Well I was really stuck for a bit because I used the Itch app to launch it and that doesn't launch the command terminal but once I was past that.  This was an interesting game, I think probably one of the first text based games I've played.  Was definitely more interesting than I was expecting, if a bit simplistic in some of the puzzles.

Though the writing for all the objects definitely makes up for that quite a bit, it was pretty hilarious.  Still tho, I want to open the cabinet!!! I tried... so many ways to open that thing.

The art overall is definitely pretty good, there's some areas where I can for sure see that it was done with paint but most of it not really, and it's definitely really nice for the game, especially all the item zooms to give you more detail on each of them.

One gripe I would have on the topic of the "puzzles" though is that while most of the game ended up pretty straightforward for me (I kinda checked everywhere a lot and found stuff) specifically the final task.  That one was a bit annoying.  I'm trying not to spoil it but I wish you were able to just input stuff manually more, maybe more interaction commands and stuff.  Cause it was really locked until I just... found everything.

Other than that a really fun game, with a lot of questions still left for me personally.  So if you get this past a demo I'd like to try and answer them.  Oh and to finish off adding somewhere the "go out" would definitely help.  Cause that one stumped me for a bit until I tried it.

Thank you so much for this super amazing feedback!! We didn't even remember that there's an official Itch launcher (... even though I have it downloaded ^v^;;), and we'll see what we can do to get it to launch through there once we're able to come back and update this!

I'm really glad you liked the writing of it all, it was one of my favorite parts of putting it together - honestly one of the driving factors behind us picking a text adventure as our genre, ahaha. It's funny, most people who've played so far have mentioned wanting to open the cabinet, though I haven't heard anybody wanting to get up to the prize bin (even though that was a feature we had to cut)! I wonder if it's because of the caution tape?

We ended up pretty crunched for time near the end and had to cut out a lot of our original plans for the demo - unfortunately that did include a way to manually enter the code, so we ended up having to compromise with flag-setting! That's definitely going to be something we'll change in the update, since we did originally want it to be manual (and a lot of people ended up having trouble figuring out that puzzle). That next update will also include the rest of the interactive stuff that ended up cut just due to time constraints, as well as some re-structuring of how commands are input / how the player is informed of them, including adding the "go out" command to the help screen ^-^

Thank you again for your feedback, it was super thoughtful and really exciting for us to have some more thorough knowledge on what did and didn't quite hit the mark! I hope you'll enjoy future updates to the game as well! c:

Game crashed 1 second after it starts sadly. :( But I did like the don't-readme

Developer

aw, sorry about that! we've been looking into crashfixes and on the current build, unfortunately our best troubleshooting answer at the moment is to try it after a computer restart since it's worked pretty consistently then ^-^;;
thanks for checking us out anyway though! (glad you liked the dont-readme, ahaha c: )

The best part of these kinds of games is looking for the tutorial online when you get stuck... And since there is no tutorial I had to rough it out on my own which made it much better!

I got stuck in the employee room with the post card. tried leaving the store and such but to no avail. I really really like having the command terminal as well as part of playing the game. And the writing is just so damn funny. As of now, I haven't finished it but I am still playing till I do. Great Game!
