Thanks! Oh, and by the way, I'm all finished with the Demo version of Platform Kid, which only contains the first world, Grassy Valley. Here's the link: Platform Kid by Joshington. Go check it out if you have the time! Also, I already used a pixel art cave background made by lilCthulhu. Sorry about that. Hope you can improve on pixel art as a whole on the way!

Hi! I’m Joshua (my internet alias is Joshington), I live in Georgia in the United States, and I’m a 15-year-old solo indie game dev. I run a game development studio by myself called “SproutKid”. (The name derives from me growing as a game dev like a little sprout, hence the name Sprout and Kid.) Back in 2024, ever since I got a 8 GB Windows 11 laptop for my 14th birthday, I started using various different game engines that were considered very easy to learn and utilize, such as Twine, GB Studio, Buildbox, and ended up using GDevelop. Eventually, about over a year of using GDevelop, I ended up self-teaching myself and using Godot 4.4 to make my games.

I’m literally obsessed with platformers of any kind, which is why 2D platformers are the only thing I know how to make in Godot 4.4. Whenever I’m making a 2D platformer in Godot 4.4, I usually reuse numerous scripts and scenes to speed up development. Right now, I’m actively developing a 2D platformer in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid. Here’s the link to the game if y’all want to check it out: https://sproutkid.itch.io/platform-kid. Happy New Year!

Just a quick question, do I have to stick to the main theme of my entry, and just expand on it or add more levels, or can I change the theme and make a new game while also keeping the same look and feel of the gameplay? Also, do I have to submit the same game on itch.io, or can I submit the new game that's differentiated?

Hi Kazzter! Just wanted to let you know, I'm going to be using the "Ancient Desert Tileset" for the second world of my 2D platformer I'm currently working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid. The Demo containing only the first world is already out, and you can check it out if you have the time: Platform Kid by Joshington

Yeah, specifically for the third level, World 1-3: It’s Moving Day. From what you played, and from me playtesting the level countless times, if you want to hop off the ladder, you have to climb all the way up the ladder, and then wiggle around with the arrow keys while mashing the Z Key to jump off the ladder. It’s going to be tedious at first, but the more you keep doing this method, the more you’ll get accustomed to it.

I just added 4 screenshots AND a video that’s called “Platform Kid DEMO Release Preview” that I posted on YouTube yesterday, so my post should be good to go. Thanks for clarifying!

Hi Spot dot Games! I just played your game, Roll 'n' Bounce, and it is a pretty solid game you got right here, especially considering that this is your first ever game made in Construct! The gameplay feels really nice as you're playing as a red ball, with the ball-like physics to go with it, and the minimalistic presentation is really a standout. I also like of how there's some little quirks in the game, such as from when you die, the game shifts to "Respawning..." mode.

However, I do have some feedback to consider. It's with the laser (and possible every enemy that does damage to you). You see, whenever I come in contact with the laser, I lose almost all of my health instantly, and it just made the game a little bit too unfair. What I would consider doing, and I'm not even a Construct 3 dev myself (Though I'm planning to be one) and just a 15-year-old Godot game dev, have health be removed once so that the collision for the laser/enemies don't overlap more than once.

But anyways, that's all of my feedback with this game. REALLY solid game, Spot dot Games! 4.25/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌘Keep up the good work as a Construct 3 game dev!

Hi, itch.io fam! I just released the Demo version of my latest 2D platformer I’m actively working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid! The Demo only contains the first world of the game, Grassy Valley, which includes 5 levels total, and a boss fight, which will be the same level structure for the rest of the game in the full release. Go check it out if y’all have the time!

Here’s the link: https://sproutkid.itch.io/platform-kid

Description: In Platform Kid, what you have to do in EVERY level (except for boss fights) is find a total of 5 keys, and doing so will you gain access to the exit door to clear a level. Most of the time, these keys will either be easy to find or may require some open platforming and thinking outside-of-the box.

