This might be a browser bug, because I'm on Microsoft Edge, and I'm able to move to the right no matter what. I'll try to get it fixed, but can you specify on what browser you're using?

Twisted Studios, I REALLY don't want to be too critical on this game, since this is your first game you ever made, but there are a LOT of things I recommend you fix. For starters, I read the comments, and apparently some people were experiencing a bug after they completed Level 5, so I highly recommend you fix that. 2. There's no audio in plain sight. Not even a tune or whistle. 3. While I kinda like the theme implementation, it definitely feels like something I've heard of before. 4. The platforming gameplay is nice, and the penguin artwork is cute, but it gets repetitive and bland real fast. Overall, I like on what you're trying to achieve, but try focusing on the execution of your work next time, and I hope my advice helped you and that you can make better games with Godot in the future!
Hi twdoor! I have some pretty good feelings about your game! For one, I simply LOVE the boss fight, and with it being just Godot icons, it added a unique flair of personality to the game instead of being just your giant evil mecha. This could be a great source of inspiration for whenever I'm making a 2D platformer boss fight. Two, I like the control layout, and the animations and tweening are really well done. Feedback Time!: The game doesn't really follow the theme very well outside of "You see a weird, 3D rotating cube and pick it up, and boss fight time.", and there's no audio to add to the game. But still, spot-on game, twdoor!
Hi ISamAtlas! I just played your game, Repair Alien Parasite, and it's a pretty good game, not gonna lie. I love the fact that this game combines platforming with Get Over It by Bennett Foddy, and while this game is short, it's really tons of fun! I also like the added time limit of you reaching the exit on time. But the lack of audio in this game is a huge letdown for me in my opinion, but I can get on where you're coming from since you're not really the best in making tunes. Also, this game doesn't really follow the theme all that well, but nevertheless, still a quality Godot game in my viewpoint!
I just played your game, Kahn, and honestly, I have pretty mixed-to-positive feelings about it. For one, while I like the core concept and execution of the theme, plus the points system and music, for one, the game was a bit too complex in my opinion (Yes, I did read the instructions.), and how not all the time does the out of place stuff can be considered, well, out of place. I would recommend putting the more obvious out of place objects and then players can quickly merge the duplicates for added bonus points, so that they can keep putting the out of place objects into the bin and keep racking up points without making it too easy. But really, this is just my own silly personal opinion on this game. Really solid game, Kahn! This is a good top contender right here!
Dabble Games, I actually already played Pig Chomp 2 two days ago, and I have mixed feelings about this game. While I like the core Pac-Man concept, to where it's pretty much endless and that you're a piggy bank, the Audio itself can get repetitive for a long time, and the game doesn't really follow the theme itself. I don't think I found anything that had anything to do with Out of Place. Still a pretty nice game tho! 3.5/5 stars!
Hey! I just released my second GDevelop game titled "Ba-Chigai" (which is Japanese for "Out of Place", btw), for the Queble's Jam - 2026. You can check out the jam here: Queble's Jam - 2026 - itch.io. The project was made over the course of the jam in 6 whole days, and it interprets the theme of the jam, "Out of Place". Here's the link to the game if y'all want to check it out and play it: Ba-Chigai (場違い) by Joshington.
Premise: In Ba-Chigai, you play as Kimyouna, who can't run fast nor jump high, and you’ll need to use whatever broken, unfinished, or “forgotten” mechanics the environment offers—moving platforms, strange power-ups, jittery glitches, and even dragging yourself around the level when nothing else works.

Glad you liked the game, Riev_AX! Also, I fixed the bug for when Tomatie was shooting to the left, the screen jittered heavily. You should be good to go now. And also, for the mirror stage after the first stage, I was meant to have the level layout be the exact same as the first scene, but I accidentally got it a little disoriented, but I kept it anyway to help fit the dark, psychological horror atmosphere.
Alright, Ahmedowski. I just played Google Protector, and it's a pretty simple and straightforward "point-and-click" shooter. I really love the designs of the parasites, plus the fact that you're basically trying to protect "Chrome". I also like the added screenshake effects you added, and the combo system, too. But really, that's all about it. It's simple, straight-to-the-point, and accessible. Still a pretty fun game! Overall, 3/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐. Kinda made me a little bit uncomfortable with both the Title Screen and thumbnail being generated by AI.
Ahmedowski, I tried to play your game, Google Protector, but I can't seem to get it to run on the web, as I keep getting an error message that says: "An embedded page at html-classic.itch.zome says", and then a bunch of grammatical nonsense. I was wondering if you could release a Windows build of the game, because I guess that would have the game run better on my laptop.
Alrighty then, DeadRats. I just played your game, Parasite Rumble, and it's actually quite a good game! For one, the artstyle is amazing and gritty, and I really love the gameplay here, as you're essentially going head-to-head with other parasites in order to take down the enemy parasite to win. You can buy numerous upgrades to upgrade your parasites, and judging from one of the screenshots, it can sometimes get a little chaotic if you got one too many parasites on-screen. The only downside I have with the game is that sometimes the parasites can attack the enemy parasites and sometimes they don't, as in near the end of my first run, my health bar depleted so fast, that my parasites had no time to attack the enemy parasites, and I got a Game Over. Still a game that's loads of fun! 4.5/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌗. Keep up the good work on your game dev journey, DeadRats!
