Interesting idea!

For me it's looks little strange that fireball spawns near us and not from a player or stuff.

The take of using health as ammo is great. The shooting phase is a bit confusing because the spawn point is not us. Need some polish, but is a good start.

Using your health both as ammo and health is a very interesting idea and could become a quite interesting game.

I like your unique combination of setting. There are the mages with fireballs and a turret, it's magic meets technology and I'm into that.

The game needs some polishing though. I got stuck in enemies and the fireball spawn point is off.

Keep going. Good job!

Simple but good use of the theme / limitation :)

Some feedback:

  • The movement feels to fast and slippery
  • Some enemies spawn on top of the player which leads to some "unfair game overs"

This is a fun concept. I found the strategy quite interesting: generally it seemed best to simply dodge rather than shooting, because the reward wasn't enough to justify shooting, but if you line up multiple enemies at once then it becomes worth it. My best time was 112 seconds. There were a few small things I think could be improved such as fireballs not hitting overlapping enemies, the hitboxes being slightly too big, and the worms being a bit too difficult to escape, but overall it was quite fun. Great work!

112! I can't even manage more than 50 and it's my game!

It was a simple enough use of the theme / limitation and lots of good work was put in here. It is a very quiet experience and it left it feeling somewhat flat. What is here is ok, it would have benefited from polish and omph

Sound effects and music would make such a difference!

NO sounds :(

The player's health doubling as ammunition is a very promising idea.

There were a few issues preventing this game from being as fun as it could be. The aiming was not quite precise--as another reviewer points out, there is an offset. This is a serious problem when it is this important to conserve ammo. Also, enemies spawn in various points without warning. I once had the leech spawn on top of me, and it wouldn't let me go.

I'm not sure if it was my device, but I couldn't get any audio to play.

Game could have definitely benefitted from some music. the key gameplay and art was quite fun and engaging. some more sfx for the fire would make it more satisfying to shoot as would alternative powers (left/right click perhaps). Regardless, a solid entry.

Thanks!

nice concept and cool game :D

Cool Game!

You had the same idea as me :) a second close up attack next to fireballs would be nice as this would give you an alternative when you are low on health and want to kill something.

Interesting game, reminds me of my first. One thing tho, the shooting felt weird, besides that and no music, great game!

Developer

Thank you! I'm not much of a composer so I couldn't make any music, and also something about how gdevelop centers sprites makes shooting a bit weird
