I think the style of the art (as mentioned often before) is the strongest side of the game. Variety of settings was very cool. But although the style is very cool, there are some things you could improve in this area, for example the bullet of the player (just one solid colour without an effect) or the blood effect (the style doesn't fit to the rest). If you could improve that, it would look even better.

Nice game! :)

Thanks! much appreciated

Like someone else mentioned, it's pretty cool that you implemented different levels AND entirely different art.

Also, your bees are beeautiful

(I'm sorry. I couldn't resist the pun)

Thank u very much!

You do not see very many jam games with different levels that have entirely different art. Fantastic, things like that really help push plays forward to see 'What comes next?'. Great entry! I liked that character sprite too!

Developer(+2)

Thanks :) Since this is an adventure game, we want the player to keep exploring the world, so we can't make the world boring, so we've put different enemies tiles backgrounds and etc.

For me personally it would be boring to play an adventure game without the adventure effect

Fun adventure! I liked the artwork and varied environments a lot! There wasn't too much strategy with the gameplay, because there wasn't much stopping me from hanging back and sniping everything from afar, but it was still good fun.

Thanks a lot!

nice work with this one. The presentation feels quit polished.

My only gripe is that you don't make the cursor visible again on death, making it hard to select things from the menu.

Also put your camera tracking code in LateUpdate() to get rid of the player jitter.

other than those nit picks the game's quit solid. very good looking game.

Hi, Thanks for the review

We found out about the menu bug only later, sorry! :)

Glad you enjoyed the game

Fun to play. Is it just me or no audio at all ? When restarted mouse dissapeared. Each level has it's own style and thats quite cool ! I would fix maybe the camera position a little bit down, so the player is in the middle of the screen, not in the bottom. Also with UI, maybe fixing it in the bottom of the screen not top. Well done :)

Hi, we had around 2-3 audio sounds, in the next jam we'll be able to polish more :)

Thanks for the review!

Nice game! The art style is cute and it generally presents itself well. I love the dirt particle effect when you shoot the ground, an excellent touch.
Also liked the variety of environments and enemies, even if it was mostly visual.
I think it would benefit from a few "game feel" tweaks an additions to bring it to the next level, things like background music, additional sound effects, and a smoother game flow, from things like being able to move while shooting.

A cracking job for a first jam game, good work!

Thank you very much for experiencing our game!

And about the movement, we wanted the player to play this game in a patience way, if the player could just run shoot and pass the level, there is no strategy.

In our game, the player have to think if he should make any move, or shoot.

I love the aesthetic, feels like a micro journey but there is notecable jitteriness in the movement, at least on my part, might be something technical.

Developer

Hi, thanks for the review.

Maybe the jitterness you're talking about is that the player can't move while shooting, but it is intentional because we don't want the player to shoot like a crazy, but to think ahead about his steps.

Nice graphics and variety of environments.

The gameplay was good (had even a bossfight), but lacked a bit of sound design, and a little fine tuning.

But overall I enjoiyed it. Good job. :)

Developer

Thanks alot!

Nice art  and good idea to travel in different locations, but most of the time when pixels are the same size the game looks good. My cursor is behind things and is black :( , my bullet is way slower from the enemy projectile and my camera sometimes don't let me see where i have to jump, the movement is to fast hard to control and don't match the animations of the character. The bridge in "land of the death" have bad collision box i can't walk on it and can't shoot thru. The Dragons is nice  but the level design when you fight with him have bad design i have no cover and this knock back is pretty brutal. I can't pass the dragon. Last but not least you have HP BAR.

Developer(+1)

Hi, thank you very much for the review!

This is our first jam together and we will manage our time better at the next jam.

Anyway, we added a HP bar because first we thought, the idea of perma death is just to restart the game, once the player dies, and don't allow the player to use extra lives when he dies.

Submitted(+1)

Maybe it's my bad  "lives and similar systems are not allowed"   Excuse me for wrong understanding i'm sorry.

It's fine, it confuses everyone xD