I AM POKEBRO, I tried to play your game, Nation Saver, but I really couldn't, as initially, my computer wouldn't even download the game because apparently, the game file has detected some sort of "virus", but after a couple of hours, I managed to download the game, and play it. Also, the game ran poorly on my laptop, and I rated it anyways judging from the looks. For one, while I like the 3D artstyle and the interesting story, I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do, as there was no tutorial or anything. I would recommend not saying your game is awful and focus more on the core features on what your game even is, and also a little tutorial on what you're supposed to be doing. I don't want to rate your game low, because I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings, so I'm just going to say this: Your game has potential. Don't trash-talk it.
Apexium Games, I really don't want to be critical on this one, but I can definitely see a couple of issues with this game. For one, I kept doing the same thing over and over again, taking the phone in the gameroom, turning off the bedroom light, switching the power on in the basement, etc., and I really couldn't find anything interesting from the screenshots the game had. I can definitely see some potential here, as given for the aesthetics and the fact that I believe that this game was made in Twine. While the game does look nice with its dark atmosphere, the gameplay is what I thought to be a boring, endless loop of doing the same thing over and over again. Maybe I'll come back to this game and see what's really hidden in the surface of this game. Overall, 2/5 stars. ⭐⭐. Can definitely see some potential here.
dinhoinz, this might be the best New Year SkillUp Game Jam I've ever played. For starters, the artstyle. It's so simple yet versatile and impactful, and the music compliments the artstyle very well. The gameplay is really unique, as you're basically trying to climb your way upwards while avoiding the "immune system", whether it be a worm, a triangle, or a jellyfish-like creature, they all have different jump heights that, when freeing them from possession, they give you a bit of an aerial boost that can definitely help if you're trying to reach a high place or cross some tricky gaps. I did get stuck a few times during my first few runs, but that was on me. Overall, 4/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Outstanding work, dinhoinz!
DeadRats, you're game looks literally awesome, and I've got a good feeling that this is a top contender for the New Year SkillUp Game Jam. However, I can't get the game to run on my laptop, as it almost crashed the webpage. I was wondering if you could release a Windows build of the game, because I guess that would have the game run better on my laptop.
Hi Kosmilo! I just played your game, In Our Blood, and honestly, I have pretty mixed feelings about this game. For starters, I really love the gritty pixel art aesthetic, and that you're playing as a parasite (Which is basically the theme for this jam) who's taking down all of the good cells who are trying to stop you. Plus with the additions of upgrades that can help you overcome the good cells. However, I wish that I would move just a bit faster than what I would normally move at the start, because on my first few runs, I died pretty quickly before I got to choose one of my upgrades, which were Speed, Health, and Bullets. Plus, I just wish there was a little tutorial section basically teaching the player on the controls and what to do. But overall, great game Kosmilo! 3.5/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐🌗
Thanks! Oh, and by the way, I'm all finished with the Demo version of Platform Kid, which only contains the first world, Grassy Valley. Here's the link: Platform Kid by Joshington. Go check it out if you have the time! Also, I already used a pixel art cave background made by lilCthulhu. Sorry about that. Hope you can improve on pixel art as a whole on the way!
Hi! I’m Joshua (my internet alias is Joshington), I live in Georgia in the United States, and I’m a 15-year-old solo indie game dev. I run a game development studio by myself called “SproutKid”. (The name derives from me growing as a game dev like a little sprout, hence the name Sprout and Kid.) Back in 2024, ever since I got a 8 GB Windows 11 laptop for my 14th birthday, I started using various different game engines that were considered very easy to learn and utilize, such as Twine, GB Studio, Buildbox, and ended up using GDevelop. Eventually, about over a year of using GDevelop, I ended up quitting the engine for good, and started self-teaching myself and using Godot 4.4 to make my games.
I’m literally obsessed with platformers of any kind, which is why 2D platformers are the only thing I know how to make in Godot 4.4. Whenever I’m making a 2D platformer in Godot 4.4, I usually reuse numerous scripts and scenes to speed up development. Right now, I’m actively developing a 2D platformer in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid. Here’s the link to the game if y’all want to check it out: https://sproutkid.itch.io/platform-kid. Happy New Year!
Just a quick question, do I have to stick to the main theme of my entry, and just expand on it or add more levels, or can I change the theme and make a new game while also keeping the same look and feel of the gameplay? Also, do I have to submit the same game on itch.io, or can I submit the new game that's differentiated?
Hi Kazzter! Just wanted to let you know, I'm going to be using the "Ancient Desert Tileset" for the second world of my 2D platformer I'm currently working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid. The Demo containing only the first world is already out, and you can check it out if you have the time: Platform Kid by Joshington
Yeah, specifically for the third level, World 1-3: It’s Moving Day. From what you played, and from me playtesting the level countless times, if you want to hop off the ladder, you have to climb all the way up the ladder, and then wiggle around with the arrow keys while mashing the Z Key to jump off the ladder. It’s going to be tedious at first, but the more you keep doing this method, the more you’ll get accustomed to it.
