How is your game related to the Theme and Special Object?
It is about managing an ant colony that harvests food before the ground freezes (during the game, more things freeze).

The ants are mostly autonomous, but you can redirect them with a whistle.

Pretty fun game , like strategy it's really good  .  Cool to see your ants colecting food , but i buyed like 100 ants , and played in 10 fps :) . in all other cases the game is good .

It's great to see all the feedback here! 🙈sorry about the performance drops, classic case of "it worked ok on my machine" and maybe some wishful thinking against a deadline 😅

Thanks for the game. Squash all ants.

My Computer was screaming for help by the time I hit 100+ ants hahahahaha but damn its really2 fun!

reminds me of games back in the armorgames days lol

Feels quite complex, quite impressive. :)

My computer also got into serious slow downs in the end. :D

Reminded me of Warcraft somehow... Cool fun concept

Cool addictive game. Could feel like the art is following one original style and it is very good. A shame that it is a bit laggy and the difficulty is not well balanced. I can also feel like the whistle could have had a more important role.

Super impressive for 48 hours. Thought the game was pretty fun and the theme comes in decently well however I felt the whistle wasn't very useful in the game. I imagine there wasn't time to test the balance much because I pretty much had every upgrade in 3 minutes and was lagging my computer, hahah.

Would love to see this game fleshed out because there's a lot of cool stuff here!

I am a lover of incremental games and had a good time! I will say that the auto hatch was a dangerous move, I very quickly got to sub-5 frame rates accidentally lol. Regardless the tech tree is super cool and I enjoyed myself!

Very very nice! A couple of my ants decided to go on a strike and stopped working at some point, even whistling didn't have any effect, but we all manage to go through the hard times. A bit laggy towards the end. Loved the music. Amazing work!

Very addictive and fun game! I left auto-hatch on for a little long and the game was lagging a bit, but I did have over 200 ants.

Super cool that you managed to implement a tech tree in time you had in the jam

Fun! I'm an incremental dev too, LOL. Though for this jam I made a puzzle game.

It escalates pretty quickly, and I had to agree with the rest of the comments, I completed it without using the whistle, I felt like it would ruin the optimal strategy the ants were going for.

Still, fun game, great art. Excellent job!

I couldn't figure out how to use the whistle and i ran out of food so i couldn't increase the ants range so i just kinda lost

I really liked the way you used the whistle. I love games where you influence an ecosystem indirectly and then watch what happens.
Freeze was also a really cool mechanic, since the environment changes over time and you have to keep adapting to it.
I almost froze the game by making way too many ants, so next time I want to enjoy trying a smaller, more optimized setup

I love this kind of game! Really fun and efficient. Only frustration is that the game started lagging once I got to 70 or more ants. It's too bad because there's a great gameplay here. I love the fact that the gameplay is limited to 10 minuts (which avoids spending WAAAAAY too much type on this kind of game). I really think it's work to keep developping the project to adjust the balance as I really enjoyed playing as soon as I got my hands on it. Congrats!!!

The visuals were stunning. I loved the upgrade system and music as well!

I think the length of this is perfect for a game jam, but I would love to see a longer version too. One where you have more important interactions with the ants. The whistle was great, but also entirely optional. I used it only to see how it worked and then didn’t bother because ants were finding food quickly anyway. Maybe if ants weren’t scared of predators by default I could use it to scare them from danger.

I also think if this idea were polished up it would be awesome to see how it could expand with different biomes. Move from a colony living in the garden to one in a desert or rainforest, with new enemies and food sources that require new strategies.

As it stands, it’s a great jam game. I would love to see more, but it’s already something to be proud of. Thanks for making it!

Very impressed to see a strategy game in a weekend jam as well executed as this. Under the lashings of visual polish it was kind of easy, and slow, I met my quota and maxed out the tech tree easily within 5 minutes. Then I'm sitting writing a comment and finding faults that would go unnoticed on a shorter playthrough. I don't know if I am using it wrong, but the whistle doesn't have much of an effect. I whistle over the one remaining food source, and they still ignore me. I wonder if it is instead a call to arms, or to guard the base.

I think I'd be asking too much for any new stuff after 5m. Inspiring gameplay, but the final 5 minutes were a bit meh.

Glad you liked it! Yeah I think the ending is too dry, I ran out of time to balance 😭. For a while it was too hard.

The whistle is finicky, it distracts ants from anything but taking home food. Then it wears off, so ants might turn around if there’s a pheromone trail or something.
