Pretty fun for a short amount of playing time

This is a really cool small puzzler with a cool main focus. It would be great to expand this with some more levels, but it is a very solid game!

Very cute! Great work for the game jam!

Great game I enjoyed the music and the controls were a little complicated to get at first but after that it was smooth.

What I liked:

  • Music
  • Art
  • Theme connection

What I didn't like:

  • Controls (jumps) were very floaty
  • Jump wasn't on Spacebar :( (Personal preference)
  • Character Cycle wasn't on mouse scroll wheel. I feel like it would have made things much more smooth.
  • No numbers above the head (since we don't know which num corresponds to each color)
  • However, the ability to click on them to select would have been nice
  • Colors of buttons were definitely messed up, (yellow guy on red button needed to open something)

Overall, with all the UX issues fixed, controls worked out, this could be a nice little game to publish! Nice job.

Thank you for the feedback!

I think the scroll wheel would have been better for the character switcher but that would have required a lot more work so decided to put it off until after the jam. People have mentioned the buttons before too. I didn't think it was that big of a deal but apparently I was wrong. I do like the idea of being able to click the characters. I'll need to rewrite the switcher script because a lot of people recommended I fix that.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Simple but fun little puzzle game, I really liked the simple graphisms and the Music.

This was a fun little ride. The game is pretty simple but still enjoyable and engaging. The required mechanics are nicely introduced and I can see the premise being polished up and expanded upon, to make a fully-fledged game.

I'm glad I spent a couple minutes on your game, keep up the good work :)

Thank you for your review! This was my first game that I've made without the help of a tutorial so your comment is very encouraging! I'm glad you enjoyed my game!

The music feels nice, the levels are pretty easy to be honest. The players do interact with each other so it would be better if some levels use this as a mechanism.

Nice job.

Developer(+1)

I had tried to get that working but the grounding mechanic made it too difficult for the game jam.

I am working to improve the game though and should have that working soon.

I wasn't able to play it, unfortunately. What system did you use for input? Legacy or new input system?

Developer

I used project settings -input

Is that the legacy input system?

Submitted

That's the old system, although technically the new one is still an optional package. The reason I ask is because almost every Unity game I play that I have to download is pretty much unplayable because the horizontal axis is constantly pushed to the left, resulting in characters always moving left, etc. There's so far only one game on here that I found that worked and I wonder if they used the new system instead. I highly recommend learning about it. Here's the videos I used to learn to use it myself for this jam:

Brackeys Controller Input (also works for keyboard and mouse)

Samyam covers it too

There's also Brackey's original video about it, but it's from when it was an experimental release, so a lot of what he says is not 100% accurate anymore: https://youtu.be/Pzd8NhcRzVo

Great game. I love how you have approached the theme of the jam. It was enjoyable. I loved the entertainer to be in the Soundtrack. I would love to see more levels in a future :)

Awesome game! Loved the mechanics the controls were responsive too!

Overall awesome game!

Poor grandpa! Game mechanics a bit confusing and ui not really fit the different screen resolutions, but overall liked the experience! nice job!

Developer

Yeah the UI scaler isn't very intuitive so I just picked a resolution and kept with that. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm on MacOS :( but I left you a rating anyway :)

Submitted(+1)

i wish i could play your game but im on MacOS could you make a mac file but its up to you

Developer

I'll try to make Mac support. I'll need to watch a few tutorials. Sorry about it not being available.

its ok can you rate my game annd comment

The game has a good concept, and the controls most of the time were responsive. But sometimes the player wouldn't have a way to restart the level, especially on the 2nd one. Having a pause menu would help, and adding more obstacles to make the game harder would make the game a lot better. The music fit the game and was fun to play. Nice work.

Developer

I knew I was forgetting some tutorial info

The way you could restart was by pressing "r" and "p" paused the game. Sorry about not making that clearer.

Thanks for the feedback!

It requires a little bit of polish on the movement and the camera.

Anyways, thanks dev. Keep it up
