Message from the artist:
I had a lot of fun making this, and it’s probably been my favorite experience making music. As a fair warning, I have no clue how to master, but I did my best.
Edit: it just occurred to me that there is a software company named “Nvidia”. This is not intentional. Oops.
I also kinda went one minute over the time limit at 3AM when i finished so had to do some serious damage control with that, but I still think that it maintains it’s essence, and I like how it turned out.
How does it fit the theme?
The Story
NAVIDIA takes place in the far future, at a point when the human race has transferred their conscience into computer bodies to gain immortality. This works until an anonymous source releases a new software called NAVIDIA, hitting the world by storm. NAVIDIA is integrated into practically everything, until suddenly, a switch flips, and all technology, human or otherwise, becomes mindlessly violent to anything that moves. The only thing that isn't infected by this virus is a tiny robot (whom the player later names, but for convenience's sake, we're going to call him Sparky). Sparky’s only job is to supervise the only remaining humans, cryogenically frozen, and maintain them. They are kept as a failsafe in case something went wrong, which is exactly what happens. Sparky, in a panic, scans the database of all of the frozen humans, and finds one file that mentions the word “computer”; surely this human would know what to do. The file belongs to Eve Walker, a 23 year old girl who died in the 1980’s. Sparky releases her, only for her to be in an even worse state of panic. She explains that she does not know the first thing about such advanced software— she simply played computer games in the 80’s. She explains that she does not know the first thing about such advanced software— she simply played computer games in the 80’s. Despite this, she is left with the responsibility to get Sparky to the heart of the virus without becoming infected, and to figure out how to save this corrupted planet.
Songs
Title : The theme that plays on the title screen. Nothing special to explain.
Neon Streaks: Upon leaving the facility, geared up and ready to go, the very first thing Eve and Sparky encounter is a massive hoard of infected technology, which initiates a chase sequence through the city streets. This goes on until Eve escapes through a manhole at a dead end.
Metro: Dropping in through the manhole, Eve lands inside of an old metro, now used as a junkyard for malfunctioning robots and the like. Sparky explains that The Heart-- The computer currently hosting and maintaining of all human conscience-- is easily reached using the Metro as a shortcut.
Bastion: Eve and Sparky enter the facility, filled with all kinds of armed technology designed to protect The Heart from intruders. In order to access The Heart and figure out how to delete NAVIDIA, they must make it past all the precautions the nearly-extinct human race put in place to protect themselves.
Countdown: Once they get to The Heart, Eve finds a terminal, pointing it out to Sparky, who recognizes it immediately. He claims he has a terminal just like this at the cryosleep facility, and he can connect to this and delete NAVIDIA from all connected technology. However, once he starts deleting, an alarm goes off, attracting the attention of everything in the facility directly to their location. Now, all that's left to do is fend off the swarm as Sparky deletes files.

Some really nice ambient stuff sometimes, and some other really cool heavy lead tracks. It really helps give the right feeling to the game and the different sections. Love the little motif's here and there, like the synth sound from the title showing up again in Bastion. Really cool stuff!
That's quite a story you came up with, and I'm here for it! The overall vibe felt oddly nostalgic for me, like I was listening to some soundtrack I remembered from years ago, but of course not really (maybe it's an implanted memory -- very cyberpunk 😋). It has that "adventure in a techno future world" sound, for sure.
The tracks have different feels to them and yet all form a cohesive whole. I think I could hear some repeated motifs in there -- I actually think you could have leaned into that more and made some of those reprisals even more explicit, especially at the end (maybe they were in there and I just wasn't listening carefully enough, in which case, ignore that suggestion).
The title track and "Countdown" did a good job of setting the beginning and ending tones, respectively. I think my other favorite track was "Bastion" -- it really gave the impression that some cool stuff was going down, story-wise. "Neon Streaks" has a unique style and I like how it slowed down at the end. I liked "Metro," too, but I will say that high-pitched buzzy instrument was slightly grating to listen to for the whole song. Maybe it just needed a little work to "settle" it into the mix a little more.
Very cool work, overall, though. Nice job! NVIDIA Corp. should be proud to be only one letter away from this rad OST!
Thank you! Not sure how I could touch on everything you said here-- I can say that the grating sound in Metro is probably a result of my inexperience mastering music. For me it sounds fine, though it's very likely other audio devices don't process the high pitch very well. I actually can't really hear it through the more full portions of the song.
Overall I'm glad that I at least hit the target on the theme. I was a bit worried when I opened up the jam and saw the theme, honestly. I normally feel like I know how to reply to a comment, but you touched on so much here i dont know where to start. Gonna go listen to your OST now though!
