Star Control II was a hugely influential game and there is a legally ok open source version here: The Ur-Quan Masters - Downloads
The Toys for Bob guys went from this to creating the whole Skylanders phenomenon so they are a good team to learn from.

Thanks mfbulut! My musician friend TChop has some good tracks.

Nice! I did mine that way as well with a trackpad and gamepad. Not sure about you but sometimes getting out of the regular spot and using a laptop is refreshing for focus. I also find box2d tuning a challenge.

Ah! Thank you, my read of the instructions made me think I was doing something wrong with the left click. I will give it another go.

It felt random in my couple runs and then I got used to what order to pick things up in and choosing when to flee. Would have loved more of a risk/reward for sticking it through the fight but I liked the loot, stab, flee kind of vibe that got me to the castle. CRT filter adds a lot of charm and the polish level is great. Great work, a very complete experience. Core loop is great.

I couldn't grasp the mechanic on a trackpad on my laptop. I think I'll come back with a mouse and see if it works better. Really appreciate you being clear on the AI art. You were able to get a good vibe that all worked together which still gets high marks for graphics from me. If you have any tips on how to control the skull it would be much appreciated and may boost my enjoyment.

The explosion sound and graphics really give a solid impact and the vibe is nice. Well done.

This is juiced real nicely. The VFX, music, SFX and voice acting are all top notch.

Growing up on text adventure games this was a nice revisiting of that mechanic. I liked having to go back and forth between steering and orders. A nice concept well executed. Amazing in 48h!

Nice work, start of a nice mechanic. I really like how you showed the controls so clearly.

Well tuned! Was sad to see the sun go off screen at 850 but I almost got to see the moon. Graphics are great and I liked the max yeet where you gamble by going off screen. Nice work!

Nice start to a typing experience. I like the typography look and sounds. The typing animation is smooth as well. Nice work.

Nice work. I made it to level 4 and will be back to play again.

It did turn out to be a bit mad! I was making all the wall tiles and alien enemy in my last hour. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

I enjoy me some minesweeper. Not sure if it is an issue with the edge browser but I think I could only see part of the map. Congratulations on completing the jam.

Nice start! Couldn't beat level 2. Congratulations on finishing something that works for the jam!

I don't play this style of game and really had no idea what was going on other than me matching tiles and I had fun!

Had fun. Had to call it at the 5m mark.

Wow! An entire upgrade tree and a day/night cycle. I really like the feedback from yeeting yourself against the trees. Wish I could zoom in a bit or have a bigger render. Really nice base here!

Oh man, frustrating in a good way.

Works as advertised. I clicked that tater tot a lot.

Wow! There is a lot going on there! Found the little mushroom/cookie guys very hard to kill as they run away faster. I think with a bit of an easier lead in I could get hooked on this. What a great chef game!

Nice work! Good use of shaders and I like the contrast of the gray blocks with the colourful fractal.

Thanks Spacemad! I liked making the procedural levels that grow after each time as well and yeah, the mini-map is a life saver. I haven't played long enough but it will grow to cover the entire screen...

Nice work! It looks really good but I honestly wasn't sure where to go or what to do. I did fight some enemies coming out of a portal and I had fun running around. I didn't seem to be able to interact.  Good work though, impressive looking in 48h and reading that your son helped out is awesome.

Great start and concept. Is the blue mode on a timer? I like how you build up layering the levels over each other. Got difficult for me fast but was fun.

Sucked me in! Progress Quest meets Cookie clicker with typing?  I had a lot of fun but did get stuck on this colon while typing. The typing assist got me past it thankfully. Played through to the singularity and had a lot of fun. Great entry and you nailed the look. Oddly this is one of the few entries that had my laptop get hot while playing! Great work.

I am excited for space launch games and this is a great start. I couldn't figure out how to use the different thrusters. I like the launch animation.

I enjoyed it as an old Star Control II fan this hit the right vibes. Was struggling to figure out if the slow turn speed was best or if a bit more turn control would add to the experience. Found it hard to evade and use gravity pulls. Great core and nice work!

Nicely done! The rope tether is really well done and a new element in this kind of genre to me. I like the weapon tuning and enemies and would love more progression and upgrades. Good job!

Addictive little challenge. My trackpad was not the most accurate to play but I still did about 10-15 rounds. Good physics tuning. I could barely crack the 500-1000 range.

Had fun! I like the gory cow death and VFX for the ship being hit. Bonus points for the space cat!

I liked the Neapolitan and the shots that penetrated through multiple enemies. Great start and awesome to power through even with work.

really enjoyed this. The book theme is great and that is a lot of puzzle variety, including fun with binary! Great job. Adding a speed run option with a timer would be fun and I could see a longer collection of these being a commercial game. It had a nice chill vibe.

The movement speed and box speed is tuned well. I also like when a box runs into another box. Great start for a 48h jam and as some of the other comments mention a little more feedback for the player would go a long way! Core is good.

I enjoyed the pacman growth. Wasn't sure on the bet return on investment. Love that you entered and did this so quick.

Yeah, I was hoping for a more survivors like experience in first person with characters and meta progression. But...48 hours....so yeah :D

Wishing I started with it to be honest. I think next time I would get the gameplay in 2D and then try and add 3d. Got to lost in the controls/gamepad/mouse look and should have stuck to the core loop. Thanks for playing!

Thank you like minded Sanlem! Your verision looked really cool as well but maybe you were clamping out at max screen height on the sides? I like how yours has a beginning and an end....mine goes on forever!

I liked the typo! It felt like it was emphasizing it in a cool way.
