Amazing rhythm game! As an Osu! Mania enjoyer, I immediately felt at home playing this game, which I think says a lot about its quality. The music is very nice and the way you integrated the jam's theme into the gameplay is clever.

If I may offer one small feedback: I think the game would feel just a bit nicer if you had a different sound when you hit a "GREAT" note.

Great job!

Really nice, polished experience! I played on Normal and on that difficulty, at least for me, the pop-ups and dialogues never felt truly annoying. Maybe it's because I got used to being interrupted while working on stuff IRL? Hahahaha

Great work!

I really liked how well all the visuals (background, character art, UI) are tied together and look nice and cohesive. Great job!

Really pretty game with very nice music. Thanks for the puzzle guide, I was having a hard time with that one.

(1 edit)

Hey, thanks for the followup! I went back and played the game again and this time I got to the end, though it took a couple tries. I think I may have gone to the lakes in the wrong order, but I'm not sure if I misclicked something or if it was an actual bug. Unfortunately, I also don't remember if I had completed the dialogue near the un-pushuable boulder, but I didn't have that problem when playing it today.

Sorry I couldn't give you more detailed explanations of the problem I encountered :(

This is amazing. The way you present the controls for the game is a bit vague, but in a way that I feel enhances the whole atmosphere, which I thought was pretty clever. I also liked the attention to detail when controlling the drone, how you can see the 3D controls moving as you navigate the caves, really cool. Sound design was also on point, imo.

I did encounter some bugs... I'll list what I found here (excluding what's already been pointed out in other comments) just in case it helps you guys if you end up making a post-jam version of the game:

  • Messages/missions on the PC seemed to duplicate sometimes;
  • There was a boulder on the third island which I couldn't push out of the way and stopped me from progressing the game;
  • I tried to destroy and redeploy the drone to see if the level would reload, but instead I got thrown back to the end of the previous island. Completing that stage made me advance to the fourth day without getting all the transmissions, and making me play the third island.

Great job!

Ooohh, I see. Yeah, that's tough, especially having to juggle other aspects of the game as well. Still, good job!

You’re welcome! If you ever work on a post-jam version, I’d be happy to help with playtesting or just bounce some ideas around if you’d like.

Good job on the soundtrack! I especially liked the melody of the track that plays on the hub. I think the one that plays on the dolls stage could use a bit more variation, but I understand how hard it is to compose so much on such a short time. Congrats!

Glad you liked the soundtrack!

Thanks for the kind words and the feedback! We really appreciate it :)

Very, very interesting gameplay! I also liked how you tied the Game Jam’s theme into the writing.

I think the "defensive" aspects could use a bit more tuning. On the 3rd level, I often found myself getting hit no matter what I did. Personally, I think it would be more intuitive if more things synced to the rhythm, like enemy movement, player movement, or projectile timing, etc. But, maybe that’s just a skill issue hahaha.

One small note about the 3rd level’s music: it starts without a very clear beat, which made it a bit tricky to follow the rhythm. Maybe a more pronounced metronome-like sound could help players get oriented during the start of the level?

Thanks for sharing this game! I can see that a lot of love and effort went into it, and I had a great time playing.

Thanks! I'm really happy you liked the music, I had a great time working on it!

Glad you liked it! And thanks for the heads up about the volume jumpscare, I hadn't considered that possibility, but I'll definitely keep that kind of thing in mind for future projects hahah

Great game! The mechanics are fun and the puzzles are just the right difficulty. Nice work!

Feels like a picture book in video game form, really nice!

You guys came up with a pretty fun mechanic! With a bit more polish on the controls and clarity (like sound effects and some way to make it easier to tell the enemy has been damage), plus some more content, this could end being a cool full game. Nice job!

Interesting concept! I've never seen this type of mechanic in a rhythm game before. I think it would be better if it had clearer indications of when you're pressing the buttons and a combo/score tracker. I also couldn't understand why some of the notes would disappear before reaching the buttons sometimes, so I agree with the tutorial level suggestion.
Regardless, cool game!

Really liked this game! The aesthetic, the art, and the fishes' descriptions are great. I would love to play a more fleshed out version of this game, with more variety on the fishing minigame and some more story to it. Very nice work!

Fun, intuitive, and with a nice message. Also loved the Dr K art. Nice!
