In what way does your game fit the theme?
Rubella is all about teaming up with your fellow virus strains so you can do greater things. The more versions of yourself that you can collect, the more powerful you become!

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, all assets were made by me (minus a few of the sound effects purchased from Splice)

Fun game and I really enjoyed the sprite design! Feels like a game that could be ported to mobile really easily!

The game was cool. I wish there were checkpoints in between levels, however. Good job with the game though!

Very cool game! Like the art design and the theme fits very well. I like the creature designs as well! Very nicely done :)

Great game ! Main gameplay is cool and minigame with different gameplay on each level is very pleaseant ! You art style is nice too, except for the main character which is weird I think and does not match very well with the game but for all other things good job ! ;)

This was really fun, I played through the entire thing.

I love how the game really starts to put things into perspective the bigger you get. Obstacles you couldn't even really perceive at first are suddly really small. And the way the mini-games lead you from level to level gives the entire exprience a huge deal of variety.

The soundtrack is also really nice. Gives the entire game a light-hearted and happy feeling, which is nicely supported by the cutesy spritework.

All in all a very nice experience ^^

A simple, but fun game. I liked it a lot. Would also like a sligthly bigger map.

This game has a lot of charm to it. The silly graphics and the really funky music go together really well. I also liked the idea of collecting friends to form one item to do one task, it's a pretty funny goal. The best parts of the game were definitely the minigames.

The collecting friends part was pretty tedious and unforgiving though. If you die, you have to start all the way at the beginning instead of at a checkpoint, and it's really easy to die. Bugs are usually faster than you and some of the hazards aren't marked clearly. I would mark the hazards with a red outline or something, and I would also lower the friend requirement from 20 to something low like 5, because for me the most enjoyable part of the game was playing the different minigames.

Impressive work overall, I can tell a lot of hard work went into making this. It's not easy making a bunch of different minigames in a span of a week.

This is a really fun and wacky game! I love the art style and the very catchy music! The little minigames between each area is a really neat touch too! My only complaint is I fell down the sewer grate and died! Really impressive and addicting game! Great job!

I love the adrenaline rush I get when I start to get a little too big and I'm like "I GOTTA GET BIG ENOUGH TO MOVE ON" The music is also very nice and dare I say sexy. It's a super satisfying experience!

=D

I love how you set the bateria into different shapes

Interesting concept, the visuals are pretty simple but charming and the inbetween level minigames are oddly reminicent of warioware which is definitely good in my books. overall pretty solid game dude

Its a fun game, but you add shadows and more. More importantly, in these big map games, a map is a very important thing.

it is a fun game. I love the art and audio. At the beginning of the levels it is pretty boring because you can't see very much and you have to guess where to move, but when you collect more red guys it gets a lot more fun. Also it isn't clear what kills you and what doesn't, like it seems like you should be able to go in the water. Overall it's a fun game though.

Love the art style! And the music is perfect for this. Feels a lot like one of those iO games which is great! And then the mini game thing really breaks it up and keeps it interesting. Just wish there was progression saving haha. Great job!

Watching the stream! :D

A pretty fun game, easy to get the hang of and a friendly, fun atmosphere.

(I think the virus you control is moving faster diagonally than horizontally/vertically, i dont think thats intended :D)

Really like that you start moving faster the bigger you get. I just think that apart from the audio feedback it could use a bit more visual feedback on whats a good and a bad thing, like a subtle camera shake when you get hit by an enemy or something.

I think overall its a pretty good submission. Good job!

Great pixel style. The controls are smooth and the music is nice.

I would like to see some more feedback to the player for when you're "collecting" other virus. Like a little particle effects or screen effect.
Also, I thought it would be cool to have indicators on the edge of the screen showing where the other viruses are? Maybe something as simple as a little virus bubble that sticks to the edge of the screen in the direction of the virus. (Does that even make sense... lol)

Nice job overall. I liked it.

Nice theme and art style! I especially loved the funky music that makes the game seems much more fun. However, it is a bit of a disappointment how death resets everything. But I guess that is the point of the game.

Btw, this is my first game jam, so I would love to hear some feedback from you.

The game has a ton of character and charm! The protagonist has a goofy, Muppet-like quality to it, and all the little UI elements, sound effects, and musical fanfares really help with the overall jovial tone.
Some of the gameplay aspects could use a bit of polish though. In the early game, the camera is close enough to the ground that finding buddies takes a while, especially if they happened to randomly spawn in a cluster on another part of the map. The buddies also can traverse terrain that kills the player, so I ended up dying twice running into an obstacle that was visually flagged as "safe" by a creature identical to me standing there.
The soundtrack was excellent, I can't say no to some good funky grooves. And even if the game had a few issues, I just found myself smiling at the goofy level transitions and silly sounds that came with breaking a window or turning into a chainsaw to cut down logs.

Cool Game! The music was really nice. And like what the comment below me said, going diagonal is faster than going straight. And maybe add an outline to all the dangerous obstacles, but thats probably it, Great Game!