Sup Tatau! Just to let you know, I just released the Demo version of my newest 2D platformer in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid! Here’s the link: https://sproutkid.itch.io/platform-kid. It’s currently being actively developed, and I’m expecting to be finished with the full release by May 22, 2026 next year. Go check it out if you have the time!

Oh, and I'm all done with the Demo release of Platform Kid! Here's the link: Platform Kid by Joshington. Go check it out if you have the time, and like I said before, you're literally the BEST fall-back option if I'm running short on pre-made retro-inspired music asset packs. Thank you so much always, God bless you, and wish you all the best of luck in your music-making career!

Hi Tallbeard Studios! I'm all done with the Demo release of my latest 2D platformer I'm currently working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid! Here's the link: Platform Kid by Joshington. Really wish you can make more tracks like these, because they're just simply SO CATCHY. Thanks so much for this asset pack, and God bless you!

Hi, Pizza Doggy! Just to let you know, I used the "Wanderer's Tale" music track from the Cozy Tunes music asset pack for the opening cutscene of my latest 2D platformer I'm currently working on, Platform Kid. The Demo is currently out now on itch.io: Platform Kid by Joshington. Thanks so much for the asset pack, and wish you all the best of luck!

Sup Azakaela! It's me, Joshington! Just to let you know, I'll be using the "Happy Home" track from the "Legends of Yesterday - Mix and Match Soundtrack" music asset pack for the opening cutscene of my 2D platformer I'm currently working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid. I'm expecting to release the Demo version of the game (which only contains the first world) via both HTML5 and as downloadable Microsoft Windows and Linux files by December 31st, 2025, the end of this year. Wish me all the best of luck!

Inevitable_Cry, you just might be one of the very few people to actually beat Duckie ‘n’ Egg. I just watched Part 5 of your series on playing ALL of the 20 Second Game Jam 2025 entries in submission order, and with Duckie ‘n’ Egg, I’m honestly very proud of you.

Like, this game was RUSHED beyond belief because I simply didn’t want anyone stealing my idea. I should’ve just worked on Duckie ‘n’ Egg for the time being, but since I was so busy working on other projects, I simply didn’t have any time and only made 2 small updates.

Oh, and I’m also working on a bigger project in Godot that’s a 2D platformer, so those other 15 levels aren’t going to be coming anytime soon. Sorry about that.

Like on How you pointed out that sometimes the sunlight overheats the egg and other times it didn’t when the egg is too close to the sunlight. The reason for that is because from in the tutorial section, I didn’t want the egg to instantly overheat when there’s literally one shadow that’s too far away, and it’s not really a bug. Just something I missed, and I’ll definitely fix the slippery movement, but I’ll get that sunlight working properly soon.

Well, all I can say about Duckie ‘n’ Egg is: “It’s playable and enjoyable, but not very polished.”, but really, than’s something to very much expect in game jam games.

Thanks for finding my game humorous, replayable, and cute btw!

Hi raimundoNC! Just wanted to let you know, I'll be using this cave tileset for my 2D platformer I'm currently working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid. Wish me all the best of luck! Also, for the background, I can't really access it because not only is it not in separate layers, but it's also blocked by what I presume to be a copyright protection barrier, and it says "GDM". Hope you can fix this soon, because I also want to use the background for the cave levels in Platform Kid as well!

Hi Chroma! I just played your entry, Lunny the Lunar Bunny, and I really have to say this, this has GOT to be one of my absolute favorite entries in the 20 Second Game Jam 2025! I ESPECIALLY love the cute artstyle and aesthetic, and also the catchy music, to which it really reminded me of early, but impressive Sunsoft games on the NES and Game Boy, including Gimmick! and Trip World. The core concept of the game is simple and cute yet enjoyable enough for me to keep coming back for more. Even though there's only 6 foxes to smash with your hammer, it's still more than enough to smash em' all in under 20 seconds. Overall, FANTASTIC entry, Chroma! 4.75/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌖. Oh, and just wanted to ask, what software did you make your music in, because it's really catchy to listen to! Thanks if you respond!

