Hey ! Thanks a lot for the feedback :)

Yeah i'm really bad at doing UX/UI (Or any form of art besides VFX), this version is far from final indeed ! I'll ask someone more talented to do it (Shouldn't be hard to find :D). This UI will definitely change in the future :)

Thanks a lot ! Even after all these hours this music makes me laugh.

Thanks a lot ! I really gave it all during these two weeks.

Getting all this positive feedback really means a lot to me !

Lots of fun ! This game has a lot of potential honestly. Clever level design, elegant mechanics and just enough challenge to feel smart when clearing a level.

With a bit more polish you'll have a VERY solid game :)

Thanks :D Glad you had fun !

Oof ! Not sure if it was worth the fun haha

Yes it's exactly that for the music :)

Thanks for the kind words, glad you had fun playing !

Yeah dw I just have questionable humor sometimes :D

Great, thanks for the info :) Cheers !

Cool concept ! I like the duality between guiding these guys like sheep but unleashing hell on them if they get a bit too aggressive :D They were a bit hard to guide but you get used to it after a while. Good job :)

Cool concept ! I like using enemy skills a lot. This is something i'm working on in another project of mine, it's really elegant imo !

Here is some advice you didn't ask for :

If you want to fix the little stutters when moving fast, it is probably because your camera is moving on a different Update than your player ! If you're using Rigidbody physics, your character will move during FixedUpdate by default. You can set it to Interpolate if your camera moves in LateUpdate so it becomes smooth again :)

You might want to add some pitch variation as well on the shots to reduce audio fatigue. Just multiply the pitch by a random number between, say 0.9 and 1.1, and it will add some cool variation on recurring SFX !

Anyway, good job ! Making AI in a jam game is hard and you did it really well !

Thanks <3 Hit me up whenever your update is up !

I talk about it a bit in my devlog if you want ! Check Days 8-9 if you don't wanna read everything :)

If everything works out, it will be a full game ! The format will change but I have fun plans :D

I'm working on the keyboard controls tomorrow, with a bit of luck i'll have a nice patch to celebrate the end of tha ratings !

I'm also surprised how well the game runs even on WebGL. In endgame there's up to 1000 zombies at once, with up to 100 spawning per second. The whole day spent optimizing everything did wonders :D

Thanks a lot for the kind words :) Hope you will like what comes next :)

Really cool take on the tower defense genre ! I like the quick minigame for spawning effects. With some balancing tweaks and a pass on optimization it should be even better.

Cheers !

Thanks a lot ! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Oh no D: did you get it back ?

Incredible game ! I did not know playing some form of basketball with people could be so fun.

Really cool take on the theme ! Great job :)

I need to study a bit more on cat jokes, and it will be purrfect !

Cat themed attacks are actually something i'm planning for the future ! To avoid circling in the middle i'll spawn some cats you will have to rescue over time, and I thought about having them jump onto the roof and cast new spells !

Oof. Wish I had a "cat thing" back then.. Really cool work though ! I enjoyed this game a lot :) Lots of inspirational quotes ! The last one was the best <3

The scarecrows were a bit frustrating since the projectiles came from quite far from them. In some cases you can't see the enemies before getting hit (It was the case a few times with scarecrows, and twice with ghosts if I recall).

Nothing serious though, it was still a great experience.

Wish you well !

Indeed ! That's entirely the point of these mechanics after all.

As for the audio, well it's an easy fix, besides that everything else is cool. Just needs more content after that and you're set :D

Wow that mood really worked well ! It gave me some backroom vibes, really effective :D

The sound when you get caught plays twice sometimes, and it's very loud x) I had to lower the volume because I got killed a lot !

Anyway, your game is REALLY creepy, but in a good way ! Good job :)

Really cool game ! I like the concept a lot : It's simple, but it has depth and meaningful choices. Clever design !

Got killed by the boss because of a bad streak, I should have rerolled but decided to gamble D:

Now you just need to add a bit more sound effects and a cool music, and everything will be top notch !

Good job :)

One of the most clever platforming games i've played in a long time !

