Fun puzzle! It was pretty challenging!

Fun little puzzle game. I liked the explosions. Though I think my brain isn't big enough for this lmao

Really cool game! I liked the mechanics. Its simple in concept but you still managed to make the levels have some complexity and challenge to them.

There were a few levels that felt a bit slow thought, such as “Timings”, waiting for the ball to bounce back and forth for awhile. But there was only a few instances of this.

Really well done! Good job!

Really fun game! I loved the art that you did for this game, it all looks amazing! You balanced the levels to scale up difficulty really well in a challenging way but not impossible to beat. Overall, great job & great game!

Thank you very much! Glad you liked it!

Very fun game which took me back to the old days of 1990-2000 :D It reminded me very much of shareware and other games which were often included in magazines, especially the graphics style!

Developer

You got it right! The game is inspired by a Commodore64 game that came out in the late 80's in a magazine! Glad you liked it!

The background image having some animation would make the game more dynamic. Especially in level 4, with all the blue blocks, I missed an option to speed up the ball.

Other than that, the game was very interesting and I managed to play until Ciao. :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing my game! I had thought about making the background animated, but I was afraid it would distract attention from the movement of the ball! You are the only one so far who has played it to the end! Thank you! :-)

I understand (because I already made the mistake of making a background that was too flashy) hahaha

But look at the background of this game, for example. It's something very subtle, perhaps at first glance it seems like it's a static image, but it still gives a little movement and makes the game, overall, more dynamic. I believe your game would benefit from something like this. :)

Nice polish - sadly my reflexes are no where near good enough and I couldn't get past the first level after a dozen tries. That said, the sounds and graphics were well suited and the game presented as nice and clean. Well done.

Very classic look - throws me right back to 90s shareware! And that's great - I really enjoyed the experience, it's hard, and unforgiving in the best of ways - forcing that "just one more try-feeling" and the dopamine kick when you time your moves correctly - all in all a super solid production.

Deliciously difficult mechanics. I love a game that's hard to play. I really liked testing my reflexes and appreciated the slow unfolding of more complexity with progression. It felt very rewarding when I cleared a level too! I couldn't count how many times I had to restart but when that level was cleared I was elated. Great entry!

The last two commenters sum up my thoughts perfectly - Loved the progression of mechanics and I can't quite place my finger on exactly what but it totally reminds me of something (and feels like) from the early 90s

Nice slow drip of mechanics to get you used to things as you get further!

I really loved this. felt like something I’d find on an old 255-in-1 demo disc for Windows 3.1

Fun game! It was a bit challenging at times but I liked your level design and SFX.

Submitted(+1)

Fun and simple! A bit challenging though, but it kept me hooked. Nice level design.

Simple yet fun game. The puzzles were cleverly designed and the different kinds of blocks kept the gameplay interesting even after many levels.

The only problem i see with the game are the controls. The ball just feels unresponsive, and you can only move in these large increments which makes some of the levels a bit frustrating, as they would require more precise controlling.

Developer

Thank you for your appreciation! The game is designed to make only diagonal moves, it's part of the gameplay! Even the original C64 game was made in this way.

cool game, played until level 8 (order) and had genuinely fun!

my main critique would be:

  • music missing. i think this would be an awesome game for some 8-bit synth music. still: awesome sound fx!
  • theme missing(?). the only point where I had to give a "bad" rating. things being destroyed are present in a lot of games. I, unfortunately, can not see the "erase" part. I may reconsider this when I have played more games of the jam!

Thank you for playing my game! As I said to the other user, I didn't find a music that matched the atmosphere I had in mind, so I preferred a wind noise instead.

I gave up on the third level after 6 attempts

Cool take, my favorite thing about it (as an audio man) is how there's no music and the sounds of explosions and the ball hitting against objects make the music. It made the game more satisfying imo

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing my game and for the appreciation! I was undecided for a long time whether to include music, but I could not find anything adequate to give the atmosphere I had in mind. In the end, I chose a background wind sound.

My honest opinion (as a musician) is that you took the right approach

I almost gave up too. But you do not need to pass by in the bottom row! choose the one above!