I just played your game, Hold the Eggs, and this was really fun to master! I like of how not only is the game fast-paced and focuses on your reflexes, but also it's egg-themed, and totally not something I made that's egg-related (Ok, I'm lying, it is). I also very much appreciate on how the game supports two control schemes: WASD and Mouse (but strangely not arrow keys, and mouse is strangely called "Mause"). I ended up using the "Mause" considering that it's far easier to control and grab all of the eggs than the WASD keys. Overall, a pretty basic but fun and reflex-based arcade game in the 20 Second Game Jam 2025! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌗 4.5/5 stars! Very good job, VitorAlexandrino!

Hi Tatau! Just wanted to let you know, the "Best of MashUp Game Jam 2025" is out on YouTube! I already watched the video, and Delivery Berrie was one of MashUp Games' favorite games from the jam in the video! Even though you and your teammates' game didn't make it in, I did see y'all's game, Delivery Dash, very briefly near the end of the "Best of MashUp Game Jam 2025" video! Let's both congratulate on each other's successes!

Here's the link to the video: Best Of MashUp Game Jam 2025

Hi Hexblast Studios! Just to let you know, I’m going to be using this ENTIRE platformer tileset for my 2D Platformer I’m currently working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid. Wish me all the best of luck!

Hi Bittorn. Unfortunately, I can't play this game because of two things. 1. When the game boots up to the Title Screen, I can't click on any of the buttons. 2. The screen is WAY too small for me to see the game properly. Since you're a Godot game dev, what I would suggest doing in the future is checking to see if you have anything on top of your buttons (For example, a ColorRect node or a Panel), and have your buttons be moved at the bottom (Bottom items meaning they're on top of everything), and for 2., Try setting your window size in itch.io to match EXACTLY like your game resolution size. Also, with the little message you said about feeling burned out multiple times, I ABSOLUTELY feel you right there, man. One of my projects, which was Juicy the Orange, was going to be my big breakout success, until I ended up becoming bored on the project as soon as I started making more game jam games, but that's what really helped me evolve into a bigger and better game dev, and I'm sure you will too! Hope my advice in Godot helps you with your future projects, and I hope this game gets fixed soon!

Hi Essssam! It's me again! Just wanted to let you know, I'm going to use this font for my 2D platformer I'm currently working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid, because this is literally amazing craftmanship. Good luck making pixel art assets and wish me all the best on my project!

Stormring Games and CelianCastado, I just played y'all's game, Fit the mold !, and I gotta say, y'all REALLY outdid yourselves here. I just love the core concept of the game, of how you're basically dropping shapes from moving claws into the right box, and I LOVE the animations y'all did with the shapes' legs, and how they add personality to them. I get it that y'all weren't able to get some aspects done, and the graphics are a bit simplistic in my standards, but honestly, that's to be expected in any game jam, and overall, REAL solid entry right here, and barely any critiques! Y'all did a solid 4.5/5 stars from me! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌗

Also, Stormring Games and CelianCastado, if you could play my game entry, Duckie 'n' Egg, and give feedback on it, I would be highly appreciative of you for doing so. This isn't self-promotion, by the way, but I can consider playing my game (and everyone else's, too!), in the 20 Second Game Jam 2025. Thanks a million and have a great and blessed day! ⭐💫☀️

Otterisk, the PNG for this update doesn't play when I click on it to view.

Alright, Virtual Nomad. I just played your game, Volleytile!, and I had a really fun time with it! I mean, it's basically just a simple Breakout clone, except that you have to do it in 20 seconds to achieve the high score. To be honest, this game was also kind of difficult for me to gain a high score. I like on how that there's extra gimmicks and items here and there to keep the game flow going, but when I got like a rocket power-up, I had no idea on how to use it, because I wasn't given any controls on how to use it. Overall, at the end of the day, it's just your average Breakout played in 20 seconds, and a very good execution on that. 4/5 stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Really great work, Virtual Nomad!

