Interesting narrative with a fun twist, I never thought my graphics card would become part of a video game like that lol. The characterisations were so fun, I was routing for Pastoriche the whole time and the end really hit me. It was fun exploring beyond the tents and seeing the edges of the world, and that perspective shift really wow'd me. Loved how the final bossfight worked; a very creative project so many neat games, incredible you got that many done!
Thank you so much for all the kind words EgpNoodlez! We haven’t written a story for such a long time, but we wanted to get back into it this year! We tried to tackle themes of escapism, friendship and personal growth and I’m so glad the ending had such an impact.
Really cool game. The meta stuff worked really well, and that perspective shift was sick as hell. Had a great time, nicely done!
Thanks Barrelbot! The shader took alot of R&D to mask the 3D world and I’m so glad you enjoyed the results!
Its always fun to see the ways your games break the 4th barrier.
It took me a sec to figure out the password at the start, I started by checking if you hid it somewhere in the files once just typing "Skremplet" didn't work.
Beyond that the scope of this game is also pretty wild!
Thank you Leotimer! The 60 games was definitely alot of work but I’m pretty happy with the results! And don’t worry, I couldn’t figure out the password the first time my brother showed me either XD
I really like how you manage to push the boundaries of what a game can be and do. Every year you keep surprising us! Love the art style, the story twists and reveals.
Thank you so much for the kind words Edwin! I’m glad to have made such an impression this year! It’s always fun to surprise Kyle and chat, and we even have a few ideas for next year!
The art is so, so sick. Love the game variety and creativity. Great work!!
Thank you Macmay! I did soooo many drawings for this one XD. I should pick something easier next year lol
This game dreams! The perspective shift and the multi window fight are both really sick and inspiring.
Thank you! I’m super glad you enjoyed the final boss, the multi game effect took so much to get right.
Love the vibes and I'm always a sucker for great mini games. Also the papery aesthetic is really cool. Great job!
Thank you Kabloop! Glad you enjoyed the minigames! We chose the papery aesthetic based on the old mario design docs, since it was simple enough to use for 60 games. Plus it really masked the 3D nature of the world.
Whoa, it's 3D?! Never would have guessed. Fantastic work!
Loved all the hand drawn elements and the shift to 3D! Can't believe you got all those mini games done in a month!
Thank you!! It was ALOT of work but the opportunity was hard to pass up, with 60 skremplets and all. I even took time off work to get them all done
Now that's dedication! Great job!!
A very interesting game. The visual style really stands out and is just odd enough that it masks the twist that the sweater provides. Obviously with so many different minigames not all are created equal but the ones I tried were all nice in their own ways.
I was a bit disappointing that the post minigame dialogue dissapeared after a while since it made the minigames feel less cohesive to the overall game world.
All in all a very good submission that surprises and delights at many turns.
Thanks for all the kind words AFB! We had more post game dialogue planned but it was unfortunately cut for time 😅.
Really cool twist after you put on the sweater. The final fight across multiple windows is a super cool mechanic too. Really great stuff.
Thank you Balbot! The shader was so fun to work on and I’m glad it really sold the effect!
This game is a lot of games! Great art and story twists.
Thank you so much!
Probably the most wild gameplay twist in the whole jam! When it turned 3D and you see all the other tents it truly felt like breaking through to another dimension. I can't believe how many mini games you managed to make in such a short time!
Thanks! So happy the 3D shift worked out! I was inspired by one of last years jam's games and I've been super excited for this jam to try it out!
The paper art is so charming. This felt like a good visual novel. Good job!
I'm glad you liked it! We really wanted to try a more story first game this year, and push our art further too!
I like the overworld art, went all the way left & right to check it out. Also, I like the character design on Gretchen and Pastoriche! Getting a grey screen after clicking on Boyhowdy 3-4 times in the tent though
Hey Jimmothy, thanks for trying out our game! Yeah, developed the game on mac, and didn't realise that on windows, the dialogue plugin that I was using was crashing on its second conversation. I didn't make the plugin so figuring out the bug took forever! Glad I got it sorted 30 mins before Kyle played it lol
