it's on.

It'll try and break it down into ores and seems to try and start the heating up process over again, and then will only finish that item, and shut back off.  Thus fixing the smelter bug.

The user error obviously the steel ingot is gone in /that/ scenario - but I do not know if it could be fixed by sticking an ore/item in that the smelter recognizes, and then while its producing that ingot, stick the steel in that it initially started with.- I imagine it might.. but I don't have the option to test that.

__________

I've probably mentioned this before, and assuming I had is the reason I haven't mentioned it again. but just in case.

Something I saw in 0.0.82 was that if the smelter was producing an ingot, the fuel could be turned off, and it would finish producing that one ingot - and then require it to be turned on briefly to produce the next ingot - meaning you could save a minute amount of fuel with the additional tedium of managing the on off switch in timing with the ingots

ores to smelt -> Smelter on till ingot process begins -> Ingot process begins for first ingot -> smelter can be turned off -> Ingot process finishes for first ingot -> Stop -> Smelter toggled quickly on and then immediately off again -> Ingot process begins for next ingot -> Process finish -> stop -> repeat.

______

Not necessarily a bug....

but.. I've yet to see Zinc Ores.... vein or otherwise... do they actually exist? or is only the Brass ingot obtainable and only via that chest...? carbon and the easy one, Tin, exist, very easily so, but Not a single vein seen of zinc, neither in shop nor sandbox.

OH!

well then oh shit!

Turns out the experiment I was about to run on the Sword Pedestal shield was already proven.

Ignore what I said about it needed to be in the shop zone.

Turns out That if you attach a boss to it, It'll tag it with that metal.

the Last boss I attached to it was Steel, so it remained steel looking.

Had I attached the Adamantine to it and been forced to reload, It would've changed the entire thing to adamantine, And I just knocked off the handles as if it was copper/reloaded - and they're steel - which means they could've been two additional free Adamantine ingots had I left it adamantine. - curse my experimenting ways not making adamantine be the final test...

So Now I have two steel handles - the rim and board still aren't reclaimable or anything. and the only reason I figured this out before reloading, was cause I was about to attach Mithril boss to it from the leftover funds from selling Adamantine sword/making pick - see if I could leave the mithril boss attached to it at the pedestal and see if it would "become a shield" on reload.

The boss wouldn't attach. leading me to try and dismantle it again.

When I had the second customer stuck. I went ahead and decided I was going to try in-game New Game - Which before, was causing the game to freeze - Going back to the main menu for any reason after boot-up caused freezing, heck, 1/4th of the times it boots up, it stops, either in fade in or in some other spot.....

But this is just visual proof if you use the 1st day, go and grab the secret chest - Get lucky***** you could make a titanium or mithril boss or something, and boom. a single lucky ingot turns into three.

and I got a Brass ingot as the other item in the chest. Not that the two of them could've equated to the three of these anyway....

I did try leaving the boss on the shield this time around - as it obviously is noticeable above. Clearly did not change anything one way or the other... The reason I wanted to try leaving it on is because it says "Mithril" with it on, but goes back to being (            ) with it off. so I wanted to see if that would somehow affect it becoming a full blown shield or not, or possibly even causing it to delete itself as an error.

of course. Thanks to resmelt - these three little beauts can become a pick or anything a customer might ask for (since I have bronze and they'll at least ask for Adamantine as previously mentioned) (oh, yeah, Totally made hundreds stealing from Geoff. Quite easy once you know how it functions. - I think reloading clears it back to zero, not that it matters ...

I encountered a bug where a customer buys both a weapon and a shield, but after I hand the items to them and they pay for it, they get stuck in front of my store counter.

It has been acknowledged

You can reload to clear that

However.

you could also do one of the following.

