In what way does your game fit the theme?
In the game, you play as a small magnet. Around the level, there are other smaller magnets. Collecting them, will increase how much damage you do with each projectile. So the magnets work together, to make the player stronger.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I did write all of the code by myself. I also made all of the art, music, and other assets from scratch.

Has a nice retro aesthetic but I'd like to see more with the gameplay. Found the best way to succeed was to just speed through the levels without really shooting. Collecting the little magnets just didn't seem to make your damage go up enough if at all. Had a point where I'd collected 2 or 3 of them and just couldn't kill an enemy no matter how much I shot it. Also I'd recommend changing the enemies to be a different design. Had a bit of initial confusion because I collided with a small magnet and an enemy at just about the same time and wasn't quite sure which one did damage.
the GameBoy* in the model make the game so retro, and it works so well, i rly love the idea and makes me wanna play again with my old gameboy some titles... Really Good Job!
The simple graphics with the retro sounds and music worked really well together. It really felt like you were taken into the past. As for the gameplay, you could've made the theme more prominent. Collecting the small magnets didn't change all that much and wasn't really required to complete the levels. Also, at first I was a little confused because the collectable magnets and the enemies look very similar. Maybe it would have been better for the enemies to be something other than magnets, just to differentiate them more visually. I did like the challenge of avoiding the walls. They just felt a little unfair at times, as even barely touching was enough to void out. Maybe tweak the hitboxes a little. But that's a minor nitpick. Overall, good job.
Interesting take on the theme for the Jam. I liked the emulator style you used and the way you configured your menu options.
Pretty nice! I like the graphics. The void can be a little glitchy sometimes though.
The look of the game was cool. It was a little confusing that you couldn't touch the walls and the controls felt a little too strong (you moved the character way too much with a single click)
But other than that, great game!
It doesn't fit the theme, though. And the screen shake is a bit too much, and it kinda make it feel awful. That is my two cents.
Interesting game, I really enjoyed the retro-theme especially with playing it on a (Microsoft?) game boy. It was fun although the enemies didn't pose much of a threat, I was able to run right through them and get to the end of the levels fast. I finished level 1 in only 14 seconds.
The only think I can suggest to improve on is making a death restart the level rather then kicking the player back to the main menu.
Overall super fun!
I love the retro type of game and the music it gives me the vibes of the first mario. you done a incredible job and i hope you keep going on and on with your game good luck. If you wanted to could u check out my game
Like the graphical design. Too much shake for my taste, not the intensity but shaking for everything that happens. The shake itself feels great however 1st time I got a small magnet I thought I got hit as it is the same shake as dying and hitting the wall.
The design is good for speed running found myself trying for better times trying sub 10 seconds in the levels. On that note retry feature would have been a pleasant feature.
Well done.
Fun game and creative idea with the gameboy border! Really sticks to the spirit of the classic retro style game. Only complaint is that dying is perhaps a little too easy. Maybe make the walls push the player back slightly.
