You did manage to make it immersive, I wasn't expecting the sudden change in the screen, lets say.

Nice atmosphere, I liked the post-processing effects.

Developer

Actually, post-processing greatly changes the game for the better

I loved the atmosphere in this one, but the gameplay wasn't that engaging, it's mostly just backtracking to rooms you have been before, a quick teleport after every room would've been nice. Still, I loved the effects and the simple graphics, nice job!

I liked your game! I think the use of the screen effect was done really well, it really felt like a real screen to the point where I was wondering if my screen was that smudged. I think the themes could have been used a bit more, and the hallways could have been shorter, but other than that, I had fun! Great work!

For some reason every time I collect the first big thingy I lose the ability to shoot.

But what I've seen of this game so far is actually cool! I really like the simplistic look of this and the screen bending is just brathering.

The feel might be a little finicky but it fits the simplistic style and is not necessarily a downside. One thing I'd like to criticise is the corridor design. I've only finished the first one because of the bug but walking back through an empty hallway without anything to do can be a bit boring and repetetive if you have to do it multiple times.

Overall a very solid entry and I would like to see the entire thing some day!

Developer

Hmm, I have not met this bug...
But still, thank you for playing ^_^

nice game! simple shapes can also be used in a scary story, great music by the way,  and very immersive gameplay. enjoyed playing ! keep it up!

That moment was scary! It was a creative twist though. Compelling setting with controlling an AI to save a person in trouble in the real world. And seeing the "kill room" label was legitimately unsettling to me. Gameplay felt a little dull to me, but it serves its purpose in the atmosphere.

Very nice atmosphere even if the graphics are very simple + the overuse of post processing effects to make it look good. I can get some people aren't artist and don't want to risk to spend time on that, but some little things could have improved it a little bit such as - as en exemple - trails, particle effects for bullets when they hit something or for the player when he walks, making the enemy squares blinking when they got hit, etc.

I didn't get surprised by the ending cuz your package game is named "scary game" lol, even tho it was kinda interesting to this the story progressing that way.

I feel the effect at the end is a bit too much considering you still have to move to another room to end the level, which is harder since you can't see a lot on the screen.

It's overall a nice experience to go through, congrats on publishing it!

Very unique game, its simple, but with a unique aesthetic that generates tension, and the feeling that anything can appear at any time. The theme is not so well implemented, but its easy to understand. I would have liked graphics with a little more personality, but I think that simplicity is the same personality of the game so it's okay. Congratulations and good luck on the jam :D

A very impressive game. The atmosphere was well constructed, and the ambushes were really effective "jump scares". There were a few niggles. When the dialogue is closed the player also shoots. That immediately sends an amateurish signal, which the rest of the game does not deserve. When getting hit by a projectile, not much seem to happen. Second time around and I checked, and it seems like nothing happens. This can work to make the game not too difficult, but if I had discovered it early, it would have removed a lot of the tension. The purpose of the last red enemy thing was very unclear, and I sped a significant time shooting it with no effect. That part could do with the most work. Lastly, there seemed no way to quit the game without force closing it. But overall, very well made!

On your question if it scared me, I don't know. But it put me in the exact mood I want from a horror game.

If I had had more time to develop during my studies, I might have polished it to perfection...
But still, I was able to make you get that special experience that I intended at the beginning, and that's the main thing :)