  1. Simply send them away. Begone Thot
  2. Ensure they only get ONE of the items. Preferably shield as that is the one that will give the most money and has the least restrictions (usually they don't tell you the metal type, allowing you to sell literally whatever, as long as the form matches)
    1. Once they've got one of the items they've requested - you can send them away, They'll pay for the item they got, They don't really know how to return items and they're not thieves - so again, Shield them up and they'll pay you a pretty penny.
  3. Experiment. See what you can and can't do - maybe you'll find a better answer than others have.
  4. The above, but instead you maybe take the order-time to recheck Ore-veins or go mining, maybe pick up some cheap handles over at Geoffs, and otherwise restock some supplies, chop some trees, get some E-x--p's - etc - THEN.... do whatever you were going to from above.

Got an issue with customers not accepting weapons.
So for example:
Customer wants a (Non specified metal) One Hand hammer with Uncommon Grip and Morning Star Head.
I offer him a requested weapon made of Mythril (as it's best I can afford now), but he doesn't accept it.
Had this issue 3 times with different weapons, but the common is
- Non specified metal
- One handed
- Uncommon grip
- Special request

Note that if a customer doesn't specify metal (like "I need Great Sword") he accepts weapon made of ANY metal under  Mythril and including it.
P.S. As I checked forum a bit, it seems like they might have requested alloys? In that case, as they accept Mythril, they must have requested Steel when no metal type given.

(+2)

Yea if you get non-specific specified grip - Just dismiss them - They're currently no good to you, just a waste of parts (well I mean you'll get exp but yeah)

It seems all alloys are scripted somehow above Titanium, while not quite actually being so.

Example:

If you have an Alloy hammer - any, alloy hammer - Customers will request anything "That hammer or below" - same with any other hammer - But even if its a Brass hammer - You'll get fairly high level requests, possibly even sometimes titanium requests.

But at the same time.

Brass can only mine so much

Bronze can only mine so much

and Steel can mine up to I believe Mithril - Not 100% sure on that - I might have tested and mentioned in a different post, but can't recollect it.

So they act like they're better metals than Titanium

They Perform like they're about what you'd expect from their alloy components

But then after all that.

They Sell like they don't exist yet. - No price seems to be set for them, despite being above titanium seemingly

And then there are times when it would seem like they /do/ have their own specific levels ... Like....

Okay remember I said brass sometimes gets Titanium requests?

Well if they requested "brass" (no specified metal) - despite brass allowing for titanium requests

You wouldn't be able to give them a titanium item.

but as long as they didn't specify grip/head - You could give them anything brass can mine.  <- (I believe, and, that's what it /should/ be. what it can mine is what it can sell and what customers should ask for, nothing more)

Anywho.

If they break into specifics of head/grip - 9/10 of the times, just send them away, they usually not worth the trouble.

Switching to a Mithril/Titanium/Etc hammer may reduce the number of "blank" requests you get - This is both a blessing and a curse - as a nonspecific-unspecified request can be milked for all the possible coins - and sometimes the requests you want can be few and far inbetween. - and of course, the thing we were just talking about is the curse.

Thanks for a reply.

Btw steel mines up to Mythril and not Titanium, not sure about Adamantine. Bronze mines up to Iron. Dunno about brass, as I've never found Zink in here. Does it even exist?

Oh I know they  alloy picks don't mine up to Titanium - but the Alloy hammers cause Customers to Buy up to Alloy - which believes itself to be higher than Titanium.

I don't think Zinc ore actually exists, At least, I haven't found it yet either - but Brass Ingots can be found at random - There's a specific spot on the map that has a chance of generating 2 grips, 1 grip 1 random any ingot, or 2 ingots (any)  - Every reload. - There's a chance to get titanium steel etc. - literally any ingot.

I tried to clarify that I think - That The Picks can only mine up to a very limited seemingly accurate level - Like That's what allll the levels should be.

But the Hammer cause Customers to pop in asking for everything under the sun. - though It doesn't always let you sell titanium to the "Blank" (no metal type) orders. - which I assume means that not every "blank" is the same and not every alloy will "accept" titanium - Like I would assume Brass wouldn't, but even though Steel can't mine titanium, steel seems to be able to accept titanium - And both brass and steel hammers would allow customers to ask for titanium, specifically.

