Amazing lore and dialogue! The atmospheric music and sounds helped set the tone of the game. The trypophobia scare got me good. I enjoyed both endings.
Thanks so much for the kind words! To be honest, a large part of the purpose of the trypophobia bit is just to unsettle people, so it's good to hear that it served it's purpose!
Great atmospheric game with the
cultChurch of True Peace being so interesting, and I was actually surprised by the game's time period as well. The sound effect and art really elevate the overall theme. Overall very tight game with maybe a bit potential for world building.Though I was wondering, I got Fiona constantly questioning her faith but got the ending with her totally in the faith, is that intended, or was I not reading it correctly?
Yep, that's correct! The idea is that she questions them enough that she won't blindly believe Ben's lies, but since that results in him lowering his guard and going, "Great, well the church kind of sucks and they do bad things!", that's too much for her - she won't believe anything that negative about the church.
And thank you for the kind words, of course!
Oh I see, interesting indeed
Hey, this was absolutely fantastic! The writing was really strong, the art looked great, and the music fit the tone and scenes perfectly. I especially loved the idea of telling the story from the perspective of a devoted cult member — it kept me on edge the entire time, wondering what would happen next. I might come back soon to try the second ending. Amazing work!
This is so great to hear, thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it so much, thank you for the kind words!
Intriguing story with great writing. The art also fits well. I didn't see those endings coming. I kinda wish we had more information about the tower, the Father, or the religion in general. Still, great game!
Thank you so much! With a bit more time I absolutely would have expanded on them, but there was only so much that could be done during the jam time!
I really enjoyed this! Fiona's journey as she struggles with whether or not to question the church, and the ultimate outcome based on that, was intriguing. The story was well written, the characters thought out, and the fact that the choices lead to a different outcome than you might expect was a nice twist!
I also loved the "Patience is a virtue" loading screen way more than should be reasonable.
Great job!
This is all really appreciated; thanks for taking the time to play it!
Hi, Too Many Teeth (great name)! I played and voted for your game on stream and I'm posting here for your own feedback and promotion. Would be happy if could rate and comment your thoughts on my game submitted to this jam! Enjoy and thanks for your consideration. - Kyle
Thank you so much! I'd be happy to do so for your entry in turn, but I'm not actually sure which game on your page that is - let me know and I'll take a look when I've got the time!
That would be awesome! My game was removed from this jam. (along with my comment below from the jam host). But I'm excited to hear your thoughts, good or bad on my main game page for The-Teeth-of-Berenice ! Good luck with the jam!
Loved the character designs! The story was written wonderfully and felt very suspenseful up to the very end, I enjoyed every moment of it! :)
(Also Sebastian did scare me a bit, great job on him)
Thanks so much, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I'll admit that Sebastian mostly exists to try and creep people out, so it's good to hear that his purpose is working!
This was fantastic! I love a story about the cult.
The choice for 2 different art styles was a really cool feature. (I might want to try that in my work sometime.)
Thanks so much, glad to hear that you enjoyed it! The idea for the two presentation styles came when a friend commented that they preferred my art style in black and white, so I figured I should indulge them :)
Very good story. Several sub-layers. The main character is very good. I would have liked to have seen more about the religion. Maybe I missed some details. :)
Thank you, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! In an ideal world I'd love to go into more detail on the religion but, alas, during jam time there's only so much that can be done!
I love this so much! The design is unique and the story is so creepy; I tried both endings (poor Fiona!) — this was so well done. Excellent work!
Thank you so much, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to cleanse the world from evil!
The character designs are very memorable. The backgrounds perfectly capture the mood and gave me a trapped-in feeling. The UI is gorgeous, that must have been a lot of work.
In my first run I tried to be a good girl and never question the church. It is such a nice twist and good commentary on how cults work that I still ended up sinning against the church. Even though thankfully the water purified me.
You really nailed down the gaslightning and doublethink. Great game!
Thank you for taking the time to play the game! The church punishing you and gaslighting you into genuinely believing that you were a problem was a large part of the genesis for the concept, so I'm glad to hear that it worked for you!

Very nice game! :D
I really like the feature of being able to turn on/off color, that's really cool!
All the UI and text is really polished, giving the game a great, finished feeling!
I got the ending where you just do everything without question and died. :D
The art had great perspective, otto was super expressive for some reason haha, and the music was really nice, too! =]
All in all, a nice little game, very self-contained and easy to digest!
I'm gonna give some criticism now, so please don't get offending, this is just my opinion!
- A lot of the locations we visited seemed kind of stale, with several of them serving the exact same purpose, (show ben stuff, don't ask questions), although the Forge was interesting as it had more interactions, and a music change! Maybe consider having each location have a unique premise, or a special gimmick/theme, like the forge and Sebastion's room.
- There weren't any cgs, if I can recall; the backgrounds were very nice, but most of the art were sprites, in the same style; I'm not sure how big your team was, but having a couple of paintings with a different style would've been cool to highlight certain moments, but this one is more of a stylistic choice then anything, the art was still nice. :D
That's about all I got, all-in-all it's a really cool, a couple a things could've been improved, but it didn't ruin the eperience, it's still amazing! :D
Oh, if you don't mind, do you think you could maybe play/rate my game? I'd really, really appreciate it! ^^
Anyways though, very cool, have an excellent day and GOOD LUCK WITH JUDGIN'! >:]
Thanks for taking the time to play the game! Glad to hear that the UI and text feels polished because a lot of the time I'm just working off vibes and I can never tell whether what works for me will work for other people.
I do agree with you that the different locations are a bit repetitive; the intention was to do a bit of worldbuilding and expanding on how things in The Church work, so I can see that if you're not that interested in that side of things it can drag a bit. I do feel like each of them has its purpose, but I'd definitely make each location a bit more punchy if I wasn't restricted by the time limit of the jam.
Regarding the CGs,we might be using different terminology here because there are three of them - one when you're in the hospital, and then one for each ending. They're viewable in a gallery from the main menu after you've unlocked at least one of them. Minus some feedback from friends and some tips from a friend regarding the GUI, this is entirely a solo project, so doing a different style for the CGs wouldn't have been super easy for my drawing skills, haha.
I'll happily take a look at your game once I've got the time, no prob!
If that's a solo project, I take that all back, that's AMAZING!!! :0
(also tysm 😭)
Amazing title, solid 5/5. I have a special place in my heart for dystopian/cult stories, so this one had a great advantage from the start. The story being told from the perspective of fully indoctrinated person was a fantastic idea, and Ben's character does its job perfectly in filling the gaps reader might not get from Fiona. I was genuinely shocked when the game tricked me into achieving the bad ending while I thought I'm doing the right thing, that was a genius play! Artstyle is very beautiful too.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I wasn't 100% certain that all of the information wheedled out by Ben would flow well or be interesting, but I'm glad to hear that it wasn't the case!
