How does the game fit the theme?
You're risking your (squire's) life to get what you need. Mechanically you make risky shots with lots of trial and error.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I took the throw sound from a previous game I made and used, audio managers (code) from previous projects and an existing font "RoadPixel."
How many people worked on the game?1

This was super fun! Great bouncy sounds, cute characters, just a great job all around. I actually persisted all the way through to the end! I did find the music a little repetitive, but other than that, I really liked it all. Great work!
Thanks for playing and completing all the levels!
Fun game, really smart to put a skip button so if people is stuck doesnt get frustrated and can still see all the puzzles!!! Good job :D
Thanks for playing!
Fun but difficult game. Plays really smooth and is done really well for the type of game it is. I would recommend adding a previous throw trajectory line so you don't have to keep guessing how to throw and maybe adding an additional mechanic mid flight so the player has something to do after the throw. Overall good job though. 🤗
Thanks for playing! Did you have something in mind when writing the mid-flight/after throwing mechanic?
Haven't put much thought into it, but maybe like press space and it will drop you straight down or hold space for more power. Obviously limiting the usage of it. Just something that the player can do to alter their trajectory mid flight.
Fun game. Simple but effective at what it does, steady introduction of new boxes keeps it fresh. Got stuck at lvl 9. Maybe the game also needs something to do either in-between throws to somehow improve the odds or something to do while the ball is going, because right now player has only 1 variable to express skill and that is initial throw.
Good job!
Thanks for playing and the feedback! Hmm, I'm convinced your experience is due the level design issues. Because you are not limited to the first throw but the levels don't really lean on that fact, rather reinforce the "one throw - one chance" thinking.
And I don't see many meaningful options to do in-between throws.. Actually, I got an idea to test. Cheers!
The gameplay is pretty fun, but it seems like most levels were made to be beaten in 1 throw yet you can keep going after the first. Overall, it's pretty fun and I like the physics based gameplay.
Thanks for playing! It is a design choice to give as many throws as you need. Although now that you mention it there could be more levels that actually utilize it.
Aside from some bouncing parts and the indicator being a little misleading, this is a good puzzle game and character design is wonderful
On level 9 the monkey sometimes gets stuck on the platform and just shaking on the floor, so try to fix that and may be add sound effect for the squire bounce off
overall fun experience for me :)
Thanks for playing. I thought I got rid of that bug. There is a bounce sound but I guess it was too low on volume.
This one is particular difficult due to the physics-based gameplay, but I got a heck of a good minute out of it. I love on how you implemented the risky throwing with bouncy platforms, plus the fact that it's basically Angry Birds, but if it took a medieval turn, and no green piggies. The only complaint I have is that the music can get repetitive if you stay around for a long time. Overall, 4/5 stars! Great work, CodeRaurus! Check out my game if you have the time: Owlet and the Biscuit Tower by Joshington" and let me know what you think of it. Thanks a million if you do! ⚔️🍪
Hey, thanks for playing and the feedback. The track is not super long, but at least it is a lot more than in my previous jam game :D That one went to the extreme...
Your game is in my queue, no worries.
Considering this is solo, its decent! Plenty of levels as well & while the path the squire took does get a bit random with many different block mechanic later on(disappearing, slime, rotating), its fun to see the squire bounce around a little differently each time.
Thanks for playing. Yeah, I didn't quite get the bouncing as intended, especially with the rotating blocks.
- Merlin, how do I control the monkey?
- Tha's the tricky part: you don't.
Reminds me of Jump King and Shovel knight of course. Sutisfying and plain simple. Very nice game!
Hehe, thanks for playing!
I found the launch indicator a bit misleading (or the force scaling less than linearly with it). I think having a ghost of the last launch would have improved the experience since small corrections would differ in very different trajectories. Art is amazing, very cute/fun. Overall great game!
Yeah, I understand. I also felt the indicator wasn't quite there yet. It's meant to indicate the launch power, not necessarily the trajectory of the squire itself. Though, that could be an improvement. Ghost feature also sounds interesting, might give it a try later. Thanks for playing!
Wow, really cool! I love this pixel art. I finished the game and only realized at level 2 that it had restarted from the beginning hahaha.
Haha, glad to hear I got at least one into the loop :D Thanks for playing.
I love the visuals and the overall gameplay. It is fun and entertaining. Great game :)
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for playing!
I love the pixel art and mechanics. Why is there a fetus in the dirt????? Lvl 9 is evil!
Thanks for playing! F-fetus?! You tell me, I do not know!
Great visuals, pretty fun, loved it !
Thank you for playing!
Great visuals, loved the pixel art!
Thanks for playing!
I like the artwork and the mechanic between the characters. The gameplay was fun, but those green blocks will haunt me haha. I do think limited lives per level would have added to the risk factor Nice one!
Thanks for playing! I could have limited the lives but I wanted to let players try the whole package with ease.
A nice game, simple and intricete, great visuals and theming, well done.
Hey, thanks for playing!
i like the concept, Good Job
Thanks for playing!
Visually great and interesting game! When it came to some of the later levels with the spinning blocks mixed with the green bounce ones, it became too random for me (I did miraculously finish though lol)... like I had to hope a series of random events would get me to the end
Thanks for playing. I completely agree with you, that specific level requires luck. Unfortunately I had to rush the levels in and that is the end result. I did test and complete it, thus it remained in the level pool.
100% I get you. We hit that as well with some of our mechanics lol. Also thanks for trying ours as well!
knight looks unhorned, but game is still cool!
Maybe he gets the horns in future updates... And a shovel, perhaps? Thanks for playing!