Well i'm running version 0.0.9c 64 bit but when i prebuild a lets say a one handed sword and restart the game i can't sell it anymore.  I have tried to prebuild something and than selling it without restarting the game and that works so yeah. I hope you fix it, it would make me very happy. :)
My pc is running a intel i5 6500, a asus r9 290 dc2 oc 4g d5, and 16 gb of ram.

(1 edit)

It's a known persisting glitch from the previous version, there's a few bugs from previous build that haven't been solved yet, and some that were solved, or thought to be, and have managed to weasel back in other ways

edit

As the previous version had it suggested as well - I recommend organizing your shop to house tool-heads/parts and grips ready to be finished rather than pre-assembled so that you do not run into this issue of item's "breaking"

Do not. However.

Construct a Wood Shield part and keep it on hand.

On Reload - Shields not only break like items

but the wood part tends to become solid, and once that happens, it is useless - May not always happen, but won't ever happen if you wait to do the wood part last

thanks for the reply and I will make sure not to let shieldparts lay lying around

1. Im running 0.0.9 Version

2. Sometimes happens when i place the Tin ingots on the anvil im clicking and the hammer just dont want to do what is he used for.

5. Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-5005U CPU @ 2.00GHz  2.00 GHz

4.00 GB RAM Memory

64-bit Operating System

Nvidia geforce 920m

Did you forget to choose what type of equipment u want to build by pressing Z? (or maybe u changed it)

i changed it. By the way i saved the game and exited cuz it didnt worked to the main menu so thanks on the comment

Now idk what to do because i have like 40 silver and the customers still want from me copper im 10 lvl and i have 30 days sleeped(in-game)

To start you'll need a new hammer (almost) every time you get to a new metal - Customer buy what your hammer level is or cheaper - Alloys are an exception, which unlock all metals (seemingly)

Additionally. if You're trying to hit heated ingots on the anvil and its not connecting or it is but its not making the right item associated with the right number of ingots, Then something may be in the way of the anvil, or, the anvil may have accidentally swallowed a heated ingot at some point or encountered a hiccup where it assumes it has.

I don't readily know ways to fix this - But you can try taking a pole grip and swishing it around inside the anvil, then removing it from the area, or using your crates near the anvil and seeing if you get a reaction that allows you to close it, and then trying to pull it away.

If you know you have a bunch of objects near the anvil, Simply first try clearing the space of these objects, An item may not even appear close enough to the anvil to count, but in reality, its hitbox/connection triggers are actually in the way and you just can't see it (possibly)

Then the next time you put up ingots open the radial and ensure the correct Group is /possible/ even if it is selected.

You'll see "Large Blades" for example if you have 3 heated ingot on the anvil and go to select blades.

If you see "Large blades" and only have 2 ingots on there - The anvil must assume there's another despite there not being. (Again, Aside from fishing around into a solid object, I don't really know what to do here)

If you have 3 on there and only see "normal" or "Small" - then something is blocking the Anvil from reacting properly to the other ingots. - Example - If an item is sitting ontop of one of the ingots - The anvil will not react properly. This is a readily apparent example - But It's possible a grip could be near by and causing an issue too, even not being near the top of the anvil.

Thank you Kurzidan for the comment this really helps me

By the way when i sell shields people are stucking in the blacksmith shop

I dunno if you've seen other posts yet where this was addressed, but

My Recommendation on Customers asking for shields is to only provide them with a shield, or only with a weapon, and not both.

The game can be saved after they pay and you can reload to clear stuck npcs away - but - If you only give them one or the other, and not both, you can simply dismiss the customer with the X button that you see when looking at them, and they will pay for whatever you gave them.

I assume, while it isn't verified as I don't really know code and haven't really seen it.

