Thank you for the criticism!!! 1. Humanity healing was one of my most back and forth ideas. I wanted to add it, but I also wanted humanity health to feel critical. Like you should sacrifice your ship before letting it go down. 2. I 1000% agree. I actually wanted to add a few support ships, like shield cars, drone cars, and better ways of managing them. Alas, time crunch got me lol. 3. Yeah I noticed this as well when doing my test runs. I’ve tried thinking up ways to solve this, but without a revamp of UI I really don’t know. My best guess would be to zoom out slightly and move the train car UI to the side of the page instead of the bottom. Let me know if you had any ideas! Thank you again for the comment. I really appreciate criticism as it helps so much to hear your experience as opposed to my own and my wife’s 🤣. It’s really what I value most about these jams.
You def had content. More than enough for a game jam tbh. I only want more because the idea and implementation was so solid! I finished the game but wanted to fight more XD. It's a constant struggle and you should absolutely not feel bad because you had a perfect amount of content for a jam player. (I just like it and want to play more lol. lmk if you need a playtester!!!) Also thank you for playing! I really appreciate it.
I did update the game, but it was purely to fix 2 "bugs". Nothing else changed. The 1st bug was the overheat alarm would keep playing even after you died if you died with it active. The 2nd "bug" was the tutorial said to click and drag cars to re-arrange them. I was planning on adding this but ran out of time, so I adjusted it to "click the arrows".
I did not lol! I've been making little projects for about 10 years now, except lately I've been pushing myself to actually make COMPLETE ones, if that makes sense? I'd work on something for months and it would just be a somewhat functional prototype. That's why I'm participating in jams, the time limitation really makes me think "WRAP IT UP. FINISH IT" If you know what I mean XD. Thank you so much for your kind feedback. I truly appreciate it.
Cool idea! I agree with GamingMakesFun below \/, I think a good solution to this would be to show the list of passengers as a descending list, with passengers soon to depart at the top, and passengers on for more stations at the bottom. Also another QOL, would be nice to have like a HUD that shows how many of each profession you have. Overall cool little game and congrats on the submission!
This is such an interesting submission. As a horror fan, I really loved this, and it legitimately inspired me with the idea. However If I had to leave a constructive comment, it would be that It got pretty easy to max out your stuff very early on. Because of this the levels started feeling like just click constantly and wait for the narration to allow you to continue. I think it would be super cool to have multiple little mini-games that you play in-between story beats, inspired by events happening in the story. Anyways good job, very cool! And congrats on the submission!
Pretty cool idea!! I can totally imagine this as a couch co-op hectic kinda game. It would be cool if swerving the car left and right affected the player trying to solve the puzzles, like moved the camera around or something. And if while the player was repairing, it affected certain bits of the car, like speeding it up, slowing it down, or making it so you have to manually turn. Overall a really cool implementation of the theme and special object, great job! (p.s. I was solo so I had to beat it down on my own lmao)
Really cool and polished game! I really love your implementation of the "Engine" special object! I do think in certain occasions I got stuck and had to reload the game to look at toggys instructions again as I did them slightly wrong. Like printing "Hello World" instead of "Hello World!" and setting int x = 7 instead of int x = 2. Maybe allowing you to pull up toggys instructions would help? Overall cool game and congrats on the submission!
This was super cool! You made an absolutely perfect choice w/ the music. Felt very on edge and wanted to keep that little plant alive! I also love your implementation of the errors minigame. I think having the bug chase you is such a simple but fantastic way of keeping the attention and fun of the minigame. Great job and congrats on the submission!
Cool little idea! I like the gameplay, but it was a bit counter intuitive to use D to go Left and A to go Right. I get why, but for the player's ease of use Ithink that should be swapped. Also it was very hard, or maybe I'm just bad lmao. I did not manage to complete the course with all gates, max I could get was like 5. Regardless congrats on the submission!
Thank you so much for playing!!! I think that was one thing I should have adjusted XD. 20 waves is quite a bit and it’s not really informed to the player when the ending is. I originally was going to have a simple little dialogue system for high command, “Captain be on alert, we are detecting a massive single gravitational distortion” etc. Who knows maybe I’ll update it! Again thank you so much!
