How does your game fit the theme?
Every 10 turns your city is partially destroyed, which forces you to start a new loop with some of your previous resources. Looping is also a prevalent concept narratively: our story is underpinned by a repeating cycle of advancement and perseverance.

Great concept, great execution, really just a chill vibe game that really lets you get your teeth into it. Only thing I feel was missing is I would have liked to have seen an actual transition between the eras instead of just a menu.

I like this game very much!  I would have spent all night playing it but I should probably rate other games too :D

This is a realy addictive builder game... I love those roguelike kind of progression mechanics!

I bet this would have tons of scope for expanding with stuff like tech trees vs sprituality trees vs diplomacy trees, sort of like Civilisation, so you could craft each run with it's own path and identity. And then giving the player the old 1-of-3 things mechanic to help them improve and upgrade during the run.

We love choosing 1 of 3 things, so we made a deckbuilder. Would love your feedback on it if you wanted to give it a try for more roguelike fun!

This game was really fun and well polished! I did manage to break  the loop but it got kind of close. I also enjoy the different possible strategies that could be used. I could see people placing a bunch of houses together or maybe getting a lot of those building that triggered when another building was placed which is really cool! The only possible feedback I could give is to like make a bunch of other unique and different buildings for some crazy strategies, but it was a 4-day gamejam and already had some cool strategies. Still though, you did a great job with this!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your message! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Also you found one of my personally favorite strategies (though I'm still not sure which one is the best one yet).

You are totally right, we had a couple of extra ideas that we didn't make in time (for buildings and mechanics). I so wish we had more time to test and work on those. It also meant balancing questions, like ideally no building was a huge power creep compared to others, and we were scared of "breaking" the game with some OP building.

Thanks a lot for your feedback and kind words!

This my be my personal favorite game from the jam. I could play this forever, what a fun puzzle for the brain. I really liked the counting everything up animation. The map feels like a perfect amount of space. A lot of things went right.

Developer(+2)

Oh, wow! Thanks a lot for the compliment. It means a lot for us!

I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Made a few mistakes and finished at era 4) Really nice concept with "monuments of the past" and it was nice to see my board NOT wipe after building the monumet

Developer

nice! 4 is exactly where we intended a good session to end

we're glad you liked it! and yes indeed, it's really nice to finally keep your village haha

Submitted(+1)

Wow!! The game is crazy polished and super cozy. Sucked me right in. Your art style also looks very nice.

Great entry!

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing! we're glad you enjoyed your time with it <3

Reached the end at Era 3, that was really fun! If you add a lose state, and potentially use the stars as a currency in a shop that unlocks stuff in a run, I can definitely see this as a fully fledged game!

However, I wish there was a way to speed up the animation. I know it's a game jam game, but if I wasn't a fan of games like these, I probably would've lost my patience.

Developer(+1)

Congrats on finishing in Era 3, that's the best we managed as well! And thanks for the suggestions, I could definitely see this becoming more of a roguelike and having your score become a currency to improve future games. As for being able to change the game speed, this is 100% something we would have also liked but sadly didn't have enough time to implement. Glad you enjoyed the game nevertheless :)

Very polished and addictive game)
Add more content (missions mby?) and this can go straight on Steam)

Thanks for the feedback! ❤️

A very meditative game. Interesting implementation of the theme, but it is not clear what it affects.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Would you mind telling us more about what was unclear?

Nothing like that. I just didn't really understand whether scrolling columns has any effect on gameplay or whether it's just an indicator that the action of neighboring cells only extends within the column.

Developer(+1)

Oh, tiles that affect neighbors do so both vertically and horizontally, i.e. the tile above, the tile below, and both the one on the right and the left of the tile. The scrolling columns are something that remained from the original idea we had of the game, but we thought it looked good to see them activate that way.

Great art style and polished. I ended up playing for over ten minutes straight. It really pulls you into a state of flow.

Nice game

A very pleasant and well-made game. It would probably be easier to use the tile catalog if they were sorted by type,  and if there were a bit more time to figure out what they do and how they interact. But overall, great game, I really enjoyed it!

(Just one more turn was needed to beat it in 3 eras btw)

Developer(+1)

We are glad that you liked it! We had intended to create a better tutorial, but unfortunately, we ran out of time for that.  Hopefully, the game being forgiving and letting you go at your own pace compensates for that.

Thanks for the feedback!

Super fun game. I was able to beat the game in 4 loops, but I think if I had tuned things a little bit better early on I might’ve been able to do 3 loops? It would’ve been close for sure.

I was super impressed by the balancing off the buildings and the overall game mechanics. The beautiful pixel art was the cherry on top.

Developer

Yayy 4 loops is actually really good (more or less what we intended the game to take), and yes we managed to beat it in 3 by tryharding a bit and we feel like 2 could be doable with some good initial setup luck haha

We're glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted

A really great and polished game ! You really nails your game concept. I loved playing it ! I beat the game in 5 loops, thats seemed to be an average performance, i don't know

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! 5 loops is right in the ballpark we aimed as a reasonable play session (anywhere between 4 and 6)

in case you're interested, after optimizing things a bit we managed to beat it in 3, and it *may* be doable in 2

We're glad you enjoyed playing <3

Submitted

Oooooooooooh. Knowing that want me to try get the end in less loops !!!

polished and wonderful, music and sound design were a standout!

Developer(+1)

thank you so much for playing!

fun fact: our music guy barely made an appearance (he was off doing some things) and randomly showed up late friday saying "I wasn't very inspired and skectched this unfinished piece on the hotel and plane" and that's what you hear. We're as surprised as you are haha

This game's really cool!! The progression was done SO well with the theme in mind; the amount of content is impressive, and it stayed interesting the entire time (which is really hard to do in just a couple days!!).

Developer(+1)

our main balance designer will surely be delighted to read such a statement, given he fried his brain off trying to come up with the right numbers and synergies

thank you so much for playing! it makes it all worth the hard work <3

Submitted(+2)

I think it's technically difficult to make such a game. I can't do that, but I admire such developers.

Submitted(+2)

This is insanely well polished, I am astounded. Beautiful, relaxing and so juicy.

Developer(+1)

We always like to add a copious amount of juice lol. Glad you enjoyed it!