That its essentially an issue with how new the change is - More than likely, The Customer is told to "Wait for item" - normally - This would be "satisfied with weapon/item" and they would leave - however a customer asking for item and shield is told "Wait for items" and when they take one they are reinstructed to continue waiting for the other item....

But then they get the other item, and they're reinstructed again, to wait for the other item (which they already have)

While at the same time, they've accomplished "Wait for items" - and thus, begin to "clear out" - Thus their order and X button disappear like they're about to leave, they pay out, but then realize they've been order to "Wait for the other item"

By this time "The other item" is "Null" "N/A" because they have no Order/request - OR - Even if it remembers the other item is "This" - Their request is already "completed" and they no longer can "update" from "waiting" even if they can verify they have the other item.

Either way, They become stuck, indefinitely, because the order is gone, there is no timer, and no X, they can't accept items, because there's either no items that fit their order, which is to say, no order, -- or -- They already have both items, and know they've already accepted it, so they can't take all your iron swords in a single trip to the shop and only pay for one kinda logic.

Anywho. Point being.

If you have only for example

Copper and no Tin.

Sell them the shield - and then dismiss them for the profit of the shield - which is the most profit you can earn "on tier", I believe.

If you have for example - an Alloy hammer, and they request for example, Mithril, but you yourself only own 1-3 adelite ingots and 7 iron ingots - Then if you have enough to give them an Adelite version of the weapon they requested - you'll get more money, so give them that instead, and then dismiss them.

If they instead request "Mithril greathammer - with a (quality) grip...." - Just Dismiss them. unless You can give whatever weapon they're requesting. - As for the Shield, I dunno, You might still be able to give them a shield, but It'd probably be easier to just dismiss them.

When I downloaded the new version my character is tilted, pleeeease help me!

Either new game - or download Slipcor's Character reset - its for version 0.0.82 but I can confirm that it does actually seem to work for 9... Only the character position one though, The horse one will not work since it doesn't exist in 9

Also. If you set the in-game resolution to your desktop resolution, and then select window mode, you'll be able to take screenshots with the print screen key and paste them into Paint and upload them to whatever photo site you fancy using.

The game won't play much different than if you were to have it fullscreen, aside from the difference of Fullscreen = black screen print screen - and Window = visible print screen.

Hey, Whenever an NPC asks for 2 seperate items, it wont go away once I have given it the items. Any idea what to do? im playing in 0.0.9

(+1)

Dasius has been recommending people to simply finish the trade, get the money, then save and reload - this will clear their temporary spawn data

I recommend only selling them one item, and then sending them away.

Make sure they only accept either the weapon, or the shield, and then send them away. - They aren't familiar with "returning" items- and will always pay for what they've taken before leaving - Likely set in place because someone may not finish making the second item before time is up-  So the customer still has to pay when they walk off.

Most of the time - a shield will be the choice, as it is 5 ingots worth of value.

But sometimes you may discern that it is more profitable to do the weapon - In cases where you have 1-3 next tier ingots (Only applies if you have an Alloy Hammer or next tier hammer already made and are just waiting to make a sale in the next tier.)

Alright, thanks for the detailed answer.

With the new Update (0.0.9q), I noticed a few issues. Now I don't know if it is intended but, I notice I can sell tin or better items over copper. With the new "Alloy" system I thought this would be a "inbetween" tier of quality for frogded metals. Well, I made a sword and a greatsword (bronze), but to my dismay, I could not sell them to the customer. (only copper.) Now, I Figure in the future that all customers will have radom but specific wants and needs for goods Like copper swaords). Perhaps a few willing to pay extra for a better than "minimal" quality request, but I am getting off topic. So I have a stack of Bronze ignots with no idea how to profit off them. What role does "alloys" play in this build? Also, there is a glitch with sheild customers not leaving after paying for their last good. Now I can work around by saving the game, go back to main menu and reload the game. (but that cutomer kinda "ends" the day in the game.) I don't know if it's a glitch, but I can't sell pre-built weapons etiher. (they have to be made in view?) Besides all that, good job on adding new content, even if a new  can of worms comes with it. But hey, thats alpha games in a nutshell. New features, new problems.

