  • Love the base idea for the game. Things to think about for future games, or if you want to update this one: - A better indication of items that can be clocked on. I found myself clicking everything and anything. - The light would have felt more integrated with the world if it was a light beam, say from a flashlight, that started from the character and followed your mouse cursor. - Having the message popups only disappear by walking away is a bit confusing. We want to press E or escape normally for that type of effect. Final note: I was stuck once the castle key was found. I didnt know where to go.

I really enjoyed your puzzle game! The flashlight and music gave some great suspense, and the weeping angel statue (Dr. Who reference?) had me worried for a second. I was ready for the angel or the scarecrow to start attacking... honestly glad they didn't!

I look forward to playing more if you end up extending the game!

Thank you so much for your comment and for playing my game! I’m planning to improve it further.

Really good Idea to play around the light, good entry !

Developer

Thank you so much for playing my game!

Very well-made game, very well done, especially the mechanics. It's not long, but it's clear and easy to use and understand. It's definitely one of the best in this JAM, although I won't deny hoping for something more paranormal, like something moving (or maybe I just didn't find it, jajajaja x⸑x)). We had similar ideas, but you pulled it off better than me. Congratulations! I hope you win the JAM (҂◡_◡) ᕤ

Developer

Your comment really made my day. I actually thought about adding some moving elements, but I couldn’t combine them with the light mechanics in just three days. Thank you so much for playing my game! <3

Very spooky entry, I really enjoyed it! The audio was very nicely done and, along with the light mechanic, made for an atmospheric experience. My heard dropped when I examined the statue and the description said "it seemed alive for a second" haha

I was a bit confused when I reached the castle but I assume that was the end of the game - the text at the end there was very intriguing so I look forward to seeing more!

Thank you for playing my game! It’s just a mini puzzle for now, but it will be better once I extend it. I’m really glad you liked it!

Really liked this one! I'm not sure, but should there be a way into the castle or does the game end when you exit the village this point? Very well done, smooth, athmospheric, just really good experience. :)

Developer

Thank you for playing my game! That exit button actually means exiting the game :D It’s just a mini puzzle for now, but it will be better once I extend it. I’m really glad you liked it!

I really liked the ideas you had here.  Fun little hint text, really chill / creepy music, and the light mechanic was a bit fun.  The light could've definitely been 50% larger and you'd still have an awesome mechanic without being as frustrating, but overall, this was really cool.  Great job.

Developer

Thank you for playing my game. I’m glad that you like it. Most of comment said about light size. I’m gonna fix it if i extend the game.

Bro the light is minuscule. It's really hard to play with a large screen, I could hardly see anything. I do like the concept a lot. I wouldnt mind seeing this in a longer game.

Developer(+1)

I tried with bigger light but game is so easy like that :D . Thank you for playing my game.

Very interesting game. The gameplay was okay, but I really loved the sound design and thought the concept was very unique. My main nit-pick with this is the use of the mixed mediums (the pixel art and the vector art used interchangeably was very inconsistent),  and how blurry the pixel art was. I really liked how interactable everything is, although in the Kitchen, you misspelt "hungry" as "Hungary"

Developer

Thank you for playing my game. Yep i noticed misspelt :D I’m gonna fix it. Thank you for warrning. I’m glad that you like my game :)

The greyscale look really makes the game more atmospheric (: I was a bit uncomfortable with the small lighting at first but it added to the immersion I guess. This is pretty good for a first game jam, keep it up! :D

Thank you for playing my game. I’m glad to you like it.

It seems i can't play past exiting the gate in the web player, it freezes when i click exit.

So far i really love the atmosphere, the use of the spotlight was very nice and added to the immersion instead of just feeling like a walking simulator! I really enjoyed the jokes hidden in the interactions with random objects.

Developer(+1)

That exit means quit from game :D . Thank you for play my game. I really glad that you liked it!!

The idea is great; the cursor is used as a flashlight to find the key to open the door. Adding shadows when the flashlight sweeps across certain areas could enhance the spooky atmosphere.

Feels apocalyptic, good work. I suggest turning on the nearest filter on some sprites to make them not blurry, and the light could be larger.

Very good entry for your first game jam! The tense feeling of only seeing a little is great for the atmosphere!

Nice game, hope you expand on it! Loved the little messages scattered around the map! Tea time!

Developer

Thank you so much!! You're right we need more puzzles maybe i can add lockpick and more maps with story line...

The limited light is a cool idea, particularly reading the letters made me feel like I was trying to read them with only a candle as a light source. Finished it, but I wish there were more keys, mabye puzzles and more stuff to click on :)

Thank you so much!! You're right we need more puzzles maybe i can add lockpick...

I found the keys! They are so small haha! Cool game, really liked the way you used light. You should totally make a puzzle around the well! Have the key down there or something

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. That’s awesome, i’m so glad you completed it! Making puzzle around the well sounds exciting!!

Submitted(+1)

I really like mechanics with lightng object to use them, even to light the guide at the start. Unfortunately i couldnt find any keys, i am not sure if i missed something :(

Developer

Thank you so much. First key is the hardest one :D

Submitted(+1)

I wish I could play more of the game but I'm stuck in  the main room cause I cant find the key. I dont know if this is a itch bug but your game has no full screen button and therefore its very small of my screen so its really difficult for me to see anything on the screen. Other than that, it is really well done and I like the color pallets and music a lot.

Developer

Thank you so much <3. Actually first key is the hardest one :D
