Thank you!

The change from specter to character was definitely on purpose, although I do want to make them look more "ghostly" if/when I update it. At the very least, maybe they will float up and down or something 😅

Thank you!

You know... I am not sure o.O....

Let's go with: she was the party priestess/healer and (due to a divine revelation) knew she would be the last. Thus, she kept coffins on hand in her dimensional storage for when her party members fell... yeah... Imma go with that!

I hope you like my impromptu explanation!

Thank you. I used "Game Character Hub: Portfolio Edition" to create the characters. It works wonderfully with RPG Maker.

A Frieren comparison is very appreciated!

Thanks!

Thank you!

I am glad you loved the concept and felt the bitter sweetness of the Keeper of the Graves!

I definitely should fix the music up. My only change to it thus far was to make it not super loud. I definitely put this through as a rush job, and I knew if I kept tweaking things it would never stop.

I really enjoyed your puzzle game! The flashlight and music gave some great suspense, and the weeping angel statue (Dr. Who reference?) had me worried for a second. I was ready for the angel or the scarecrow to start attacking... honestly glad they didn't!

I look forward to playing more if you end up extending the game!

I really enjoyed the game (up to the 3rd level where I kept running into walls...so I could not continue).

The controls almost felt like I was going in the opposite direction than expected, but that could have been me. I enjoyed the smoothness of the movement, and I really liked the changing of the walls with the colors.

I was bummed I lost my tail because of the wall a few times, but I eventually learned to circle a bit before eating the bugs near the walls.

The music was great and it felt properly spooky!

I definitely found myself spamming the SPACE bar and running into far too many spikes, but I had a ton of fun and made it all the way to the end!

Thanks for the fun!

Well crafted. Brought tears to my eyes. I loved the progression of the story reflected in the graphics!

Also, I second the comment about the music being very fitting—also relaxing.

Amazing! Thank you! And, yes! Credits will be present in the description, in any learning material, and at the end of the lessons.

Hello! I am beginning the creation of a series of RPG themed courses (in programming, writing, and more). I was wondering if I could use some of your characters as images in the course: they would represent the "bosses" and other "monsters" that need to be "defeated". None of the images will be given out.

I did! I loved the subtle connections too! Especially when the outcomes come from both sides.

Thank you so much for playing and for creating this jam! You may refuse the credit, but the idea likely would have never become what is it without this jam—perhaps something else, but not Louisa's laundry filled world. So, again, thank you.

Regarding the scrap: the writing does eventually earn you scrap, but you have to write enough "pages" to get to the point of being able to submit it. At this point, the thing that looks like a blue trash can accepts your piece, and you get one scrap for every written "page" (every writing interaction at the desk creates a "page").

Since it was a simulation that somehow ended up being close to how poverty can feel, I left the rules for play vague. Perhaps, too vague, however.

And yes! I think some nice music and some tragic weather could be a great addition.

Currently, this is just a beginning. There is no way to progress past the writing and laundry, yet.

After the game jam, I hope to add more: including a plumbing issue that prevents saving until fixed!

The rhyming unexpected
yet embraced with glee
words carefully selected
and placed gently.

Thank you for the fun lilting of the words and tones—even through the darkness.

The walking sounds at the end were a little much for me, but I otherwise enjoyed the music and sound effects.

Ultimately, this was highly creative and fun!

I was not prepared for the twist with the one potion (allusion, to not ruin the surprise). I was even less prepared for the huge tug on my emotions at the end. Who knew I would become so attached so fast?

The artwork felt like more implication than definition—it felt right for a game where the outcome of actions can feel just as ambiguous.

Creativity, Presentation, Gameplay, Audio, and Fun

Tiles were not just placed, decisions were made.

This game's core is woven through every scene, every asset, every part of the game.

The chance to see multiple endings, and the twists which they held, was by far my favorite part. Also, I love the note about which ending was reached—great for repeatability.

Creativity

"Time is Missing." Love it!

The foreshadowing hints were great.

Gameplay

I enjoyed the ability to search all the bins and drawers without it feeling futile (one does NOT want to see me play Skyrim...).

The foreshadowed "Combine?" when there was still nothing to combine made it easy to know where to go.

Presentation

There is no page, no description. Only a name and a game. Fun, but not the most inviting with the blank page.

That said, the UI and the title screen fit wonderfully.

Audio

The music and sounds were not overly intrusive—a common issue that I believe even mine faces (I need to stop testing on mute).

Fun

I loved it! It was not a long game by any means, but it was enjoyable at every turn and every click.

Disclaimer: I really enjoy making maps. I also generally do not like the locked in gird system offered in RPG Maker MZ. I also prefer intractable tutorials, but that is more preference.

The Thoughts

I loved building with this map! It felt alive as I played. Thank you for the fun Town Builder!

Regarding the Gameplay: the text was cut off, making the tutorial's instructions incomplete. I also felt the tutorial was a bit long for my taste.

The Screenshots

Hello!

You can only earn scrap through writing multiple times at the blue-gray desk (the thing with papers and no chair) in the current version—accurate as of May 10th, 2025.

Sorry for the delayed response. I hope you will "play" again once more of the simulation is available—I will release a Development Log at this time.

Please note, this simulation is not meant so much to be won, as to be experienced.

I love when the random generators create real objects! 🤣
