This was so incredibly fun! An addicting game loop, looks absolutely awesome, and somehow a game longer than most in the jam. Really well done, played it all the way through and enjoyed the whole thing.
Hey, awesome game! The aesthetics are beautiful, the music is top notch for me. Soundtrack is an absolute jam.
I like the game mechanics, it's pretty fun! Overall, really great job here.
Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Really nails what it wants to show. Though I still have a few qualms with it. Gameplay and everything works and feels fine. Really see the inspiration from 'Joust'(old arcade cabinet game) in the mechanics. I've seen other comments pointed out stuff like "time limits on people" or "lava kills passengers", so I'm wondering why not have different physics for the water & lava falls? Instead of outright being a wall, it could be more fun to have waterfalls repel the player like a trampoline and have lavafalls outright slow down the player. Makes the environment more interesting and might've been possible to do within the timespan. Consider if the game should have an outright reset or restart button next time as well. The one bug pointed out by another comment really sucks cuz you have to wait for time to be out to get another try. Lastly is the music and art. Don't get me wrong, love the main menu's track and subsequent song in game. But that's just it. The one song during gameplay just keeps going even when the game changed scenery. I left this comment for last because not everyone has the time to make/put in more soundtracks for every scene change in a game so consider having more tracks next time. Really helps with atmosphere. The art is good though so no problems there. TL;DR, 'Birb Taxi' has a lotta potential. Movement seems inspired from the game 'Joust' and hits that nostalgia factor visually and mechanically. Environmental factors could take this game to the next level and more songs would help it immensely for scene changes.
Thank you so much for your feedback
I already have a new build ready that fixes some of these points - like more variety in music and removal of the time limit and strike system.
There is also a restart level button and much more. But since it is still in rating period, I cannot upload that.
I like your suggestions regarding gameplay mechanics and really wanted to implement more of them together with more interesting levels, I just ran out of time sadly. I often start to polish when it would have been better to add more to the game first.
Will definitely keep working a bit on this one, so it feels more complete.
Loved the game, I enjoyed it a lot!
Love the presentation and how polished it all is. It feels like it could be one of the games in ufo 50
Really nice game, throwing the people around was fun, playing with physics is fun in general! I love the music, especially the looping part, I also like how the controls have momentum. However, the color of objects that could be bounce looks too much like the background, it seems like I cant go through it but I couldn't. The water and the lava have no difference, maybe add a new feature to where lava is introduced, maybe the lava could kill the person, forcing the player to try a different route. Overall, the game was cool, concept is great. Great job!
Super cool game! Loved the color palette choice. Artstyle is great. Sound design worked perfectly for the game. The movement was quite fun. Quite the novel idea as well!
One critique and change you might want to consider is:
I didn't really feel the tension during the game with the timer implemented the way it is right now. There wasn't a sense of being close to failure or failing until the timer actually ran out. It's a long time to go during the game without feeling any sort of tension. Maybe consider having a timer for each individual customer. If you don't deliver them in time, they get angry, disappear/leave somehow, and don't count towards the people count. This makes the tension felt during each delivery and a sense of urgency to complete each one instead of one long drawn out timer.
It's just a suggestion, not a definite fix.
Overall a super great game! Enjoyed practically every aspect of it.

Incredible game ! I did not know playing some form of basketball with people could be so fun.
Really cool take on the theme ! Great job :)
Very well designed! The mechanics were simple, but the game still felt like it had depth since you could perform skillful throws to get them to the goal faster. I would love to see an expanded version of this!
Good game, the art is very good, I don't know why but it reminded me of Terraria lol
This is a really great game, the art is amazing, the gameplay itself feels unique and really polished, and the entire experience is absolutely amazing, really great job there!
Extremely polished experience, well done! Throwing people around was fun and it was engaging while not being too difficult. Easy to pick up and go. My favourite of this jam so far.
Really like the chaotic and goofy vibe, flying around and just throwing people everywhere is way more fun than it should be. It feels super light and easy to jump into, and that “nothing matters” energy makes it really entertaining . Simple idea but it works really well. I’d really appreciate it if you could rate my game too
Really unique take on the jam’s theme! I liked how the mechanics are introduced gradually. Throwing the little guys around was surprisingly fun once I got used to it. Everything feels polished, intentional, and complete.
The soundtrack fit the game well, though it started to feel a bit repetitive toward the end.
Really nice job!
Great looking game made me think of animal well, loved the pixel art and the fullscreen effects. Really clever mechanics as well. Super impressive congrats !