It was fun to follow the story and action while listening. Funny enough the song that immersed me the most is when Sparky is explaining the Heart. Metro totally has battle plan vibes. You also made a lot of music here, each with a distinct vibe. Amazing job!
Very nice, easy to listening background music. I literally had to listen to whole OST few times, because I just let it play and go with the flow ^_^. Good job!
Cool synths throughout. The repeating motif in Bastion reminds me of the Dark Cave theme from Pokemon GSC (which I love). Countdown is definitely my favorite! Great work!
Love how hard you went on the backstory for this! Really fun to hear what these songs represent to you, and to associate the story beats to the sounds.
That lead synth/bass line at the start of Metro is killer, too!
Title - Nice opening. Digging that chord synth.
Neon Streaks - Whee. Fast paced now. Quite like that noisy-synthy-texture you got going on in there. The pad. Ah neat, there's the motif again. Neat little arpeggiated synth there too. Nice electric piano at the end there, and neat little touch bitcrushing its decay.
Metro - Interesting opening. Cool glide on that synth. Quite like the percs too. It all seems to be happening in the high end, but it fits the tune.
Bastion - Bossfight? It certainly sounds combat-ey to me. Nice work. Really like that hard-sync like sound. The one you also solo at the end.
Countdown - It does feel like a story is concluding alright.
Favourite is probably countdown. Though I really like the outro to Neon Streaks.
Great job!
Really solid work! Lots of thematic development and variation, and the sound design is on point. The only thing I'd suggest is punching up the low-end a bit in mastering, but otherwise great!
yeah, like i said in the paragraph i put on this submission, i have absolutely no idea how to master but i bothered to try this time 💀
Ultimately, mastering = EQ + loudness control (and EQ is just loudness control in the frequency domain). You did well! In terms of technique - a multi-band compressor with a bit of extra bass crush and makeup gain in the low frequency spectrum is all I'd really add to the tracks you did, plus a fine-tuning EQ pass to make sure there's no problem frequencies that would mask loudness readings. Then run a limiter over the whole master bus until you get the LUFS readings you're after. (For sound cloud, about 14.5 - 15db LUFS is about right.)
thank you for the advice! i’ll try this and maybe start messing around with those things more in the future.
It's so amazing to hear a collection of tracks that tell a great story! Catchy rhythms and leads to keep the listeners curious about the world you built. Very impressive work!
(I like Neon Streaks the most if I have to pick a favorite!!)
Thank you! I'm pretty proud of what I did here in 48 hours. It was a busy weekend. I also appreciate the comment; it's really nice to get all these compliments. It really boosts my musical ego (maybe a little too much hehe.) i might not have emphasized how much i was impressed by your work too, it did really blow me away for a fourth ever composed track. you have some serious potential. keep it up!
(Neon Streaks was actually the first song I began to work on, it was the foundation of the rest of the project.)
It's really cool to know that Neon Streaks is the first one in the series! Thanks for sharing this.
I hope you'll keep creating these awesome works as well : ))) Best wishes on your future projects!
Love the amount of work put in on top of a great collection of music! Great theming and descriptions to really help visualise what you've put together. And Bastion actually slaps, nice work.
I put a lot of work into the story, because I thought that would really help making the songs, and it did. I'm glad people find it fitting!
(also yes, bastion is my second favorite of the bunch)
I really like the ending part of Neon Streaks, where the instrumentation strips back to just an electric piano, and that glitchy sound. I think it's really neat!
Thank you! I did my best to not make the song feel like it has a climax while also being entertaining and satisfying to listen to, and I'm pretty proud of the dropoff as the chase dies down.
The sonic flavor matches the story perfectly, also the soundtrack works very well as a cohesive unit with reused melodies and synth patches. This could very well be a soundtrack to an actual existing game!
Thank you! I love to hear things like that; "this could very well be a soundtrack to an actual existing game". Seeing as that's exactly what I want to do in the future, it's very encouraging.
and i see you also noticed my leitmotif work as well. i am a really big fan of leitmotifs, so i'll always try to incorporate them in the best ways possible. glad it worked in my favor!
I love the story! Very immersive track with a recognizable theme throughout the different sections. Each track matches the scenes, too. Nice work!
Fun sounds! The usage of the main theme across the OST really makes it feel a cohesive whole,
Thank you! I make it a point to emphasize leitmotifs in my soundtrack work. (i love leitmotifs done well)
The whole submission is great, but I also really enjoyed just a lot of small details and specific sounds. Like, I really enjoyed the swoopy synth in Metro. So fun!
i really like this! you definitely nailed the theme, if I were to give some feedback id say maybe try to incorporate different chords during your song for a "B Section", right now your tracks are mostly loops in their geography and that can tend to get repetitive if a song goes on too long so just try messing with more chords to differentiate sections more in future :)