-Thank you for the help, great game.  Sincerely, Scott.

In order to sell items - You need to have a hammer.

What you start with is copper hammer - you sell only copper.

If you make a tin hammer - you sell tin and copper.

If you make a Titanium hammer - you sell any metal in the game.

There's a bit of a "WIP" here though - Due to Alloys being so new.

Brass (Haven't found zinc, but Brass ingots can be obtained for a certain place on the map)

Bronze

And Steel

All will unlock selling more advanced metals than what you currently have.

They will /at least/ ask upwards of Mithril - but it's possible that all 3 alloys will have customers ask all the way up to titanium - The alloy hammers seem to be registered "Above all other metals"

The Alloy picks work seemingly as intended - Brass Pick will only mine up to a certain level - Bronze up to Adelite I believe, maybe only Iron - Steel will mine up to Mithril

Customers that request Alloys (don't exist) - except they technically do - When You have an Alloy Hammer, you'll occassionally have a customer come in asking for "Blank" tool/weapon - No specific Metal is given.

They're actually Asking for Brass, Bronze, Or Steel, At least, they seem to be.

Depending on what they're asking for, You may be able to sell them anything under the sun.

If they're asking for Steel (Seemingly) they'll accept Anything.

If they're Asking for Bronze (Seemingly) they won't accept titanium but eventually they will accept /something/ you can give them, and above Copper.

Brass has the worst options - Seemingly being restricted to Tin or Copper only.

If the Customer asks for "Blank" Tool  "Specific Grip/Tool head" - Send them away.

They will only give you exp and be worthless to you. - They will only accept whatever they are asking for, which you cannot hope to fulfill, and even if you managed to fill the order - Alloys are So new, They have no value registered, So they sell for nothing.

It's possible that there's a bit of mixed signals here - and that the "Blanks" are what is supposed to be the "alloys" and the "Alloys" are "separate" thus if you ACTUALLY sold a "Blank" - you'd "actually" sell that specific alloy and actually make a profit - but because "Alloy" somehow is separate and has no price - you sell "Blank" instead..... if that made sense...

Anywho.

Customers will buy what is in their price range - Unless - They specify extensions. - in which case they will /only/ accept what they asked for.

Example

A Customer asks for a Mithril Greathammer.

You can give him an Iron Greathammer, No problem.

You cannot give him an Adamantine or Titanium Greathammer - As these are more expensive.

If a Customer asks for a Mithril Greathammer with a common grip and a large hammer head

You must give him a Mithril Greathammer - The grip/head I believe is negotiable, with the loss of a specificity bonus (10%) - but it /must/ be Mithril.

If you only have an Iron Hammer equipped - They will only buy Iron, Tin, Or copper, Never will they ask for something "More expensive" than your hammer - which is what makes Alloys "Oddities"

im currently trying to play 0.0.9 but i still cant make any handles for my shields i have made the wooden shield added the rim and the boss but i just keep producing bosses every time i try and make the handles, i have tried leaving the boss off the shield and then making the handles but that didnt work either, i also have never been able to make a pickaxe head it just wont be made i have tried playing sandbox and using the recipe of 3 bars over and over but i just keep getting a great hammer.

thanks

The Boss, Wrist Grim, and hand Grip are all on the same Menu.....

It's like Making a Pick axe on Large Axe heads.......oh....

wait....

You've never made a pickaxe either nevermind.

Okay.

PickAXE is an Axe, You take 3 heated ingots, all of the same metal, and open the drop menu to axe heads which will read Large Axe I believe if you have 3 detected heated ingots on the anvil.

Strike it until you get a large axe head, and then strike it again and you'll change it to a pickaxe head.

