hey I love this game but I'm having a problem where it decides I'm using a control pad instead of a joystick, so i can't jump! If I unplug joystick and use my cd32 controller I can play the game but can i reset it to joystick control somewhere?
My joystick is a two button joystick but neither button nor "up" let's me jump.
if you are using UAE,
try setting the controllers to "gamepad" instead "joystick"
I'm using a real Amiga 1200 with pistorm32lite (emu68)

No I even deleted and reinstalled the game on my CF card and I start it up with 2 button joystick in the joystick port and mouse in the mouse port and yet every time i start the game it's skipping by itself through the intro as if a button is pressed, then not allowing me to jump when game starts. If I use my CD32 controller (even if I do hotswap it following the above), I can fully control the game normally. So I assume something in the game settings thinks I'm using a CD32 controller at all times.
All other games/programs behave normally.
im using a CD32 controller on real A1200 too. without problem and on A4000.
Are you using the latest version of the game V7 ?

You misunderstand me. CD32 controller works fine. But a 1 button joystick and/or 2 button joystick does not work. is there a way to fix this please? I prefer to play with joystick if possible

It certainly looks the part for sure, one would have to be insane to argue against that. It is definitely the solid basis for what could be a great game. I was trying to think what the gameplay reminded me of, and a few weeks later I've realised it was this:
The toxic liquid is constantly chasing the player, and one misstep can end the player's life, even if they are high up, but there again "high" is relative as the current level of the toxic liquid chasing the player is constantly rising. I think, with attention paid to core gameplay balancing, this could definitely become a classic.Oozes quality, so much to love here. The setting, characters, exemplary pixel art, animation, sound, music, gameplay - all absolutely top notch. Can only fault it for compatibility bugs (had to play under emulation as only ran on A4000/040 after disabling data cache - even then with no sound and the game ran in slow motion!) With more levels and bug fixes, has all the ingredients to make a near perfect AGA platformer, I hope so much that Dan gets the time to do it!
Absolute belter of a game. Feels like a classic arcade game from back in the day. Sweet gfx and gameplay!
I think it's one of the best games I've seen for Amiga.
He looks like a real Arcade.
Levels are of increasing difficulty, but well balanced. Being a beta version there are a few things to add, but overall the game is very fulfilling.
I hope a definitive version will come out
Really fantastic pixel art and animation. Love the parallax and palette choices. Feels very arcade and very Amiga at the same time. Chill music! Maybe the speed of the toxic water was a tad fast but maybe that is the challenge? A solid demo that has so much potential. Could maybe benefit from some more interesting enemies/longer levels. There were quite a few bugs in this version that I'm sure are fixed now. Very impressive entry especially for a solo developer.
Most of the bug are fixed in the beta 6

And look like we don't need fast ram anymore !

I'm a sucker for a real good frantic platformer and this really fits the bill! Awesome graphics and solid gameplay makes this one of my Top 3 games this jam!

Game crashed on A1200/060(Warp1260). Do you know how to debug it to find the reason?
It also crashes on WinUAE. For example, version B3 crashed in 1.4 (messed up GFX and after level completion - Guru Meditation). Version B4 reset the machine completely after 1.3. In my opinion there are some memory leaks.
Ill try to fix that in next versions.

I second what was said below. This is triple A game for Amiga and basically one of the better ones we got in years. It's a pity that it wasn't completed before the deadline. I am looking forward to see the full version and I hope that the game will consist tons of levels and the gameplay will be more varied. Currently the game is extremely buggy.

Triple A game, would happily buy this digital. Is it more console than arcade? Yes, but it would work in an arcade too.
Lovely GFX and sound, beaten only by its intensley accurate gameplay.

Unsure why but my comments re 030 cards on A1200 seemed to disappear since yesterday evening. I wanted to let you know that the black screen happens on both the Tsunami 1230 and also a TF1230. Hopefully this helps.

This game has pretty nice graphics/animations and gameplay is good too!
FYI. Noticed a bug when you hit 2nd fire button, the character jumps up once and then stops jumping completely even with joystick-up and 2nd button.

Are you trying to detect automatically joypad/gamepad during game?
I had a similar problem...
Switched to the start. If needed player can set up manually.
yes if player push 2nd button it disable up for jumping.