Inevitable Cry, I just played your game, Get dressed!, and honestly, it's definently something in the jam, but I do have some mixed feelings about this game. While I do like the core concept of the game, plain and simple dress-up, and also that you have to choose the right outfit to wear for the fairy in under 20 seconds, for one, there's no music or even sound effects, and honestly, a little calming music would fit the game perfectly. Two, if I chose the correct clothing as the game told me to, most of the time, I always get "Oh no! Let's try again!", and it was bugging me a little bit. 3. The game's artstyle is definently not particularly bad, but it can also be creepy and off-putting, considering that the background is a live-action photo of daisies (or whatever the flowers are), and what we have is a slightly distorting-looking fairy, plus some clothes on the right. Also, I noticed that you used AI for the coding department, and in my personal opinion, I don't particularly care as long as the visual department wasn't AI-generated. Overall, really nice game and I enjoyed my time nonetheless, and hope you enjoyed my feedback and critique about the game! 2.75/5 stars: ⭐⭐🌖

Also, I noticed on YouTube that you're going to be playing a bunch of 20 Second Game Jam 2025 entries, and honestly, I'm pretty excited about that, and if you could play my game, Duckie 'n' Egg, and give feedback, I would be very appreciative of you for doing so. Take care, Inevitable Cry! 🧚👚

I just found another 20 Second Game Jam 2025 playthrough on YouTube, with Inevitable_Cry playing a few games from the jam!

Here's the video right here: Playing 20 Second Game Jam 2025 Part 1

krismichael, thanks for telling me on what I should do with the screen resolution every time I want to make a Godot game on the web. For the web server thing, I actually used a web server tool called Servez by greggman, which is available on GitHub. While it does give my game a running web server, unfortunately, there's a few bugs and lag found when I try to run a Godot game via Servez. Anyways, thanks so much on the advice!

Yeah, biscuitlocker. For the tutorial section, I tried to make sure that the tutorial text doesn't cover much of the screen, and for the movement, I was actually going to fix the friction of Duckie's movement to a higher rate (like say, 5 or 6), but I forgot to in the second update, but that's still in my mind of fixing the game soon. Thanks so much for the feedback and critique!

Hi Otterisk! Just to let you know, I'll also be using ALL of the animals in this asset pack for my 2D platformer I'm working on in Godot 4.4, Jump Kid. Just remember, wish me all the best of luck on my project!

Reff Pixels, this is simply just USEFUL in every sense of the word. Like, seriously, this has more apps that I can use for my games than where I am in social media, and all of the apps look simply AMAZING. I'm definently going to be using this asset pack for my 2D platformer I'm working on in Godot 4.4, Jump Kid. Wish me all the best of luck!

This is simply absolutely AMAZING, Tallbeard Studios. Like, this can work for pretty much ANY type of 2D retro game, and no wonder it's one of the most used music assets on itch.io. And because of that, I'm going to be using a few of the tracks from this asset pack for my 2D platformer I'm currently working on in Godot 4.4, Jump Kid! Thanks SO much for this asset pack, and wish me all the best of luck!

biscoitodecenoura, pennalu, I just played y'all's game, How to Survive a Duck, and this game is not only really relatable, but also impressive too. I just love the core concept of how you're a clumsy dinosaur and that you have to only use your mouse to remove the things that pretty much everyone in real life bothers. Also, the artstyle is EXTREMELY cute and the animations are very well done. However, the only critique I have with the game is the fact that when I click on some of the objects, they are either a little too finicky or imprecise. Such as if I'm trying to bring down the Settings on the dinosaur's phone, it took me a few tries, but eventually I got the hang of it soon. Overall, 4.75/5 stars! Really outstanding work, you two!

