In what way does your game fit the theme?
Re:Wind (but in the sense of actual wind)

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code was written during this jam but I used some preexisting Art and Sound Assets.

This game is pretty fun, especially the wind mechanic, very satisfying and sort of challenging sometimes.  The wall jump animation is kind of weird though, a more unique animation for this would be nice.  Also a very unique interpretation of the theme.  My condolences as well.

Thank you for your honest feedback and the condolences TanakaDev!
I will probably change the animation to make it more polished

A simple game with a story with nice pixel art. Well done!!

And I'm sorry about your grandfather, he will be happy that you made a game dedicated for him.

This game art is great and the controls are good too. Love the colors. and I was able to beat it :p  Nice job. You could def expand this with enemies and attacks and use the wind in your favor.

Developer

Thank you Mastro2k!
I agree with you about exploring the wind mechanic a bit more.

You can tell a lot of love was put into this game!  Looks beautiful and the clever play on the rewind theme is really nice!  If you keep working on this game I think it could be a great release, needs a few more animations and the background music could be built upon some more but overall really really cool! Nice work, please check out our submission if you have a second <3 https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/721506

Art Style, Setting and Sound fits very well together and provided a really enjoyable experience. I absolutly loved what you did with the theme, because I was like "Ahhhh" when I found out what "Wind" actually did. I was expecting some kind of time travel or similar. That was very unique.

In terms of gameplay: I think the game didn't really had much for the player to play. It was a bit more like a journey. It worked pretty nice as that and you absolutly had my heart with your grandpa. It's really cool, that you dedicated that for him :)

Thanks a lot Yapsinho for playing and your feedback
I wanted the game to be also playable by my mother, so I didn't explored the mechanic more indepth and more a quick introduction to platformer with some emotions attached to it.

I think you've got a cool game here that can definitely be expanded upon. The wind mechanic feels a bit rough currently, other than that the artstyle is cool. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing riko
Yeah I agree that I should have made more with the wind

I liked this game a lot, good job! I especially like your unique take on the theme. The game has a somewhat haunting and nostalgic feel. The pixel art is very charming. Nice work :)

Developer

Thanks for playing noahbonneau!
P.S.: Please finish your game and good luck with it;->

Solid artstyle! The animation felt a bit off compared to the movement values. But the movement felt really good in general! The wind mechanic is very interesting, however it felt like it wasn't integrated in the level design at all. Yes it made you faster, but not quite necessary to complete the game. That's what I missed here.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback Maultaschenprinz!
I also noticed that I should have probably made more with the wind mechanic though I wanted the game to be playable for all (especially for my mother who has lost her father which the game is dedicated to) and should more feel like a journey.

My condolences. I can now see why you designed it that way then!

Very interesting take on the theme! If you wanted to expand on the game in the future a gliding mechanic would be very cool!

I am glad you played it HurlCatGames

Thanks HawKyre!

Cool game, but the parallaxing made me a bit nauseous because it didn't react instantly to the camera. The art was nice, and I really liked the audio!

Developer(+1)

I am glad you liked some parts Zicrus.
I am sorry that it made you nauceous, but in the editor and on the windows versions everything was smooth, maybe I should disable it for WebGL next time.

Good work, like the use of wind - quirky wall jump! Please check out my game.
