How does your game fit the theme?
Every 10 turns your city is partially destroyed, which forces you to start a new loop with some of your previous resources. Looping is also a prevalent concept narratively: our story is underpinned by a repeating cycle of advancement and perseverance.

This is a really cool game :)
One bug I noticed was that the details panel about the tile you're hovering does not display the tile's information if during the previous frame the the cursor was over another tile (which happens on crappy computers such as my laptop lol)
Wow! Probably the best game I played in this jam, luckily I'm still in time to rate this! Everything feels so smooth and satisfying, from the graphics to the sound design and the game loop. I can't tell you guys know what you're doing. Keep up the great work!
Outstanding game, one of my favorites so far in the Jam. Everything is really polished, unlocking new content always feels like it opens many new strategies, and it's just addictive to play. I finished in Era 4 but I was just one turn away from winning in Era 3. Congrats to the whole team!
Also thanks for providing downloadable versions because the web kinda lags for me (I don't think it's on you, it happens for most games)
Oh and, I thought the arrow button on the top right was an undo button... I accidentally reset my game during my first attempt :D
Buenardo
Took me until the middle of era 4 :)
Incredibly strong concept that's been executed to perfection. The eras work so well, with keeping track of your progress through each one really adding an extra layer to consdider, where I'd have to think if I could increase the likelihood of starting a new era with particular buildings on the map or push for more resources. The range of units is fantastic, I loved the little rush of excitement when unlocking a new one, and particularly liked the options that would reward careful planning of the layout of my settlement.
Art is excellent, with buildings each immediately distinct at a glance. I love the amount of subtle movement that's constantly taking place onscreen with lighting, text and squash/stretch on buttons - it's never distracting, but gives an additional layer of visual interest that could otherwise have been absent from a game about buildings.
The music is perfect, with a bounce to it and an immediate appeal that really helped me settle into the game. I really liked the second run through of the A section - the soft piano chords that lead into it, the change to the harmonic structure beneath the guitar melody - it's just a lovely variation that keeps the piece feeling fresh.
A simple cozy game with lots of potential. I enjoyed it.

Fantastic builder game, love the concept and mechanics. Figuring out the strategies are really fun! Great job!
Love this game and the way you implemented the "Loop" theme with the "looping" tiles. Feels very polish. Could easy see this as a full steam game! Great jam entry!
Real gem! Perfectly done!
Ghad dang, super polished. Cool take on the theme. Great game!
Its Simple and addictive! Well made game!!
Great concept, great execution, really just a chill vibe game that really lets you get your teeth into it. Only thing I feel was missing is I would have liked to have seen an actual transition between the eras instead of just a menu.
I like this game very much! I would have spent all night playing it but I should probably rate other games too :D
This is a realy addictive builder game... I love those roguelike kind of progression mechanics!
I bet this would have tons of scope for expanding with stuff like tech trees vs sprituality trees vs diplomacy trees, sort of like Civilisation, so you could craft each run with it's own path and identity. And then giving the player the old 1-of-3 things mechanic to help them improve and upgrade during the run.
We love choosing 1 of 3 things, so we made a deckbuilder. Would love your feedback on it if you wanted to give it a try for more roguelike fun!
This game was really fun and well polished! I did manage to break the loop but it got kind of close. I also enjoy the different possible strategies that could be used. I could see people placing a bunch of houses together or maybe getting a lot of those building that triggered when another building was placed which is really cool! The only possible feedback I could give is to like make a bunch of other unique and different buildings for some crazy strategies, but it was a 4-day gamejam and already had some cool strategies. Still though, you did a great job with this!
Thank you for your message! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Also you found one of my personally favorite strategies (though I'm still not sure which one is the best one yet).
You are totally right, we had a couple of extra ideas that we didn't make in time (for buildings and mechanics). I so wish we had more time to test and work on those. It also meant balancing questions, like ideally no building was a huge power creep compared to others, and we were scared of "breaking" the game with some OP building.
Thanks a lot for your feedback and kind words!
This my be my personal favorite game from the jam. I could play this forever, what a fun puzzle for the brain. I really liked the counting everything up animation. The map feels like a perfect amount of space. A lot of things went right.
Oh, wow! Thanks a lot for the compliment. It means a lot for us!
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Made a few mistakes and finished at era 4) Really nice concept with "monuments of the past" and it was nice to see my board NOT wipe after building the monumet
nice! 4 is exactly where we intended a good session to end
we're glad you liked it! and yes indeed, it's really nice to finally keep your village haha
Wow!! The game is crazy polished and super cozy. Sucked me right in. Your art style also looks very nice.
Great entry!
thank you for playing! we're glad you enjoyed your time with it <3
Reached the end at Era 3, that was really fun! If you add a lose state, and potentially use the stars as a currency in a shop that unlocks stuff in a run, I can definitely see this as a fully fledged game!
However, I wish there was a way to speed up the animation. I know it's a game jam game, but if I wasn't a fan of games like these, I probably would've lost my patience.
Congrats on finishing in Era 3, that's the best we managed as well! And thanks for the suggestions, I could definitely see this becoming more of a roguelike and having your score become a currency to improve future games. As for being able to change the game speed, this is 100% something we would have also liked but sadly didn't have enough time to implement. Glad you enjoyed the game nevertheless :)