To SELL Pickaxes, You'll need a 2h grip attached to the head

To USE one, You can make it with 1h grip, 2h grip, and I believe, still polegrip as well. - They can be stolen, the blacksmith won't care and use it all the same

Stolen items cannot be sold.

To create Shield grips, You hit a boss a 2nd and 3rd time

After about 4-6 hits, You get a Shield Boss, Another hit gives you the wrist enarmes I believe, and then the next hit gives you hand enarmes. - You'll need 3 Ingots in total to have all 3, and will need all three plus the Shield rim (total of 5 ingots) to complete a shield, and they must all be matching metal, at least for now.

for Shield rim - also, The Rims appear in the order you see them on the woodworking table - Heater heater round heater heater heater tower etc

Just like with Every blade's alternate form, or switching from axe to pickaxe - you'll have to hit the rim once for every change.

so 4-6 hits and you get heater 1, it won't fit perfectly on the anvil - hit it again and you'll get heater 2 - which will quite likely fall off, depending on if it stayed in the anvil area or flew off into the grass will depend on if you can immediately smack it again to make a round rim, or if you have to pick it up and place it back on the anvil.

to get round shield you'll use about 7 or so hits - Tower will be around 10. Heater is easy since usually they won't ask for a specific number, allowing you to just make Heater 1 and be done with it.

You cannot use Mace/morning star head as personal Hammer

You can sell any small hammer head (including mace/morning star) as a 1h hammer

You can make any blade into a Polearm, Large, normal or Small. - they will make polearms and can only be sold to polearm requests, keep that in mind.

You can sell 1h-grip+ small axe head

You can USE 1h or 2h grip + small axe head (stolen or not) for the Blacksmith's Personal axe, same with the hammer.

Thanks mate didnt even think to try that, You didnt have to be so condescending though i accidentally said hammer rather than axe, thanks none the less.

I hadn't realized I came off as condescending, on the "accidentallly hammer than axe" section - I originally was going to just compare it to making a Pickaxe, then as I was rereading the statement I realized you were saying you hadn't been able to make one of those either and instead of going back I just started off by describing where to look to make a pickaxe and then how to make one, as well as additional variants for other items....

Any capitalization, bold, and/or italics is only really meant to stress the word/separation.

For Example

The player can make any pickaxe and "use" it- Equip it.

But They can't just sell any old pickaxe, It has to specifically be a 2h grip to give the notification of item creation, and thus have customers able to accept it.

It wasn't meant for anything else.

@Dasius

Every time when customer want weapon and SHIELD, after when i will get him that he will not leave. He stuck also when time runs out dont leave also when u close and open shop.

(+1)

Sell them one or the other for now, That's the easiest, stay in session, approach.

Hand them either the weapon or the shield and then dismiss them.

Or

You can save and reload when they're stuck after selling them both, but some items may need to be reassembled as a result of doing that, or become unsellable (certain things like the wood part of a shield, when not attached to anything else, become useless on reload)

Developer

They haven't been deleted just moved to accommodate some of the changes to the map.

I cannot bind the arrow keys when I try to change the controls.

Developer

Hey Brineless,

Will have to look into why arrow keys are not bindable.

Thank you ! It's actually a little bit annoying because I'm a lefty

0.0.9d

Sometimes, when a customer comes in to buy something, it plays the sound that they make when they request something, but as soon as they arrive, they just disappear with the dismiss button hanging in the air to the left, unable to be clicked.

Might be related to what I've got in my shop, so, if it is, I've got three copper bars and one tin bar, along with one of each common grip and guard.

Developer

Hey TheEnemyCube,

We are investigating this issue, thank you!

I've Been Playing This For A While (Few Months After Appeared On Itch.io) And I'm Currently In Version 0.0.9 And I Haven't Been Playing Since Veins Was In Sandbox (I Can't Remember What Version It Was) I Have Made An Axe But I Can't Select it To My Tool Bar. Can Someone Please Help Me How to do This?

