That game was really cool and a very unique idea the simple art works really well with the game and the way it plays

Really well polished platformer controls! Although I think your coyote time is set a little too high xD (which, tbf, is better than too low in my book). I loved the mechanic, in principle, but I admit to getting frustrated very quickly when being repeatedly reset on the 3rd/4th level. I can only speak for myself, but, using it more sparingly would have helped induce more of a flow state. :)

Neat controls. Good mood. But try and retry again from start is annoying, it would be more accepted if it was our fault, but half the time it's just we bump into a wall. Though game is great, and would be even better if player as a subtle hint can allow the player to avoid walls when close to. Great job.

This was a pretty neat little platformer, good work! It was a pretty unique concept, having to die to see the obstacles in the level - although I feel like it could've been implemented better, since dying over and over again to unpredictable obstacles wasn't really fun, just tedious. The level where you have to go down across the screen on invisible blocks, except at the end you get killed, is a pretty good example - it's not really creative, it just wastes time. Having limited lives didn't help either, so unless you memorised the layout of each individual level you'd have to go through the whole process over again. I get that it's supposed to be a frustrating game, and the quotes and general message of the game do help make it more engaging, but it's not really giving me any reason to play it over a second time after dying, and the quotes were too few and far between to really make much difference.

With that all being said and done, I did really like how polished the game was. The squash and stretch, coyote time, the variance in sound effects - all those little things, they did help make the game that much more entertaining to control and move about, and the effect when a block was revealed was pretty satisfying as well. There were a few minor things that could've been better - level transitions, some more feedback when moving, that sort of thing - and the controls did feel a bit too fast for a game with some precise platforming, but overall I did really enjoy how the game felt and controlled, so good job!

Overall, it's a nicely polished game, pretty simple, but it works well with the theme, so great job!

Love the squishy character, good job! :D

Ok, it was a really fun game. A rage game, but a fun game.

But you know what really bothered me?

That you put a Will You Snail reference in one of the levels. And when I try to get close to see it... *PUM*: a red square.

You sir are troll :D

Good Job!

I don't get it lol

amazing game!

the controls felt really good and the squash and stretch effects added a lot

it was just short enough to not get infuriating

good job (:

All the platform aspect flowed really well. I feel like it could be greatly improved with some sort of hint leading to to the right areas so you're not forced to fail over and over. but other than that the platforming felt really good to me, which can be a hard thing to get right.

Yes after rating im adding a big update thats going to make the game more appealing and fun revolving more around skill and managment than invisible rng blocks

Overall, this game is ok.

The gameplay is ok. The visuals are ok. The sound design, the gimmick, it's just ok. You really didn't do anything that stands out to me. That's a huge problem, because no one will want to play a game that's just ok. You need to be great. You need to make a game that stands out. There is nothing in here that's really outstanding in my opinion.

It's not fun to die to invisible blocks over and over until you win. There's not a whole lot of skill involved here once you figure out where to go. And the reset to the beginning if you die too much is also annoying. You shouldn't punish people who are bad at your game, you should try to help them.

I don't really have much else to say. The movement speed is a bit fast. Sorry I didn't have a whole lot of positive stuff to say.

Really cool game and the music and animations are superb!  Although even when you learn where the red blocks and you reset, since it's just white squares it's hard to tell where the red block was, I guess more deaths will essentially fix this.  Also since you have to die, it takes away some of the fun as you just have to die with no strategy until the restart, although changing this would change the whole game so can't do much about that.  It mostly works here though since the sound and visuals are so pleasant.  Really great job overall!

This game has beautiful audio and graphics. The squash and stretch is awesome. Best of luck in the jam

The music choice was amazing. I love how squishy the character was when jumping and I think this game fit the theme very well. Great job!

Really awesome music right there!

Noice, A little hard to get into it but once you get the hang of it ^^ the more I jump the same Level - the better I get ^^ obviosly . I like your Game!

The visuals are simple. The concept is clear. The movement is precise. I died too many times but I really enjoy this game. Very well blyat

I stopped playing after the game reset because I died too many times, it instantly sucked all the joy away.

As the main mechanic: I would've liked either a bit more forgiveness with red blocks you discovered or some way to detect them before hand. It isn't fun to finally make a (for me hard jump) only to die to an invisible block.

The game felt nice to control and I liked the simple visuals. So, all in all a nice game, just not for me

This game, is amazing. The controls feel great, animations are phenomenal,  gameplay is easy to understand, I love this. It's so good, I hope you win!

The player movement feels really nice! the story is good

my only complaint is that restarting the whole game after dying too many times is kinda harsh

I am not trying to be harsh this is just my opinion

it is still a great game overall and one of my favorites from the jam! Good Job

I'm very impressed with the solid game juice when jumping and dying. The sound for jumping should've been for hitting the ground with a more "boing" type sound when actually jumping, that's a tiny detail tho. I think failure is still failure so I'm not sure how strongly the theme is represented, but the game is very fun and requires fair skill. I enjoyed it, the one thing gameplay wise I'd say is that I had no idea where the red squares would appear, it doesn't feel very fair when I respawn because of hitting an invisible wall that injures me I couldn't have predicted at all.

Developer

I am thankful of your feedback but not knowing where the blocks are is part of the challenge since the only way you can identefy them is by failing to them

Submitted

Ah, I see. That kind of ties into the theme that way. The issue with that though is your fail state is reachable by your success state, i.e. dying to reveal the squares, and also dying by hitting the squares. It's a little dissonant. It's a tough theme to create a tight and well designed challenge for, we struggled with it for our game too but yeah this is good stuff all in all.
