Fun game! Most of the tiles are not used in the levels, so I think you could have limited the amount of possible places you can put a card. I also think the distance the robot has to travel should be shorter, most of your time is spent waiting rather then solving puzzles. Overall, I can see you put a lot of effort into these puzzles, nice job!

Thank you so much!

I liked the concept of using cards to control the robot and solve the puzzle!

The cards are a cool concept and I enjoyed the creativity involved in some of the solutions!  I think it would be better to have less positions to place the cards though - most of the tile shown in any given level never seem to get used.  The challenge to me seems to be more fun to think of as 'which cards should I use' rather than 'where should I place them'.  The levels themselves are cleverly put together, but could do with scaling down a fair bit (instead of speeding up the robot?).  Nice work though, this is definitely a fun mechanic!

A nice concept, a lot of things didn't function well on the download version for some reason.

The large 3D background looks amazing but very out of place and unnecessary. Could definitely use some work and made into a satisfying puzzle game.

Very nice idea, I just wish that there was a pause menu, but other than that, it is a perfect game

Pretty cool game idea and good execution. Music fitted pretty well the gameplay. Visuals need a little bit of polish though :) . The card system works surprisingly well and the game itself encourages experimentation. Reminded me a bit of the Scratch program. Could be maybe a good way to teach kids to program in a visually pleasing way.

The Game is Good

I Like How You Can Place The Cards Down While The Robot is Moving and The Level Text Intro Was a Nice Touch But There Should’ve Been a Good and Clear Explanation for What Each Card Does

Also Another Major Problem I Had With The Game is That The Robot Moves Way to Slow and Since The Robot is Placed Far Away From The Action After Many Times It’s Very Boring to Watch It Slowly Crawl It’s Way Just to Get Killed and Start Over

But Overall It’s a Great Start and You Did a Good Job!

Hey thank you so much for leaving a review!

The stuff you mentioned have already been taken care of in the post jam version.

features like x2 faster button and details on cards when you hover over them.

I am taking every comment here very seriously and going to implement the fixes for each and one of them.
Good luck in the rest of the jam and thank you again.

Oh that’s great to hear! :D

Make sure not to overwork yourself and remember don’t make your game for everyone because one person might like your game this way and someone else might like it another way so make sure your taking their advice but not straying to far from your original intentions

I wish you the best of luck as well!

Overall very fun and interesting concept! Loved the art and music. Gameplay wise, I think it lacked a tutorial, I got stuck for a while before realizing I can move the cards while in play mode, and that the self destruct card destroyed spikes but didn't actually destroy the robot... Other than that, great game!

amazing concept, gameplay and all, a little rough around the edges but still amazing.

Very interesting concept and nice puzzles! I'm less fond of the red falling capsules, since I was just trying to time the start correctly, and that was a little less fun then the other mechanics.

Thanks for reviewing my game!
You can use the turn - around cards when the game is in play mode and pass those obstacles.

I like the concept and the camera work is nice too. (took me a moment to realsie that I was meant to be placing the cards - but I'm a bit slow that way!) Robot does seem to run out of energy very quickly!  For something done in just a few days it feels nice and polished (nice touch being able to turn on and off the view for the cards!)

So, some of the keyboard controls aren't as fast enough even when holding shift, and there seems to be a bug where the robot loses power super quickly when moving sometimes, but I appreciate the mouse controls being good.

The art on the cards and menu is really cute!

I like the interesting use of self-destruction with an actual purpose, with parts falling off at the cost of losing speed, but I think the physics makes stuff like that more janky than you intended. If you were to take this further, you should probably.

There's plenty of jank in the game, but I can forgive a lot of it for being made in a few days.

Also, spaces for instructions should probably stay on by default.

Additionally, I think there should be an indication on which cards will disappear after passing and which ones will stay for us to move.

Hey thank you so much for leaving a review!
The game was meant to be played with the mouse, the fact that you found out that I have implemented the keyboard controls is surprising (it's slowed down on purpose)
The robot loosing power seems to be a framerate problem which will be fixed in a post jam update alongside more features like x2 faster button and details on the cards.
I am taking every comment here very seriously and going to implement the fixes for what was mentioned.
Thanks again! and gl

That's a very cool implementation of the "AI walking on his own like an endless runner" idea.

Adding such different cards makes it a very stratigic game ( like who knew self distruction would be so helpfull), it's all about which and when to use them,

but it get's kinda frustrating when you have to wait for the robot to walk to the end. Still a very solid entry overall, can easly see it becoming something amzing.

Developer

Thanks a lot for reviewing my game! I am glad you liked it.
The slow paced robot will be changed in the post game version so that's good :)

Great sounds, art, and gameplay loop!! This is an amazing concept for a full game!

Great idea at least, the robot could look better. It seems to hard for me to understand.  But don't get me wrong, It's great!

Rob the Robot 2.0 nostalgia boogaloo, lol. Interesting concept with the cards! I think more work could've gone into level design, though. For instance, if you time the play button right you don't actually have to use any cards on level 2, and barely any of the cards on level 4. I think with more polished visuals (probably switching to 2D) and tighter level design (that builds upon itself instead of flipping mechanics on their head) and you'd have a pretty good little puzzle game here.

The game has nice music and SFX.  I really like the atmosphere of the game. I really like the smooth camera movement, I find the death animation to be quite humerous and funny. The game fits the theme pretty well. I like how you added some smaller details (for e.g. the little animations on the text).

You might have heard this before, but i wish that there was a tutorial to explain the mechanics. The tutorial dosen't have to be that complex, you can have some text on the screen and it would be fine.

But overall, good game!
