Not going to lie but I liked the tutorial more than the core game mainly as  it was awesome but when it came to the endless runner scene I wasn't able to cross that i tried placing my clones and rewinding but it didn't seem to work maybe you could've waited for the player to rewind back instead of restarting the level if player dies.

Overall its a really cool and polished game.

Developer

Thanks for playing, appreciate your feedback!

Will improve the game design in the future, we didn't have enough time to make it feel best, sorry!

I'll keep your feedback in mind and try to do more levels with the feeling of the first level :)

Nice looking game, but overall not very fun for me, I kinda liked the first section, but the second section was impossible for me to get past. Also the difference between the two sections was far too much, it almost felt like they were different games... :/

Developer

Thanks for your feedback!

We tried making a runner game mode that adapts existing mechanics in another sort of game feeling before getting to the boss.

Will take into account your feedback to improve the game design in the future and make it more fun! :)

Nice game. Really nice visuals and i liked how big it felt. The feeling of the environment in the second level was really cool.

Some constructive feedback on my experience:

  • Shooting and camera. In the beginning the camera view kinda was stuck behind the characters head and i couldn't really see what i was shooting at. I eventually figured it out though. Maybe fix the camera so the view can not be blocked by the players head.
  • The boss? I stopped at the boss because i couldn't kill him or didn't figure out when to time my "rewind-step". He just shoots so fast like without warning? Maybe i missed something. I thought that him flickering was the warning, but the second time it didn't seem to happen. I needed more handholding lol.

Anyways good job on the game ^^ Please take the time to try out my game too :)

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Your feedback is interesting, will do my best to fix the camera issue. The boss battle is a bit of a tough one as you're supposed to try and rewind as far as possible so that the virus projectile expires before hitting you. But I agree that it was not really easy and nor intended to be this hard!

I really like the idea of having the flicker be triggered when the boss is about to shoot! Will keep that idea in mind.

Thanks for your feedback :) Will take a look at your game.

I was kinda confused. The visuals looked pretty nice but there was no shoot animation xD.  I didnt realized what to do in your game becasuse visual feedback was lacking in your game (like instructions or hints or how you died) but I really liked that the bullet changed direction to hit the enemy. Overall its a good game ^^

Developer

Thanks for playing! :D

Yeah we didn't have a correct character model setup for me to link it with a shooting animation sadly, but will try to rework that in the future :)

Thanks for your feedback, appreciate it!

Great game, love the visuals and gameplay. Keep doing the great work <3

maybe if you had time you could check out my game

Developer

Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Will surely take a look at your game.

The game is really good, the art models are amazing and the game looks really good. However, for me the mouse sensitivity was way to high and when I did a small move of my mouse, the person rotated 180 degrees. The shooting was really good and the camera was always following the player. :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing the game! :)

I will take this into consideration when improving the game, thanks for the feedback ^^

I like the graphics and the idea. Good job.

Thanks for playing :)

Congrats for the submission. The graphics are really well polished, and the game has a great control response.

Great job! :D

the polish on how this game looks is amazing, i love the glowing effects and the environments! NICELY DONE!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for taking some time to play, glad you enjoyed the environment work ^^

It was a neat game, but it seemed hard to figure the game was about. Laser moose and virus? The shooting affect was pretty fun tho.

Thanks for playing, appreciate your feedback :)

After a little pause i tried this game again and still got stuck after the second camel wave after the cats. But from that what i've seen i can say that:

The graphics looked great and with a little bit more time you probably would have fixed the animation of the gun too ;-).

The game idea didn't just fit the theme but was also pretty nice to play even though it was a bit buggy (The respawn points despawned sometimes without notifications and i couldn't find the system behind it)

Also add something like a black outline to the menu text so you can still see it in the second level.

Although - Great game that just needs some polishing

[and an easy mode :-(  ]

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback! :)

The respawn point is actually a rewind mark, which disappears after 10s after being summoned. Sorry about the difficulty, a lot of people seem to have trouble with it, but it's my fault for not designing the map well as we only had a short time left ^^'

Will do my best to improve the game with your feedback, thanks for playing :)

I really liked the way you handled the rewind mechanic! The game gave me old school playstation vibes back when they made games like Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank and stuff. My one suggestion is that it wasn't immediately apparent to me that there was an auto target system maybe have some visual indicator of what enemy I'm currently "locked on" to. Overall great job though!

Submitted(+1)

Also I like that you fight a virus in this game lol. The big boss battle was pretty cool as well.

Developer(+1)

Haha yeah that's the vibe, I'm happy you enjoyed it ^^

There is a ctually a glowing yellow cylinder that indicates which enemy is being auto-targetted, I will try to make it more obvious and instinctive in the future.

You made it to the virus boss, glad you liked the battle :)

Submitted(+1)

Yeah it took me a couple of tries to get past the llama spits but once I realized the auto target was a thing I was able to get past that part way easier!

Developer(+1)

Great to know! Will keep that in mind.

Submitted(+1)

I really like it! Looks amazing and I had some fun playing it.  The gun shooting looks a bit weird but it's fine. Good job!
If you wanna play and rate mine it will be awesome :) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/723379

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! :) Will improve the shooting in the future, we didn't have enough time to polish the shooting sadly.

I'll give a go at your game :)

Graphics are really nice and the concept is actually great. However, I think if you had polished a little bit more, it would be so much better. The mechanic of jumping through portals is actually really powerful(ratchet and clank of PS5 is doing this) so it is a great idea but the game is not very easy to play. First I think you should add some crosshair, so the player can aim. And the bullet range is very short, sometimes enemies are really close to you and you can't hit them.

Anyway, it is a cool game and a cool idea but if your work a little bit more then you could even release in places like steam!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing for the detailed feedback, will take it into account to improve the game in the future. Might think about polishing it to a point where I can publish it on steam :)

Diffinitely in top 3 games i played made in this jam.  Grear graphics!  Stuck on second level though.

Developer

Thank you for playing, happy to hear that you liked it :D

Will definitely try my best to improve levels in the future, sadly we didn't have a game designer nor enough time to design levels correctly.

Submitted(+1)

I found it difficult to aim while shooting but other than that I liked it!  I'd really appreciate if you could also rate my game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! :)

I will try to make aiming better in the future. Will definitely check out your game :)

Thats some full blown Flash stuff. <3

Developer(+1)

Haha yeah, glad you enjoyed it :)

Yep totally had some fun.

couldn't get past the desert level sorry, i do like the mark and rewind feature though

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! :) I'll try to design the maps better in the future.

Submitted(+1)

It's amazing to me what people can make in one week time. I loved the tutorial part and the levels! Good job and nice rewinding effect! :)

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)

Submitted(+1)

The 3D graphic, I think, is pretty good for a 1 week deadline.  The rewinding effect impressed me. But it quite hard to aim at the first level ,maybe adding the gun point is better.

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed the effect :P

Thanks for your feedback, I will think about improving aiming in the future.
