This was great, a very clever interpretation of the theme. I found it quite challenging at first, but once I got the hang of how it works, it became much more manageable. Overall, excellent work, and thank you for creating and sharing it.

Developer

Thanks!

This was really good! Really clever take on the theme. I did find it to be pretty hard, but once I understood how to play it better, it wasn't too bad. Well done overall, thank for making and sharing it :)

Developer

We appreciate your feedback, glad you liked our game!

Good concept! I liked the idea, music and art style. I had some trouble understanding it but I guess it needs a few more runs. Good job.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

This was really fun! i love the concept, and the art style is really good.
It was a bit difficult to understand the controls, but once i figured it out, it went smoothly.
Really good game!

Developer

Thanks for playing our game!

  • Beautiful graphics, the game feels 3D
  • I liked the melee attack and audio
  • Triggering abilities was difficult when moving with WASD, when moving with arrows I can't use the mouse
  • The gun component was invisible, and it's OP haha
  • Bug encountered where I can't place components on empty cell
Developer

Thank you for playing!

I just realized I forgot to mention you can also click on the abilities to trigger them, not that it helps too much :))

Developer

This is a great game. It was a bit tough at first, but once I got the hang of it, the challenge felt just right. It fits the theme perfectly. I’d love to know for my own learning, how did you make the cell core look 3D? Or is everything already in 3D space? Thanks in advance.

Hey! We are happy you liked our game. Everything is fully 2D, we used a shader to make the face look like it's put on the surface of a sphere. Like these ones: https://godotshaders.com/shader/2d-spinning-sphere/, https://godotshaders.com/shader/2d-spherical-rotations-in-any-direction-from-ima... . We did some modifications to it

I love the concept and  art. It's giving Spore cell stage but with stealing instead of eating, love that. I encountered a bug where I could no longer equip parts even though I had empty slots and plenty of energy.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing!

It's probably the same bug noticed by the others where some components are invisible. I took a look at it and godot sabotaged me, variables for the poison and needlegun tiers were set to 1 in the editor, but when you start the game they are set to 0...

This game is fun. I wanted to play more, but the fact that when I die I have to start from scratch again puts me off and the start of the game is suuuuuper slow. But the rest of the game looks really good, though! Congrats on the entry!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

We didn't have the time for proper testing in order to solve this kind of issues

Very polished looking and a great concept! I feel like there's a lot of potential here for a really deep, full game :)

Developer

We're glad you liked our concept!

Really interesting idea and good work on getting all these systems set up and working for this short jam. I had trouble understanding how it all worked together and got killed really quickly.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying out the game!

I have a pretty bad tendency to overengineer things, which resulted in less time for testing/debugging/balancing :)

Spore !!!
Love the atmosphere of your game, but weird control to first click and then use ability, It's HARD...

Even after stealing everything from my first target the second Cell I made contact with, killed me immediately ..Yet again, very polished and clean !

Developer

We inspired from Spore and FTL: Faster than light, glad you noticed it! Sadly, we didn't have much time testing/debugging/balancing the game

I really enjoyed the game, especially the style, but I found the difficulty too high. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

I couldn't find the time to balance the game, there were too many modules (9 types with 5 tiers each).

This game is PERFECT, I simply loved the style, congratulations!

Took a little while to get used to the controls but had a good time once things got going.

Great job!

Thanks for playing!

It’s a brilliant idea with the microorganisms; I really enjoyed the game, but I noticed that some upgrades are missing their sprites.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I think there might be a bug with the sprites after resetting the game from the game over menu; sadly I did not have much time for debugging and balancing.

Thanks for playing!
