Web version was unplayable. Spacebar kept scrolling the display, and I couldn't find an alternative.

Also, it was super blurry, like you forgot to turn on linear filtering.

Satisfying gameplay loop! Wish there had been some kind of scoring system, but otherwise really good work! If you've got time, come check out our entry, Nokia Explorer!

Nice game. I was first a bit confused what I was supposed to do, but then found that exploding multiple enemies at once was really satisfying.

However, consider adding additional action button besides SPACE, as pressing it always activates my browser's scroll bar. I could play the game on other browser or change options, but I'm saying this as something to consider.

Background music is an obvious note to times when our parents got angry for playing those "beepy ringtones" from our phones. (Or that was the first feeling I got from it). Also, the game loaded much faster compared to other games with similar size/amount of content, which is always a good thing.

Good use of theme, concept is really simple yet fun.

Added a lot of game feel. Which makes the game feel a lot better

Restrictions:
Even though alpha channel might have sounded good, but using it creates other colors. There are times, when multiple sounds are played, which isn't allowed. Also, the mouse...

Other than the restrictions:
The game plays smooth, has a great main mechanic, and is fun. Good job on the visuals, since it's easy to distinguish what's what.

Overall, a fun game, too bad it didn't match some of the restrictions. Nonetheless, enjoyed playing it, great job! :)

just so were clear, the alpha channel isnt alouded, its 1 bit that means one color or another no inbetween (if you want a 3rd color use flicker like my game does to exress). also the game uses a mouse also agest the rules (has to all fit on a Nokia 3310's numpad), and bigist of all is your resolution is not 84 x 48 (very clearly see-able when partials are onscreen).

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, didn't realise I wasn't allowed the alpha channel :/ And the game is in 84 x 48, if you freeze the game then count the particles you can see that it is. You can even check the source code and the resolution is 84 x 48.

thanks for being understanding but you are useing much higher than 84 x 48, you can see particals going inbetween pixels just becose your title screen is at that resolution that doesn't let you off the games resolution being whatever the players screen size is, the jam specifically states that the game has to be 84 x 48.

Good game! Perfect use of alpha channel :)

Good game, i'm not sure about the use of alpha channel in this way (due the limitations of the palette and the screen technology)
