Its a wonderful submission! very impressive, great visuals and concept! Enemies are very hard to see which makes it very very hard to make progress, but it does feel like it was part of the idea. Again, well done on this game its a really good one!

The screaming, god the screaming...

The game is really hard! I loved the art and the shader effects. Just as a suggestion, the controls were a little bit unintuitive.

Some of the best visuals I've seen :0

Amazing game

Really cool game. It was a bit too hard for me but I might come back for more later. The screaming of the enemies was a bit too much for me though.

It's not my type of game, but very solid submission nonetheless! Glad I got to play this one.

Very stylish game, love the retro vibe! And the screams will haunt my dreams haha.

Thanks for joining the jam! :D

The lighting effects are great! Personally, I didn't mind the movement. It's like rowing in Minecraft, you just kind of always use forward and then you use the mouse to steer. I'm so squishy though...dying comes super easily haha! I saw that you asked for suggestions, the biggest thing I'd love to see is armor pickups in the beginning!

A particularly squishy player is actually a last minute mistake of setting the health of the player to 10, instead of 100 as I planned lol.. but it did make for a challenging loop though.

Glad you liked it!

The movement really takes me out of it. Not much fun to be had when you constantly bonk into everything. Other than that, great work

I got stuck with a "investigate before going further into the jungle" but I don't even know what I was looking for that I had to investigate... If it was because I must kill everybody in the area, it wasn't clear enough and I believed I had killed everyone until I went waaay back to the beginning and there was a guy there. Then I died with a single shot.

I also have to always be pressing against a barrel to pick up the fuel, it feels like it could give me a bit of grace and allow me to already pick it up when the message to pick it up is showing.

I suggest adding a health system to the main character, and give the player the option to navigate with AWSD (that's just a preference thing when I'm not using a joystick).

The ambiance is very nice. Good use of the art and SFX.

One more thing is that there are some pretty big gaps between rocks that I'm sure the character could fit through but doesn't, and that frustrates me a bit while trying to navigate xD More obvious blockages would be nice.

Overall fun!

After you pick up the radio (near the watchtower) you have an instruction to "go back to the helicopter", from the helicopter you can go back towards the part you investigate and then you are able to burn the bush to continue.
I was working close to deadline so unfortunately couldn't make it clearer :)
Thank you for the overall feedback, those are notes that I have definitely taken for improvement after the voting ends, for the first patch!

WOW!

very fun concept! the visuals are fantastic. there isn't much much telegraphing that you can enter the truck and it's a little jank, but all the other mechanics feel great. the fire spreading from enemy to enemy is a nice touch. i had fun :)
