Ranked from 87 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
This is a parkour and music game. The player is stuck in an infinite loop. They must collect the missing music loops and parkour through the realm in order to outrun the shadows. Every collected loop adds a new musical layer and unlocks new movement, until the full track drops. But also, there's a deeper metaphor.

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
All assets, code, images, and music in the final game were made by me.

Logotype font:
"Press Start 2P by Codeman38" (google fonts)

kenney.nl prototype textures were used in the prototyping phase.

FMOD was used as audio middleware.

For my first game (and gamejam game) I naturally decided to do an EASY genre like 3d parkour with fluid movement and a dynamic music system. (/s)

Your Average rank is #1356 in GMTK 2025! Congrats! And congrats for #20 in Audio!

Here is the link with all the rankings:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pcYEGvaHF3y30mMEWwywmkRd2FCpo-u3_ZFpPFSo...

I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with Mark that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.

I love the idea of slowly recollecting parts of the music. Fun Gameplay too!

Hello! Good entry for having just started using the engine!

Even if the mechanics are relatively simple (jump, slide, wallslide) the increase in spead is what made it a little more interesting. Cool music evloution. Though I felt the last part was lasting a little too much without many changes.

Sensitivity slider would go a long way, alongside a way to lessen the camera movement, the slide was especially jarring. However, the way the game introduced mechanics was very intuitive, I felt personally like I knew what to do when every new obstacle was introduced, and I like how you cut down the mechanics right after you pick up one of the instruments and THEN mix it together. I think the wall-running felt a little off, like I snapped onto it prematurely? I think it could feel better if I only began wall-running after reaching the apex of the jump. I think another thing that could improve it is (if/when you add more generation sections if you continue this) would be to let there be turns or verticality changes, to break up monotony of running in a straight line. Lastly, if there was some kind of effect of the void approaching, that would add a lot. Maybe a glow from behind, or some sound effect slowly getting louder, would help tell me how far behind the void is without having to turn around.

The music was great, and the extra speed later on was great too (although the void plane was pretty far behind, so maybe it should speed up or something to stay closer)

I have a lot to say because this game is a good little game, it's got quality bones at its core.

(p.s - The  UIs seems to scale wrong for me, and be stuck in a smaller section of the screen, and not where I scaled the window up to)

Thank you for the honest feedback! it's my first game so there were a lot of things I wanted to do that I simply couldn't get right within the timeframe.

I appreciate the feedback and will try to address as many of these things as possible in the post-jam version!

Felt like beatsaber, in a good way! Got pretty far once I got the mechanics down. I enjoyed the bangin track with most of the pieces in place. Drove me to keep going to see where it ended up, nice! Thanks for sharing :D

Thank you for the kind words! I am glad you had fun!
I will continue to add to this game after the jam!

I had fun! I always love a good parkour game and I feel like this implements the basic mechanics quite nicely. The wall run felt a bit choppy, I expected to jump onto the wall and basically stick to it, rather than holding spacebar to stay on it, but that could just be me. Anyways, good job!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed! Yeah I called it a "wallrun" but it's more like a "wallride"

I liked the music. The movement felt good, especially once you get to the boosting section. I'm not sure about the amount of time you can hold down the slide button (or the jump button) - it felt like wall running was just a very long extended jump more so than a wall run.

Nice job!

Thank you for the feedback!

Hey, this was a really fun game! I loved the dynamic nature of the soundtrack, and the platforming felt good, even with its early stage.

Cheers!

Out of all the games I've played so far in the jam, this is the one that got me into the flow state the best.  Absolutely hypnotic experience.  The player character feels absolutely great to move with, the music slams, and you have a great difficulty curve that ramps with the changes to the music.  I also used FMOD solo for the first time this jam and I know that is not an easy tool to learn while making the rest of the game, let alone one that feels this good.  You've got your game feeling and sounding good, now you just need to get some visual juice and you've got everything that makes up a great game.

For this to be your first game is absolutely nutty I cannot wait to see what you make next.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I have been absolutely humbled by the reception and I am super grateful!

I will continue to polish and update LOOPDROP after the jam!

This is a great idea for a parkour runner game! Gives me Just Shapes and Beats vibes with how it connects music to different kinds of obstacles. Have to say, though, I almost thought the game was endless with how long the game lasted after the final music track was collected.

Developer

The game is timed weird, and it was almost endless! In the prototype I had procedural generation.

If you go as fast as possible, you should be able to get to the end JUST AS the music stops!

Thank you for the kind words!

Super fun, I love speedrunning games that focus on movement like this or Neon White. Thanks for the fun time!

Developer

I'm so glad you had fun! If you have any tips or ideas for ways I can make the game more fun, please let me know!

Absolutely hype inducing game! I think it wouldve been perfect if the game started speeding up more when having more music tracks play, it wouldve been epic! Overall the movement was also really good, wouldve loved seeing any sort of more different mechanics over jump and crouch and wall sliding though ,but overall great job on the jam!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I had a lot of ideas for things I wanted to add but ended up cutting most of them for time (because I'm a noob)

Absolutely killer soundtrack and such a smooth parkour experience! The movement feels tight and immersive

Developer

Thank you very much for the kind words! This means a lot! I put a lot of time into both the music and the movement experience.

I loved this game!  It was well built, especially with it being your first game.  I like how the music built up as the loops were collected and added to the loop theme as well.  I also really appreciate that this game was you taking back your creativity .  It might not be for the same exact reasons, but there have been times where I felt like I lost myself, my sense of control, and my creativity.  It's not an easy thing to recover from.  And I'm glad making this game helped you with that.

Developer(+1)

Yeah! Honestly joining this gamejam was the best thing I could have done for myself. It restored a lot of my confidence and made me feel like it was finally safe to make art again. I went through a really rough time in the last 3 years and I think I had to have those bad experiences so I could appreciate the climb back out, and the subsequent release of my first game.

I am so glad you loved the game and I am very grateful for your kind review :)

Love the music!

Developer

Thank you! The music was a lot of work! I had to learn FMOD during the jam to get it to behave as I wanted!

Love the sound track, and the parkour elements and fast paced-ness helped create cohesion with the music.  Wonderfully done!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! I am so glad you had fun!

Amazing sound track you have! Interesting to see a parkour game, first one for this jam for me so far. Loved the detail where your camera slightly tilts when sliding, really makes it feel immersive.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! I put a lot of work into making the movement system as fluid and polished as I could within the given timeframe!

Very well developed game, visuals are iffy but other than that, it is very enjoyable. The challenge is friendly and easy enough for everyone to play but hard enough to actually be challenging. Interesting Void story. Audio is spot on with the pace of the parkour.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

Really felt like I was part of a Parkour and free running youtube vid.
and felt just as cool

Thank you so much! I am so glad you had fun!
