Feels like a complete game, with great art and nice sound design. The concept, both in terms of the mechanics and the story, was really cool.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Somehow the 10th customer is easier. The rest my brain glazes over automatically as I unconsciously assume I've gathered plenty of information. I only made it to level 13 on my second try.

Developer

That's interesting! Every tenth level was meant to provide some variation and to surprise the player.

very well executed gameplay ,  coherent art style,  and well dosed difficulty

Omg i love it!  Especially the build-up of the difficulty. I felt bad when i got bad reviews xD

Developer

Glad you loved it!  I spent the last hour making some custom levels for the first 10 to create a difficulty curve. Good to hear it was worth it :)

Clean and simple game play with great use of randomly generated content.

Love all the unique characters.

Souper neat game! :> The generation is awesome, there's just enough different variables to make remembering them all a good challenge! I had a lot of fun playing!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the game and the procedural soups :)

Okay, so the little computer creature is the cutest. I kept disappointing that alien with the weird language, though :(

I love how the palette swap of the cans ties in to the Andy Warhol theme and in the later levels, the game got nice and challenging :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words :) It's okay weird language alien is kinda rude anyway.
Nice that you noticed that the wall of cans was supposed to look like a warhol-esque piece in later levels. That was certainly intended!

Nice graphics! I like the artwork and the color palette! Cant imagine that you made this in paint!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :) This is the palette i used: https://lospec.com/palette-list/funkyfuture-8

For the Game's Name, 1 star. But for the holy hecking infinite soup, my heart can't handle any more. Five stars for each and every possible soup combination. Great concept executed amazingly, you should be proud!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words. Sorry I can't resist a cheesy pun :)

I think the main draw here is the soup generation that gets more and more complex and difficult to distinguish as the game moves on and in my opinion, it work incredibly well here. I was genuinely impressed by the variety of soup that was offered to me in my few runs throught he game.

The tradeoff, though characterisic for a game jam, is that there is hardly any gameplay to speak of. Probably influenced by the time constraints, this plays like a really cool tech demo and therefore, I think the mechanics and fun categories sufer a bit.

Overall a really nice entry and a very impressive demonstration of the concept, I hope you build something perhaps a bit more serious than a soupermarket from this concept!

Developer

Thank you for the elaborate feedback! Glad you enjoyed it. I love procedural generation and never really got to use it in a jam that much. I will probably do a writeup/devlog on the workings of it all. I agree the gameplay is a bit limited but this is all I could do with it as a solo-jammer in 48 hours :p
