I really like the core concept and how it can potentially change an encounter drastically. I've also enjoyed the writing and illustrations - chuckles were had.

I like the idea behind integrating the tunnel system in the back page of the pamphlet and making it playable, however I think making the "interactive" parts more distinct from the text would make the page easier to parse.

(+) Cool toolkit that allows players to lay out an ambush for hordes

(+) Interesting choices to make on how to plan the ambush

(+) Dynamic roll tables to throw in complications for the ambush and final fight

This pamphlet introduces an ambush minigame to handle chases against larger enemy forces. It’s a great idea, but I think the presentation could use some work.

Having the inside of the pamphlet double as a game board is a cool idea, but in its current version, it makes both the rules and the board hard to parse, and the text imposed over the illustrations is hard to read. I think this supplement could be refined into something really fun, but would greatly benefit from being freed from the restriction of fitting everything on a trifold, e.g. I imagine having a clean map as a hand-out document would work wonders.

Okay so its rough around the edges but I really like the heart of what you have here! If you are interested in spending time on a post jam version, DM me on discord and I’ll write out some thoughts of how to polish it up!

Great way to pack in a ton of information in a trifold! I would love to see a player handout with just the map and no text, just to clarify what the players are looking at.

I like the concept! It's a hard scene to simulate in RPG but I know exactly the trope you're emulating. It is hard for me to rationalize the mini-game in world. I think having a list of "traps" and having a procedure not tied to an actual map might be nice.

Also, I really do like the cover image and the Sergeant. Very unique style.

Larry Hama would be proud! Love the bear-sized wasps!

I absolutely adore this concept and how the pamphlet suggests reskinning it for a variety of scenarios. It's excellent...

...unfortunately, I can't really parse the map that actually using it revolves around, which is a bit of a significant problem. A bit of art/layout cleanup would make this into something I can easily imagine tons of campaigns really benefiting from.

If a sympathetic reader can't follow it, I have to admit that a major rework is in order. Fail better and all that.

  • last stand by putting traps is a good setting  and very cool !
  • i tried, but i still have trouble with the layout, i do get that i have to chose traps and a barrier but the way everything is set op feels a bit like its all over the place.
  • the text itself is understandable and i like the idea of having some spatial troops as well an not just the basic goons !