Every stage made me feel smart for clearing it. Really, good job !

Done ! :)

Oh my ! Thanks a lot for playing :) Glad you had fun ! I'll keep working on this game for sure.

Cheers !

Space shooters are cool ! There's room for improvement though. I'll try not to repeat what was said below !

I couldn't avoid the homing missiles, they were way too fast and agile ! Since they blend a lot inside the waves of bullets coming from enemies you can't see them before they hit you.

Enemies should not stay nor shoot from off screen ! You don't know what you're shooting at because of this and it removes the satisfaction of seeing them blow up !

If you're going to play a lot of sounds from a single source (in your case, the lasers you shoot), you should pick something with a lower pitch, and add some pitch variation (you multiply the base pitch by a random number between something like 0.9 and 1.1). It removes a lot of the fatigue you get from hearing the same sound over and over !

You should check https://www.bfxr.net/  It's a great tool to produce retro sounds fast !

Cheers !

Hello there !

I'm still looking for games to test and rate ! I'll have a lot of free time tomorrow, so now's the time to send your games !

You don't HAVE to play or rate mine first or at all, I will give feedback either way :)

If you're interested though, here it is : https://itch.io/jam/game-name-game-jam-1/rate/4443401

Cheers !

That skeleton sure is persistent ! Jumping over fences was a bit misleading, sometimes it would work, but sometimes not.  Adding sounds for when the mummy gets too close could add a lot ! i've been hit a few times from behind when I was sure it was a bit further.

The concept is cool though and the mood is working very well ! I like the grass a lot, what did you use to set it up ?

Cheers :)

I SNEEZED OMG I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW. Only 7 minutes in but still, i'm mad.

Amazing concept, I can see that played by streamers as a challenge. It's pure sadism (or trolling idk). Good job !

Good evening ! I will contact you on LinkedIn directly if that's okay with you. Have a nice day !

Hey there ! Really cool concept, very polished :)

The game has balance issues in the early game. I got stomped a few times in a row, before I had a run when I got a blue weapon really fast and started one shotting enemies ! Money does not seem that useful after the first few upgrades, it stacks up so fast ! I had like 400 gold by the end of the run, and blasted the final boss.

I know that enemies have effect that havent been implemented so it's hard to tell how it goes late game but the early game sure is rough !

I had a lot of fun though ! Good job :)

I really dig games like yours ! Now I want more.

The scenario has been theorized by a few people already, and from a rational point of view this could be plausible in some way (Maybe from a cold perspective, even). AI could be the greatest thing to happen to humanity if used well, or the start of our demise. We can already see its effects on the population, lessening their ability to think and look for information themselves. It's scary to be honest.

Really cool entry, very polished and interesting ! Cheers

Dead rats would be creepy as hell :o That's actually a good idea. Maybe mix them up with the zombies, these could make good additions with their own identity (Swarm/type enemies). Thanks :)

Hi there ! Thanks for the feedback :)

What did you have in mind for the enemies ? If I add zombie dogs or something as enemies i'll be crucified by the dog lovers haha

I think I got stuck :(

Really original concept ! I do like the chill aspect a lot ! If I may suggest a few things, the "Close" button on the audio log is black for me, it took me a while to figure out I could click it ! I guess it was not intended since other menus do have the red button.

Subtitles would be much appreciated as well, it would help non-native english speakers a lot ! (Also, some folks just don't play with the sound on or with music on the side)

Anyway, I had a good time ! The voice acting is really well done and adds a lot to the mood. Good job !

Wow thanks a lot for the kind words ! Lots of things to do next but i'm genuinely excited :)

Thanks a lot ! We will see, i've played so many great games who would definitely excel in one or more categories ! There's lots of very skilled people and teams around here :) Cheers !

Most of the FX I make use like three different textures. : A ring, a circle and a full square :D. It's all about animating them and using sub emitters. A good FX uses usually 4 to 6 sub-effects to add some punch !

No shaders required most of the time, besides one I had to make to blend alpha and emissive on particles over time. It's not possible as is on the default particle system, maybe on the VFX graph idk
