Description
Made this with a sort of wave survival/defence game in mind, where you would have a minute or so to prepare your gear and then the enemies start attacking you. So, with that in mind i made 2, 1 minute long tracks. I put them in context on 1 file/video, starting with the "preparation" phase which then goes into the "enemy attack" phase.

Sounds Used:

Most synth stuff is Vital, with the exception of the leads being some old patches i made in Massive a while back.

Dulcimer sound is from rolands JV 1080 VST (this sound doesn't really fit that well, now that i'm listening to this with fresh ears)

The crappy sounding distorted rhythm guitar is a nylon guitar recorded live and then mangled with some effects and an amp sim (tried this as an experiment, which at least to my ears worked pretty ok for backing rhythmic stuff)

Basses are 3 different basses sometimes all playing once, or not. 2 of them synths and the distorty one is the free Modo Bass 2 electric bass with some OTT and other effects.

The drums are a loop, since i felt it fit the vibe.

Spend the first 3/4 of the jam time trying different styles/vibes and ended up with what i have here. Any critiques and other notes very much welcome, thanks for listening and rating!

How does it fit the theme?
I tried to avoid going with the usual synthwavy/retro styling and tried experimenting with playing some rhythms parts on a nylon guitar, and then running that through some amp sims and other effects. I hope i managed to at least get a bit of a "cyberpunky" vibe.

Also, game concept of 1 min prep with constantly escalating music theme before battle sounds really interesting.

Really enjoyed the energy shift between the end of Preparation Phase and Battle Start! The drums really help to provide the push to keep the track moving forward. Always fun to hear electric guitar on a jam submission, too!

Love the combination of gritty synths and the dulcimer. Love that synth melody that comes in around 1:40. Definitely a creative take on cyberpunk. Nice work!

For the first song it's interesting hearing new elements added progressively, and then it's great hearing you really run off with the idea in the second song. I like the dulcimer sound actually - it's crisp and adds something new. It almost ends up sounding synthy in context. Nice job!

I really liked both tracks. The guitar work you did was really cool and you definitely got a unique sound that fit the theme surprisingly well. The tracks also would fit in perfectly for the type of game in the description. Great job!

Loving the crunchy sound here! And the fact that you went slightly Asian is a good fit for the theme as well, since a lot of cyberpunk seems to feature Chinese people for some reason (it's a genre convention I suppose?). Either way, great entry! One of my favorites so far ^^

I really like the overall soundscape, and the bass patches. The guitar works really well in the context!

Lovely buildup! Attack phase could maybe use a bit more oomph in the melody, but still very nice!

Yeah, i agree. I abridged the lead part from the action phase for it, but i made it a bit too boring in the process.

Thanks! The visualizer took a bit to setup at first, but now i have a template in Davinci Resolve so it's pretty easy to make visualizer videos.

If you or anyone reading this is looking to make a visualizer video for their tracks, Davinci Resolve is a free video editor and has a user made plugin which makes it pretty easy after you set it up.

I really like the idea of a survival/defense game, with the two themes. I also really like the choice of instruments; they're unique, but the other instruments make it just cyberpunk-y enough. Good work!

Cool track! Really like how tense the opening half is, and then all those melodies in the second part. This one definitely has a unique feel while still sounding futuristic. *Love* that oriental lead sound around 1:44. Very cool. Excellent!

Thanks! Tried a lot of different sounds before i got to the synths there. Listening to this later, i get the feeling the dulcimer doesn't really fit as well as the lead synths,
