Thanks for doing the updated video :)

Sounds got very neglected in the rush for the gamejam deadline! Will be putting in more and better sounds soon :)

Takes me right back to the 80s! Really nicely done homage to the genre. Kind of game the "tough kids" at school loved, while I was working out the trading in Elite! Once I worked out the staffing, got a lot further. Great pixel art, and nice map layout.

Nice concept, and well executed, Impressive animation on the character. Amazing that these sort of games with only one input can be such fun!

Could be the basis of something sweet. Extra point from me as a fellow assembly programmer / masochist. Something rather charming about the sprites.

Great example of what could be done later in the Amiga's life when storage moved on from floppy disk. Not for anyone who got upset watching Watership Down! Wish I still had a CRT+lightgun...

Saved one of the most fun until the end of my playthrough of the gamejam entries! Put a big smile on my face. Great stuff.  One to play with some friends and you don't need to be a pro gamer to join in :)

Really lovely submission with so much polish, depth and replayability. I've actually been struggling to find the time it deserves! Want to see the levels in the screenshots, but not succeeding in getting to them yet - this is no unfinished game or short demo! A whole new dimension added with 2 player mode (Need to get a game playing friend over as Mrs Steveb is rubbish at games). Small sprites, but with character, lots of nods to old school platformer mechanics, but with nice twists of its own. Will be coming back to this one...

I've just come to rate this but can't see how to download the GameJam submitted version, only the new update. Be great if you could provide a link please as I don't think it would be fair to rate based on a newer version. Thanks!

Thanks acidbottle, means a lot coming from a previous champ :) Lots more to come I hope...

Thanks, the radar looking thing is indeed meant to be a radar :)

Thanks :) Looking forward to adding so much more when I can find time (if not distracted playing Echodrome!)

Oozes quality, so much to love here.  The setting, characters, exemplary pixel art, animation, sound, music, gameplay - all absolutely top notch. Can only fault it for compatibility bugs (had to play under emulation as only ran on A4000/040 after disabling data cache - even then with no sound and the game ran in slow motion!)  With more levels and bug fixes, has all the ingredients to make a near perfect AGA platformer, I hope so much that Dan gets the time to do it!

Great looking and great gameplay. Sounds great too! Pixel art and static screens are lovely.

Particularly like the explosions.  Hard to make these look good on retro platforms with no alpha.

Just wish there it was easy to make the screen wider and keep the parallax - I'm sure there must be ways...

All the more impressive for only being started in December, looking forward to more!

Had fun with this, some nice ideas to twist up classic space invaders. Look forward to seeing how it evolves.  Maybe more shots, and less "there was no way I could have avoided that!" moments :)

Nice, hope this progresses to a full game :)

Hybris is my goto Amiga shump, so looking foward to this! Good luck.

Every great game starts somewhere :)

Backgrounds - with the vibrant colours and small repeating patterns. I felt it pull my focus from the play area. Loved the mascots :) Was sitting maybe to close to a big TV... Very minor critique though ;)

Echoing what has been said below, really nice presentation and music, but it was all a bit too slow and unresponsive. Love the crab monster, looks fantastic! Been watching Redpill develop, and its getting better and better. A bit faster and smoother and this could be a really good showcase.

I got hooked on this for quite some time! Nice twist on a game that I could always lose time with. Great music and presentation. Gfx style a bit noisy for my taste, and made my eyes hurt after a while (but I am overdue an eye test). Will come back for another play though...

Nice look, but gameplay is more "Game and Watch" than Amiga or arcade! More depth in the gameplay, and could be fun.

After initially being a bit confused what I had to do (and slightly overwhelmed with the jargon) I rather enjoyed this, and could appreciate the work that has gone into it. Gave me some Paradroid /Quazatron vibes which is no bad thing! Maybe a bit less text (and loading) and more gameplay there is great potential.

Love a bit of Scramble, and a great attempt, but also found it very hard! Maybe bouncing off walls, and a few lives... The foundations are there though to make something really nice.

Love this, its my type of game. The work is that has gone into this really shows, with the the attention to detail and gameplay. Hard, frustrating even, but you want to come back for more! Old school, but using the Amiga's strengths to bring it to another level, with beautifully crafted bitplane and palette effects. Sound great too. Extra points for full frame rate on a basic 68k OCS setup as well!

Thanks! Yes the enemies are a bit tough with hindsight- its ok to run away to find power ups, and push them into the trenches. Also trick them into shooting each other - AI is not as clever as we are told...

Thanks so much! I made it default to level 3 in version 1.0 so you get thrown in at the deep end :)I'm sure a seasoned game player like you can manage...

Thanks, it is indeed a side project on the Microlyte Warriors 3d engine. Tankzone became more ambitious that I initially planned though! Once it is done I hope to get back to work on Microlyte Warriors :)

Thanks for playing! Check out new version, I made it start on a level with tanks, as everyone is just looking at the intro level ;)

Thanks Saberman - if you get time, play the later levels where the better enemies come! Also newer version available with better explosions :)

Thanks for the kind words, and its really nice to have the effort appreciated! I think you are right that flat shaded vector 3d was always an underappreciated genre. Doom has a lot to answer for! Personally I love the clean look over the low-res, shimmering floating texture mapping of the time ;)

Thanks for playing, it certainly wasn't easy to develop, but good fun! I hope it is one of the good ones for you ;)

Thanks for playing and the kind words! I tried to make it close enough to Battlezone to help fit into the arcade theme of the jam. But also add other elements such as collecting, pushing, deadly pits, and power ups. Hope to finesse the gameplay a lot more after the jam - on playing it I think I made it a bit hard!

Thanks for giving it a play! Its not very obvious but you need to deliver the presents to the "pit" just in front of the house ;) Last version for now just uploaded, but look out for my entry to AmigameJam using the engine in just a few weeks...

:)

Thanks Saberman. Happy New Year!
