it’s a ball eats ball world 😔

Yes, you’re absolutely right!

Because of personal time constraints and a late start, I pretty much had almost 0 time for polish or gameplay improvements, so the player experience is very lacking and confusing. I tried to pack all the necessary info in the intro text, but, of course, can’t expect everyone to read it 😅

Thanks for playing it!

haha, thank you! 😄

thank you very much! :)

Damn, even more Impressive that you had very limited time. I, for myself, started in time, and I don’t think I’ ve ever crunched like this with music, so I can’t imagine starting late :D

Yeah, I like that section a lot myself, thanks for the listening to the track! :)

Thank you!

I haven’t heard of Sly The Cooper, unfortunately, but I’ll definitely check it out now!

Haha, nice, doing and finishing tasks last minute feels really great! I remember the last jam i participated in, I was rendering a promo trailer like 2 minutes before the deadline lol, the render progress bar seemed endless haha

Thank you very much!

Yeah, for the game files itself, i’d split these into sections and fire each up in the relevant situation, that was the plan in general, although in the process I just started having fun making it just as a track to listen to rather :D

Thanks! Glad to hear :)

Oh that sucks, I wish you’ll get access to one soon, that will make the process so much more pleasant!

Thanks a lot!

I have to note, that I’m definitely not a piano player, and most of that stuff is either heavily quantized or just straight up drawn in the piano roll, haha, but I love cool sounding piano riffs and I’ve been itching to write some myself for a while now!

This goes really hard (like, up to 11 hard), and that breakdown gives a nice breather before going back at it again! This might be the loudest track in the jam even :D

(1 edit)

That really is a sick beat! :D

Also, you got a really good timbre in your voice for this type of rap, you know, it has attitude, and that’s also supported by the great mix job, I think!

And that breakdown with the singing was a nice suprise!

In consensus, cyberpunk rap is pretty effin fire, good job!

Also, also, cool cover art! :D

EDIT: I hope that ableton crash didn’t screw you over too much!

Guitar leads and cyberpunk go hand in hand! Nice drum timbre too.

The sneak level track is great, and would fit nicely to a stealth mission!

Oh, and the sax in Next Station is so nice! Saxophone leads like these always make me think of a neon lit dark alley where a small bar awaits their next patron, or something like that :D

Thanks for listening and the kind comment! :)

the FLEX sampler is pretty neat, the little bit I’ve used it!

Real outrun vibes in these tracks, I like the instrumentation and melodies a lot, and the cover art is also very appropriate!

One minor comment - I think the drums in Walking are clipping the mix, especially audible at 1:06, and, checking out the comments, I see that others commented on it too. I think, distortion on drums works very well, especially to add some warmth and girth, just gotta be mindful with it :D

Really interesting overall sonic picture. The combination of samples and effected synths used kept me intrigued through the duration of the tracks. With this in the background I’d definitely be down to play in a cyberpunk world and shoot other people with cyberpunk gadgets!

I love the classical music influences in this soundtrack, combining synths with more traditional instruments like harps, organs and such! It’s an interesting combination, one which I wouldn’t have come up with myself, definitely! Really like the organ + drum combo in Neon Showdown!

Also, general props for the amount of music you’ve done!

This is a really beautiful piece, the piano line is really mellow while the synths add a bit of a foreboding feeling, and after a couple of hopeful sounding chords it gives you that fantastic brass section!

It sounds like the track tells a a great story which I’d love to see realized on a screen!

Guitars are relatively rare in this jam, so always glad to hear some!

The riffs are nice, they keep the rythm going strong, combined with the nice synthy leads, makes for a nice combination. I like the note choice which really fits contextually, considering this is a game about a detective! Well done!

Thank you! :)

Thank you very much! :)

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Up until a couple years ago I was just a guitar player, I didn’t produce yet, so the leads are very, I guess, “guitar-y”, if that makes sense :D

Fun was the goal, although I was nervous to make a more “happy” sounding track, since cyberpunk is more or less a mainly dystopian genre. Thank you for your comment! :)

Haha, yeah, indeed!

Yeah, it taught me more about notation than music lessons in school :D

Oh, that is very cool!

Yeah, that’s what I meant. Sorry, didn’t know how else to express it :)

Wow, thank you very much for the kind words, I’m glad you liked it!

I really enjoy the piano leads with the breakbeat drums! That would work nicely as a title screen track! And that the character themes use similar instrumentation, and occasional motifs, but have their own characteristics, so you can tell they are from the same soundtrack, but convey different things.

Pretty cool game idea you have there overall, it’s impressive that you put in the work to plan all that out!

Nice soundscape, with that vaporwavy intro in the first one! That speedup was quite unexpected though :D

The second track is also quite interesting, jumping off the ideas that the first track established giving it a nice, cohesive feel, where it sounds like a soundtrack and not two separate songs!

The percussions and the bluesy organ licks give a nice touch to the track! Very cool fusion of synth music and more traditional bluesy stuff!

Yeah, I’ve never written music on a deadline before, I think - it’s a whole different experience!

Really enjoying the acoustic percussion with the choirs as a build up, that sets it up very nicely! A nice, cinematic feeling track!

I don’t know why you’re saying that you’re not very skilled, because you most definitely sound skilled! Great, well arranged and well mixed tracks!

Breakcore + distorted guitars! And that sudden switch up into the synth solo, awesome, and then it goes back into a bangin metal drum + guitar riff. What a journey!

Really cool chiptune collection. Nice, unique melodies!

What a great fusion of genres! Great quality of work, considering, this was made in such a short time! And it would also work in lots of game genres not just for the game you described!

Really interesting instrumentation, combining acoustic instruments with electronic ones. The blend works really well!