Also, biscoitdecenoura and pennalu, if you could play my game entry, Duckie 'n' Egg, and give feedback on it, I would be highly appreciative of you for doing so. This isn't self-promotion, by the way, but I can consider playing my game (and everyone else's, too!), in the 20 Second Game Jam 2025. Thanks a million and have a great and blessed day! ⭐💫☀️

biscuitlocker, I just played your game, GB Ninja Booger, and honestly, I have to say, this is one of THE most impressive GB Studio games I ever played. First off, the sheer quality of the 3D depth-of-field is OUTSTANDING!, and the gameplay and the core concept is unique, weird, and interesting all together. Plus, everything just looks so beautiful, and since you had all the time in the world for this game jam, you really outdid yourself with this one, biscuitlocker, and honestly, this actually feels more or less like an actual Game Boy Color tech demo! Overall, 4.5/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌗

Also, biscuitlocker, if you could play my game entry, Duckie 'n' Egg, and give feedback on it, I would be highly appreciative of you for doing so. This isn't self-promotion, by the way, but I can consider playing my game (and everyone else's, too!), in the 20 Second Game Jam 2025. Thanks a million and have a great and blessed day! ⭐💫☀️

Hi Otterisk! Just to let you know, I'll be using your base character for my 2D platformer I'm working on in Godot 4.4, Platform Kid, because it just simply looks absolutely amazing. No wonder it's one of the most used asset packs on itch.io. Thank you SO MUCH for this asset pack, and wish me all the best!!! ❤️💫🎮🕹️

Aidan157, I just played your entry, Light, and I LOVE on how eminent and dark this game is. I especially love on how the VHS effect is utilized, and you really managed to pull that off in GameMaker! Even though it's a pretty simple 2D platformer, I still enjoyed my time with the game! And also, with the procedurally generated levels is a pretty unique take on this game! However, I have two main critiques about the game that mostly threw me off from the gameplay.

1. It's the platforming. While it's more or less basic, and that the light moves at a normal pace on the ground, the light jumps too low, especially if there's stars that I can't even reach.

2. It's the level switching. If I was holding down the right key, and I get transported to the next level, I'm still going to be holding down right and there might be a level to where there's a gap, and I accidentally fall through.

Nevertheless, that's all my critiques about the game, and I really don't take it seriously in these type of situations. I mean, the second critique I had was literally the EXACT same critique that I got from my entry, Duckie 'n' Egg. I especially hope you can improve and grow as a game dev, and keep doing you in the gaming industry! Oh, and 4.25/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌘

Also, Aidan157, if you could play my game entry, Duckie 'n' Egg, and give feedback on it, I would be highly appreciative of you for doing so. This isn't self-promotion, by the way, but I can consider playing my game (and everyone else's, too!), in the 20 Second Game Jam 2025. Thanks a million and have a great and blessed day! ⭐💫☀️

Okay. I just updated Duckie 'n' Egg once more. This time, I added a small barrier in Level 2: Mind the Gap, because I heard many critiques on people who held the right key down and fell down to the floor, preventing them from beating the game. Plus, I replaced the old music track with a new music track, added in black ColorRect nodes that are tinted to actually distinguish the shadows, and actually have the game restart the current scene every time you die. Oh, and I also had the background not move because it was pretty much hurting people's eyes, even after I slowed the background animation down. Also, for the sunlight moving around, that's supposed to add to the game's challenge. Which means that if the sunlight's coming Duckie and the Egg's way, the Egg better be in the shadows to prevent it from overheating.

Y'know, even though Duckie 'n' Egg isn't my most polished Godot game ever, it's still one that helps me gradually motivate me to update after hearing SO MANY critiques about the game. Thank y'all so much for all of the critiques, especially you, kaiakairos. It was painful hearing all of the critiques I received, but I simply just accepted them, because NO game is perfect. Not even Duckie 'n' Egg. And that's why I'm giving the best Duckie 'n' Egg experience possible each time this game gets an update.

I really wish I would've kept working on this game over the course of the 20 Second Game Jam 2025, but since I was busy focusing on making so many Godot prototypes (including a top-down simulation game, tile-building sandbox prototype, and a 2D top-down shooter prototype) and small projects (including Mochi Bros. and SimuBlocks), I just simply didn't have any time to work on Duckie 'n' Egg, but now I finally did.

I just found another video with a YouTuber named Fyreside playing 11 games from the 20 Second Game Jam 2025! Here's the link:

Nice! I'll also be on the lookout for more 20 Second Game Jam playthroughs!