Developer

Hey Oblisk234,

Try rebinding your keys in the options menu.  Otherwise, not quite sure why you can't select it. What happens when you press the corresponding key for the axe? Also, are you able to switch to the other tools in your belt?

Alright found a newish bug related to the recent updates....

I have a customer asking for a Zinc One hand hammer.... Zinc is non-refinable, so there's no Zinc Ingot to make a Zinc one hand hammer with... I tested (wasted) some zinc to ensure this was still the case.

Dunno how Zinc would become requestable, maybe it was miscommunication when adding in requests for alloys, maybe it was a necessary evil to get the system to logically accept prices and requests for alloys, I dunno. But it's there.

He's listed as a "Novice" stone mason.. so I mean... I would assume I could still pawn a copper mace on him... but. I don't really have any copper currently on hand unless I go outta my way to by it...and then I'd just use it to make brass... which is actually worth a bit more than tin xD

Developer

Thanx Kurzidan,

We'll fix the issue.

  1. Version 0.0.9e
  2.  Sometimes when fulfilling orders an NPC will stand in the shop and not leave/ take a while to leave. I've personally had this happen with the Jacksepticeye npc (not sure if that really matters) and the second time it happened I looked past him and out where the customer NPCs spawn, I saw what looked to be about 20 of them just standing stock still. When I started approaching them the Jack npc stuck in my store despawned (I assume it was the default despawn timer that would normally pull the npc off the map as they walked away timing out and despawning him automatically) after I walked towards them every npc that was stuck standing at the spawn just started to leave town.
  3. I only recorded a gif because it wasn't until they started moving that it occurred to me to document it: https://gyazo.com/b2b25bdd7f6671f1613a40a9d8e55d48
  4. Not really sure what is causing it, but it happened when the npc customer was locked after i sold them something, when I opened the game I loaded my save, went and opened the store, the customer just appeared at the counter, I completed the order (copper polearm and shield, last time he froze in place it was a copper dagger) and upon handing him the polearm (already had the shield pre-made by accident) he stood with no dialogue bubble. It was near night time and when I went to save and relaunch I saw the crowd of NPCs over his shoulder.
  5. Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 445 Processor (3 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
    Memory: 10240MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650

    Driver Date/Size: 6/27/2017 17:38:18, 17806048 bytes
    WHQL Logo'd: n/a
I don't really think this is a sound related issue so I'll leave it at the display info, hope all that helps, if you need any more info I can pull up whatever you need.

Hey Arretey

Thanx for the bug report. These are weird issues.

Is it only me getting crates that don't show the option to close?
I grabbed it and was heading for the mine, then the option appeared. I said to myself that I can open it in the cave, no reason to do it in an open useless field. But when I went in the cave, there was no option of closing/opening crate.

Crates can only be opened or closed with objects residing inside of them, Certain objects are "bad" however and do not fully sit inside the crate - You should not try to have something locked inside a crate that is larger than the crate as a result of this. It can result in "problems"

There's also an issue of "Something" in the "air" triggering the ability to close a crate.

resist doing so, This is a fool's choice.

It may become hard to open the crate later since nothing but air is inside of it, and it may even start to exhibit gravity issues, Spirally away from your hand in odd ways, or floating around like a crystal.

under normal circumstances though, You won't be able to open or close it if nothing is in it, the prompt appears (generally) when you put ore into it (as that's its most common use) and will remain present as long as items are inside it

If you must carry something bigger than the crate, ensure something smaller than the crate is also inside the crate, in a fairly central location, as it can be pushed to the limits if not.

Wow, thanks for that explanation. Didn't expect the game is at THAT early stage.
However I get back to it every time i get back from work. I remember few years ago I was wondering when someone's gonna make Blacksmith Simulator - and voille'a! Here we go.
Thanks Kurzidan!

That happens to me as well. Break the shield on anvil and assemble again. If that doesn't work trie to make a new wooden part.

Woorked for me.
