Congrats on your great jam result. I wanted to ask you, if you are interested in the Odin Book of Karl, as I already own it and the rest of our team are not programmers. If yes I will gift one book to you, which you can claim on itch.io. You can pm me in discord. If you joind Karl’s discord channel, I’m also called gordonshamway23 there.
This is addicting
This was so much fun! Really cool idea and the execution is awesome!
Very neat game. A little bit slow-paced but base x2-x5 speedup button can fix it easily :)
Love it.

Very well done! I love the well detailed menu, too. I could have used a “fast forward” mechanic. I’m quite an impatient gamer hehe
Nice! Played for awhile and died on wave 9. Really like the concept. Is there a way to pause the plant? I couldn't expand my mines while it kept generating units at a 100 cost. I also didn't figure out how to get over a 10 unit cap. Maybe I needed to build more turrets to survive. It kept me engaged the whole time and I could see it being more engrossing if expanded a little more. Great work!
The limit of units is 10, and it cannot be increased, it’s just something that wasn’t added because of lack of time. This and other stuff could be added with some sort of Research (from some Laboratory or from Nexus) – that was idea and never get in. The game nature is kind of “a lot of stuff is automated” so yes, you cannot pause Plant and you need to plan when to build it. It is probably better to have when you have at least steady 1,000 gold in the bank, so you almost will not notice it.
I get to about 14 wave and the tactic was – build turrets only (keep an eye on from which side enemies go and how many of them, so you don’t make turret at wrong side and has no money for correct side). I build plant after maybe 7-8 wave, second plant probably after 11-12. The idea is that units costs less than turret, but they rebuild automatically and they are mobile, so with larger base they will just move where enemy is. In terms of whose units is stronger – players or enemies? – answer is: they are identical :) Again, some more units should be added (when playing it is obvious idea) but as we have only 7 days, i spent time in other areas. That is why no enemy variations, not many different buildings no researches (unit capacity, faster roads, better turrets etc).
Maybe that crazy, but actually building progress (like time to build) was added in the last day, maybe 8 hours before jam end. Before that building was instant :) and let me tell you, there are strategies/cheating like when you just insta-rebuild same mine so enemies are staying in place :D – that was not looking good. I had two ideas: block building ability while enemies around OR to add building time so it’s not possible to just rebuild 10 times in 10 seconds same node… the building time is more natural i guess, so here it is :)
Thank you for the feedback! <3
I can't imagine it with instant building and the time to build is a good feature. Glad that came together for you. Really good core for sure. It's also interesting when you have injured units and you know they're going to die quickly in the next round. Appreciate the thorough description and glad I wasn't missing anything in the existing version.
The beginning is a bit slow, I wish I could speed it up a bit, but damn. 5/5 Really complete and fun gameplay loop
Got pretty far this time, but the random growth side meant that I was pretty undefended on this last wave. Two tweaks I'd love to see, Plants should increase the player unit cap, and maybe a cost to remove a building so you can reinforce an area. Died with 9k gold, couldn't do much to save myself. Also not sure how I feel about the plants auto using your gold, its only a problem if you are short on gold. A tech tree for upgrades, or even ground patches that give you certain other boosts that could be returned to your base could be a nice way to add depth. I think this is my favorite game of the Jam.
Thank you for the feedback <3
Ambitious entry for a game jam!
Had to restart a few times while figuring out the game in the beginning, but didn't mind and really enjoyed the exploration. However after some time I didn't know what else do except to wait. I could not figure out if there was a strategy in how to build the roads, or if it was just the positioning of the buildings that mattered.
That said I really see the potential in expanding on this, especially with different buildings having road capacities. Well done!
very fun game love the hole consept one of the better games in the jam
Amazing game, I played it quite a bit (8 cycles).
I can see this getting more content and becoming a great full game.
I wish there was a 2x speed button, though :)
Really interesting concept! But like others have mentioned the game could really use some way to fast forward because you're constantly waiting for the next wave to spawn.
Too slow for my taste - I much prefer the unlimited time controls - both for speed and rewind/undo. I would really enjoy experimenting with constructing the graphs of this nature if only game wasn't this sloooow. Also, there's no way to sell a poorly placed tower - the only way to fix a mistake is to restart from scratch. Also, I couldn't figure out how to make forks in the road - I was only allowed to build new roads starting from the nexus. Maybe this can be fixed with more detailed instructions on the game page.
Every node has road limit. This limit is displayed at the left UI frame when you select any node. Empty node has limit 2, so that is why you can only build “straight” roads. That was an idea if you want fast getting to some rich deposit, and you don’t want to spend gold building intermediate buildings. Anyway, that should be explained better but the game :)
And thank you for the feedback!
I really got sucked into this one and spent a long time playing - great job!
Great game. I played until I died after 40 enemies spawned (wave 9?) 5/5
Really like this one! I just wish there was a fast forward button, it's a bit boring waiting 3 minutes in between waves after you have built everything
This is neat and impressive for a jam game. The UI is pretty good.
Woah this is super solid game!
I really enjoyed the game, although its mechanics weren’t immediately clear.
Super fun game, I wish it was a littler faster. Great potential though!
Agreed. The action starts more like after 10+ minutes. At first, I was thinking that it’s fine, as new player needs to understand what’s going on as there is no tutorial. But no, fun watching on moving things is like 15-30 sec, then you need some action, and there is not much going on :)
Thank you for the feedback!
