Oooh, I love this one! I'm glad I read the tips to understand the momentum part, I don't think I would have understood that without it, but it feels really nice. This definitely has speedrunning potential, I'd love to see a list of my times at the end!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much fragskye, i'm glad you enjoyed it ! I definitely could have added the momentum part in the game, but got cut short by the time sadly. The list of times is a great idea ! It's definitely something I'd add if I made another game of this kind. Also I made it with speedrunning in mind so we agree on that point :D

I loved the atmosphere of this game, it was a bit tricky at first (I suck at platformers) but I ended up having a lot of fun with it! The leap of faith at certain jumps was anxiety inducing in a good way. The visuals fit it really well too, really good execution of the theme honestly! :)

Thank you so much for the kind words ! I'm so glad you liked it and finished it <3

You're welcome! I'm surprised I was even able to finish it considering how bad I am at platoformers LMAO

Very fun game! Great idea, but I got stuck at the second level itself... The tutorial could have been more helpful

Developer

Thanks for playing ! Yeah the tutorial itself was added in the last hour so it's definitely not that helpful haha. Sorry about that !

Very smooth gameplay!! and the visuals fit in perfectly for this kind of game

Developer

Glad you liked it ! It was my first time experiencing with textures and light :D

Developer(+1)

I tried to make it a bit speedrun friendly :D

I enjoyed this - a great interpretation of the theme and smooth gameplay. I love the environment and the general design. Very good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words ! I'm really glad you enjoyed it

Really enjoyed this one. Nice idea with revealing parts of the level and having the player remember when to jump. The sound cues are a nice touch so you can tell when the floating platforms are going to start moving another direction.

Developer

Glad you liked it ! At the beginning I planned to only have a sound cue when the platforms changed direction, but it would've been way to hard I think haha

Submitted(+1)

Nice work! We went in a similar direction with our game, involving memorizing 3D platforming levels. I enjoyed the dash mechanic! It would be nice to have some visual indicator of when it's recharged though, I died a few times falling into the abyss because I thought I had a dash ready to go lol

Nice work though! The cutscene at the start was really cool

Developer(+1)

I thought about adding the dash visual indicator as you said, but sadly didn't have time to do so, I was busy on sunday.

I was thinking the same about your game, we went into very similar directions for that theme !

Glad you enjoyed the game :D

This is definitely a really challenging game. It’s very difficult to try and keep track, in ones head, not just the location of hidden platforms, but their movements too! A definitely rage game for some, that’s for sure!

Still, I thought the game was pretty well laid out. I definitely think this game could use some extra systems to bring down the difficulty, though.

  1. A pickup item you could have in your inventory that, when used, will reveal the platforms (similar to how the blue cubes do) but from anywhere. The more higher the difficulty, the less of these pickups are available.

  2. Give the player the ability to control the level preview screen. This could also be tied to difficulty. On easy, the player can free-roam the level for as long as they want. On medium, the player can free-roam, but it’s timed. On hard mode, keep it as it is, no player control and a singular fly-by.

Just thoughts I had for if you were to continue with this project. As it stands, while the game is probably past my gamer skills after the first two or three levels, I still can see a really nice, solid game here!

Here’s a link to my stream of this game!

Developer

Thanks again for your review and all your tips ! I loved watching you play the game on stream, it was so fun to see someone play the game you've created. Much love <3

damn i really enjoy these type speed running games. really well done i laughed when i couldn't figure something out then i read to look at the bottom left.

Developer

Hahaha I added that first tip when I submitted the game for the first time, thinking I wouldn't have time to add the signs to tell the mechanics to the player. Now that you say it it's so stupid I'm gonna leave it here 😂

I digged the game! It was a lot harder than I expected! I love the dash, which made one (atleast) level cheesable.

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it ! I made some levels cheesable on purpose for hardcore gamers haha

Submitted(+1)

I think its fun, but I dont like the lasers.

Cool game! I got to the level after the one where the platforms meet. Pretty difficult or I just suck lol.

Developer

Thanks for playing ! Yeah this level and the last one are the most difficult ones. I had to make some last seconds adjustements with fog, because I was using volumetric fog and switched to standard fog (because volumetric wasn't working with web export). It ended up having a bit too much fog for the level you mentionned, making it harder than expected. Still glad you liked it ! :D

What a cool concept, i had a lot of fun :D I beat the one with the moving platform and barrier but couldnt beat the one after that. Its a skill game which i like a lot.

Great game :D

Coincidently we used the same win sound and that confused me the first win ^^

Developer(+1)

Yeah I made the game a bit difficult on purpose, so that you have to play with the moving platforms velocity. Glad you enjoyed it !

About the win sound I can imagine your confusion haha :D

You really do have to watch your step.  Though a bit hard, it's simple and fun to play. Good work!

I really liked the dash mechanic. It felt super satisfying. Nice game!

Submitted(+1)

I liked it! The dash felt really satisfying and the main mechanic made me think of the Bottom of the Well dungeon from Ocarina of Time.
Nice work!

game is fun, took some time to adjust to the movement tho :0

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing ! <3

What do you mean by adjust to the movement ? Like the keybinds or do you mean the movement feels clunky ?
