Cool game. The art and music were very good taking into account you did them yourself in one week, the music could be improved to be less repetitive but its ok. Gameplay works nice and the time gun adds some depth to it. Great job and keep it up, I'm impressed you're only 11.

Thank you!

Interesting game, my feedback is that the changing size of the text at the beginning was a bit weird, and it was difficult to know where to drive to since you couldn't see much. I got stuck between two trees and found it really difficult to manoeuvre out since it seemed to be clipping against it. The music was repetitive and not great.

However I did find the game fun and I was panicking when the plane got close and felt relieved when I managed to get the 3rd ball in time to rewind the alien back, so the game was quite immersive :D

Developer

Yes, I seem to get a lot of comments about the trees colliders being very harsh, and the music being repititive. Thank you for rating though!

Fun game! I know that main menu though.

Developer(+1)

Brackeys Main Menu, Yes, it is based off his. Thank you for playing!

Pretty cool!

Nice and simple concept, executed fairly well; some bits were quite punishing though when you came up against an area with a very small gap to go through, was easy to get clipped slightly and then get stuck.  Some procedural level generation would have been cool so that I couldn't learn the level.

Overall a nice solid game!

Developer(+1)

I wished i could've done some level generation(It would've been my first time), but due to time restrictions, I had to stick with handcrafted levels. Thank you for playing though!

Always smart to stick with what you know you can do in time, so I think if you were in doubt then you made the right choice.

Very nice visuals! Controls where a nice twist! I'd say a very mechanically sound idea here! Think it would be awesome to see as a part of a larger project!

Thank you!

This game is very cool, but the level music is a bit too repetitive, and if you select any option below the medio resolution in the graphics the car turns in SUPER-ULTRA-MEGA-SPEED, other than that the game is very good! and i love the low poly graphics! it fits very well!

Developer

Thank you for noticing this, it helps me out a lot.

i'm glad that i helped! i really enjoyed the game! hope you keep it up!

Hey i liked the ui music and the low poly art. But the music that comes after you pressed start was a bit annoying.

It was also very frustrating that you have to click through the tutorial by each restart, by such a diffficult game.

But i really like how you used the rewind theme and that you kept the scope small.

Developer

Thanks for the tips!

The game is pretty cool, I like the visuals, the difficulty is done right and the game is quite addictive. The music is also quite cool, however the are things that could be better which wouldn't take a lot of time to fix. Great job overall!

Developer

Thank you!

I've always been a sucker for low-poly art-style and games, love what you did, but lots of room for improvements.

Developer

Thank you, I agree, there could have been a lot of improvements.

It is a nice idea but I think the execution could be better. Well, first thing's first, the music is really annoying(it is okay, I'm also not music master, my game has also really bad music). I guess the game would be better if the obstacles were random, right now the obstacles are really unfair because there is always only one path you can use it. The graphics are nice, no problem on this. Oh, and collisions on trees, I think it would be better to add some slippery there, so the player don't lose a lot of time turning.

Anyway, you did a nice job but try to polish a little bit and it would be a great game. Be sure to check mine!

Developer

Thanks, I played your game before! very fun.

I love the idea, but I do have some gripes with the execution. The game is kinda hard because there is too many props and because of how the camera was facing it was hard to see what was in front of you and that's a but unfair. That said, if your really are 11 and if you really did get only 14 ish hours of programming and dev time, this is amazing. That puts my game to shame. I hope that you enjoyed the time you did spend on your game and I hope you will make much better stuff in the future :) Well done!

Thank you so much for your feedback.  The camera was intentionally placed that way so the player could see the alien coming.

Interesting idea. But I want to see better lighting with with better background music. Keep working.

Developer

Thank you, I totally get that i should improve on making music, I use Bosca Ceoil. Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting concept, I think this could be a nice 2 buttons game, like moving only with the mouse and pressing RMB for rewind and LMB for acceleration. I enjoyed the game though it needs some polish!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the tip, changing the speed would definitely be a nice feature

Liked the idea, but it's plagued by some problems that got unnerving pretty fast.

-Going in reverse is fun, but it makes the movement very sluggish when you hit an obstacle and try to correct your position.
-The intro shouldn't replay everytime as it gets boring to go through it. Even more given that you'll die often while trying to get the controls under... well, control, on the first few tries.
-The text writing itself in the box is cool, but the fact that it changed size is a bit weird.
-The game felt very unforgiving, and kind of "die and retry"-ish.
-The obstacles were a huge problem, as you often get an opening that is not that much bigger than your car, to navigate through, which gets very punishing with the alien's speed and the repositionning problem. You should have spaced them a bit more.
-I felt that there were too many dead ends, while the camera is a bit too close to the player, which results in a number of deaths that were only due to choosing a path and then seing that there is a wall blocking the whole way.

Overall, it could become a fun little game with a bit more work on the Level Design, in order to make it less unforgiving. The other problems are mostly small fixes that would anyway make the agame more enjoyable.

Developer

Yes, I agree that these minor fixes would make the game more fun. Thanks for rating!

The idea was cool but that could have been done a bit better, but nice!

Developer

Thanks you!

The core idea is cool, but it needs some more effort to unleash its full potential.

First of all, the text is easier to read, when you have a fixed Font Size. Adjust the textbox to the screen/camera size and make it big enough for your biggest text to fit in well. This will help the player read much more fluently. Also it's never a good idea to use black on white brackground for texts. It's too stressing for the eyes on a monitor. You could go for a grey or colors instead and an adjusted font.  Now to the intro: It's okay-isch, but you could have implemented it a bit smoother. If I got it right the guys in the car are talking? Or having a phone call. So why not start with "Shit my car broke, I can only move backwards, what do I do now?!" and then the guy response with "I will watch the aliens, drive backwards" and then you just do this for the first few meters with a way simpler obstacle course than you have now. Then the first energy ball appears and the driver says "hey i drive through the energy balls, make sure to get that gun ready, how much ammo is left?" and the other one says sth like "we have 2 so i only need one now" and then you collect the first one and can test it out. Afterwards you can simply collect them through the course. You teach the player the basics while playing the game and have a narrative.
Now to the graphics. The shader is not the best. It works for the game jam, but definetly needs to improve if you wanna continue working on it to make the game more appealing. It looks like what it is, the general prefab from any 3D software. The modeling style itself is cool though.
The course is too hard from the beginning. Also when you do a whole wall with only one way to drive through, you definetly need more visual clues OR narrative to get where you have to go. Or make the camera see more of what's before... I mean... behind you. So it feels more fair.

Developer

Yes, the dialouge could have been better, but i hoped that the player, would at least get what the game is about. Thanks for the advice!
