So something to keep in mind, because the game's height exceeds my screen's height I can't properly play the entire view of the game and there should be a fullscreen option in itch.
Anyways, just played some of the game I couldn't get through the entire thing because voting is about to expire but I love the overall gameplay, art and feel despite my lack of time.
The player can climb, jump, jump on walls, shoot and deals with various enemies (I've only encountered the shooting enemy and the "Goomba" like enemy from Super Mario.
This game reminds me a lot of the original Super Mario Bros for NES, due to various level designs and this is a platformer game like that game.
Not much to add, it's taking a good deal from Kirby and doing something neat with it.
I did find one door that didn't go back, but did place me in a wrong place. Second level, candy cane room.
Very cool game, definitely evocates the NES era. Graphics, hard game play, chiptunes. Great job

I'm your buggest fan
Nice color choice that make it really resemble NES
Amazing entry. Very much like original NES, but also fun and responsive. Music was great too.
Very good game, super fun and really well made. I really liked the graphics and music, and the mechanics are very polished. The level design is very diverse, and the game is a joy to play. Honestly, there’s not much to add — this could easily be the winner of this edition of the jam.
This is a brilliant platformer. The star mechanic is unique and offers plenty of versatility between stages-- and the stages are designed wonderfully around their obstacles and challenges. The graphics are beautiful, reminiscent of Kirby's Adventure and Gimmick! with playful music and sound effects to match. This really feels like an NES cartridge that we missed and have only just recently dumped a polished prototype build.
Magnificent game!
Some of those star spots were really evil, but I found them all. Good game! Glad you kept the star thing as a central mechanic
The fact you squeezed so many neat results from just tossing out a little star, and the environment's effect on that, is brilliant.
There is nothing to make me believe that this wasn't actually a NES game from back in the day! lol Brilliant!
Fantastic! Really authentic NES vibes, and clever design all around. I love that there was no introductory dialogue. A good game explains itself thru play, and this does, beautifully.
Kirby called and they want their IP back. It certainly has Kirby vibes, right down to how a couple of the enemies act on the screen and there is nothing wrong with that. It plays fairly well, for sure. I just wish I wasn't dying while in the first room half the time I tried to enter an area. Thank kuro lives were unlimited.
Notes:
This was so much fun from start to finish! Even going back to find the missing stars was a joy. I loved the animation, audio, and game mechanics here. 5/5 across the board from me on this one. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
The movement and the hidden advanced mechanics (like the powerup star) felt so satisfying to use. Only suggestion I'd have is to make the groundpound Down+Jump or Down+Shoot instead of just Down. I played on an old controller with a sort of wobbly D-Pad so I had quite a few accidental ground pound inputs from that control scheme.
Really fun experience start to finish. Love the graphics, audio, and boss fight design! Incredibly authentic to NES style. Great work!!
Frimble more like fun-ble, 5/5.
Such a well done game. Nice work I would have absolutely loved this on NES and still love it on PC
Made it to the end with all the stars! This game is great. The level design is really well-done
Cool mechanics, smooth gameplay. Love it!
