Game felt too big and empty. Retro aesthetics were cool though the music hurt my ears.
I love the setting and I think it's a really nice beginning of a cool future game :D I wish there was some sort of way of saving progress as despite being level 3 or 4 (don't remember), I got killed quickly by the second big knight dude and didn't feel like playing from the beginning.
The game is totally my vibe though and I'd love to see it developed! 7 days is just not enough for such a big scope and you did well with the time given :D
Yeah I learned that I may have overscooped this project. 7 days while working my full time job was not enough time. I am glad you enjoyed what was there!
I liked what was there, although I couldn't beat the first boss! I think the level could be a bit smaller while still fitting in the same amount of stuff, as it felt a bit empty. I think it has potential though!
as others have said, it looks nice but yeah a bit empty and could use more... content, i guess
also, adding an in-game tutorial would be nice!
still, lovely presentation, i love the font and the little animations
I like how retro this feels, but thats pretty much it; theres not much going on and the maps are too big. the game feels empty. also not a fan of the controls, its just not very intuitive having to relearn a different control scheme; I would suggest using any of the more popular controls used by other games.
I loved the dark fantasy setting, art & music ! That's good work ! Music is good too, did you use a tracker software ? Thank you for making this game
Do you plan to update this game after the jam ? I'd love to get a more in depth experience but overall I had a great time playing this

I am actually as we speak working on Post Jam version. It will be uploaded and available once the Jam is complete.
Sorry I forgot to reply to your second question. My music was made using FlStudio Mobile
YE GODS MY EARS
Please test your sound effects at a higher volume next time. I did actually like the music once my ears were done ringing, though. I feel like the game lacked a bit in polish; the base enemies, for example, don’t get stunned when you attack them, which means you can easily get comboed into oblivion if you’re unlucky. The combat and controls felt a bit clunky, and the theme feels under-represented, too. I still think it’s a good starting point for what would be a really good game.
Yeah adding polish and rebalancing effects thats the first task i took on post jam.
Theme i feel requires the end of the game but thats a tall ask.
Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it
Love me some dark fantasy. This game's a bit barebones, and feels like it needed a bit more time in the oven in order to be great instead of just ok. The music is a bit distracting, and the pot break sfx 'bout ripped the soul out of my body. Despite not much being here, I still really enjoyed just exploring and smacking enemies. Good start.
Thank you. I agree. I am building on this system and add more. 7 days really let me make a pretty basic prototype, i like to think much of the hard stuff is done.
Thank you for your words. I will focus going forward with this project on the details
I entered that big circle thing and pressed "I" but nothing shows up. Great color palette and art style. I cannot defeat the boss tho.
I enjoyed the game! I really liked the music on floor 4. I do think a couple of things could be improved. When breaking jars the sound they make is pretty abrasive. And I think more decorations would be good. Overall good job!
I agree with a commenter below that it feels a bit too much of empty space, and the music is a little harsh for a long session. Otherwise, the gameplay is good, and the idea is interesting. I liked it.
Nice game!
Had to get used to the delay between attacking and the enemy getting hit but after that the fights were pretty nice.
Would´ve loved some more decoration or gameplay in some levels, as many were barren at places.
Still, the music and the upgrade system were great and really fit into the game :D
Keep up the good work :)
Oooph, the boss on level 5 destroyed me right quick. I feel like there is a good start here that can be expanded quite significantly. Good job!
I genuinely enjoyed that! I think I died a few times before I started finishing levels, but it felt good to play. Overall well done honestly. I personally think the level design could have had slightly less open space, but still done well. Great entry!
Fun idea, but the execution is a bit off. A lot of the environment is fully empty and it was quite annoying to traverse. Also, the music is not bad. but it's too bit crushed for my taste, it really hurt my ears after a couple of minutes. Some SFX are also either too loud or too quiet. The idea is there tho! Good shot.
Thank so much for making that recording. I can see areas that I didnt even consider. I used an area2d collision when the player enters the room and ofcourse when the enemy knocks you out the room fades to black.
So the Interact symbol this happens regardless if you have the Seed Sprout or not which is a huge issue.
Sorry for the winded reply I havent seen a player actually Cathedral of Decay and I am seeing areas the game can improve. I only wish you still had fun playing.
I am considering putting more time into Cathedral of Decay and made the game I kinda vision it to be. but i am still unsure if it is worth it.
Also i am overjoyed you enjoyed the music. I put some good time in hoping it would touch people and add to the experience in someway.
Again thank you so much for a recorded play through. there is alot to consider watching this!
