Game Description
Navigate through an invisible maze! The nearest block in front of the player becomes visible after each move, and the player can explode that block with a shot (if you have any shots left)

How does your game tie into the theme?
The maze starts out invisible, but becomes more visible as the game progresses. Exploding parts of the maze is for the "Boom" wildcard

Very cool concept, I like the idea of just being able to destroy walls. The art style was super simple yet it was a nice and clean asthetic!

Lol yeah it's similar with my game, except wall keep hidden when walking in my game

it's good game but control in your game make me confused, i think it can rotate 360 degree

Btw I want to ask how to create those donation button?

i want to create those button too, but itch io by default not have donation button when game using html 5

Developer

Thanks! Yeah I'm working on an update to the controls that I'm planning to release as soon as the rating period for the jam is over. It isn't a perfect fix, but I think it'll be a lot better.

I'm honestly not sure about the donation button. I didn't intentionally put it there, but these are the settings for my itch page, so I'm assuming this is where that came from:

Liked the color palette, good job on the entry!

Great game! It was interesting deciding whether to just shoot at whatever was in front of me, or go the long way, risking to run out of time.

I also got confused with the controls, but found a workaround by remaping the controls. I made A and D rotate, and other random letters for moving sideways, since that was the most confusing part for me :)

Fun idea and a good execution! I personally felt that the 'tank controls' for movement threw me off a little bit and it did take me a hot second to actually  realise i could also rotate. That said, i liked how interactive and responsive the enviroment felt, the music was nice and there was a good bit of low stakes pressure/fun to be had.

Would love to see a version with perhaps more abilities/enviromental puzzle pieces. Nice job!

It feels so alive and finished, that's impressive!

I wish the controls stayed within the same axis as the camera; it was a bit hard to navigate the maze.

Good job! It was fun!

I couldn't help but try a submission that had the same name as mine 😂
Very smart concept and gameplay, good job!

It seems like I'm on top of the current leaderboard :D What did I won? 😁

Me going: "17k??" at the end of my run :0

Thanks for playing!

Dang I was wondering if anyone would beat my score, I figured I probably spent more time testing my game than anyone would actually spend playing it lol. Good job! I think that means you can honestly say you won this game jam

Submitted(+1)

That was fun! It uses the theme quite literally but also intelligently :D I enjoyed just brute-forcing my way until I find a wall and rotating around to see more walls. I would prefer if the sprite rotated but the directional controls didn't also change orientation because it felt like a extra UX barrier 😅 really enjoyed the puzzles though, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I have actually created an update that changes the controls to be exactly how you've described them (based on similar feedback in other comments), but unfortunately I can't push it to itch until after the jam

I think my brain is too smooth for this game. It feels very polished tho.

Very cool little game. I thought everything from the visuals to the music all worked really well together. I think it would have been useful to make a full screen/bigger version of the game. As is, it could be a struggle to see what was happening at times. Great entry.

Thank you!

The game is a little difficult to pick up, but once you get into it is really fun. Love the minimalist design and sound effects. I spent a few minutes admiring the main menu.

I think the game could benefit from a reworked control scheme. While I eventually got the hang of it, having to think about which way I am facing, quickly become tiring. Maybe adding an arrow/some sense of direction could help?

Overall, great game, nice work :)

Developer

Thanks for sticking with it!

The control problem seems to be a common feedback. I’ve made an update that hopefully helps, but can’t release it until after the jam

Submitted(+1)

i like it's good and easy to understand, but i think isa a little bit difficult

Submitted(+1)

I liked the minimal art style and color palette :) Even the menu animation was great and the game looks fun and intuitive from the screenshots. Unfortunately it felt strange/difficult to play. Maybe some more work on player interaction and controls would've made it feel more cohesive. Good job overall :)

Submitted(+1)

Dude, nobody does color palettes like you...  game was fun and intuitive

Developer

Thanks! I borrowed these colors from here: https://lospec.com/palette-list/pastel-qt

I’ve found that nice colors and geometric shapes tend to look better than me actually trying to do art lol

Submitted(+1)

Very nice! Absolutely love the main menu animation, I know it's a minor detail but it's very nice.  The visuals provide really intuitive feedback on how the game works, I really like the concept. As others have said the controls could use some tweaking, as they feel a bit clunky. Having to rotate the character feels a bit cumbersome, especially with the timer being a factor. Over all nice work though, very clean game

Thank you!

What a unique concept! I also love the minimal art style of the game. The controls are pretty hard to get used to though.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah I'm working on a post-jam patch for the controls, I couldn't settle on something that felt more intuitive

Submitted(+1)

Amazing entry!

Really polished but simplistic menu animations and the game principle gets you engaged in a short time. Didn't find any bugs and had fun playing it!

Developer

Thanks!

We almost picked the exact same name for our game but changed it within a few hours of submission lol! I absolutely loved how the theme was implemented in this game. I did however feel like the controls were kind of clunky? Maybe? I could just be bad though you never know. Very simple concept executed very well. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! Haha yeah I had a feeling there might be a few games with this name. I definitely agree about the controls, but couldn’t figure out a way to make it feel more natural - at least not in the time I had. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I did just have a thought actually in regards to the controls. Maybe this would feel better, or it could be a whole lot more confusing idk, but basically my idea is that you use wasd for directional movement and you use the arrow keys for your sight rotational direction (if that makes sense). I totally get the time constraint though. We had a hard time making all of our ideas come together as clearly as we wanted them to be.

Developer

I’ll have to try that out after the jam, thanks!
