Neat game! I included it in my Movie Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out! :)

Awesome video as always ;)

I hate to rain on the parade of positivity and I do want to note I enjoyed the game with its gorgeous graphics, music, and smooth controls, along with the wall jump mechanic straight out of SteamWorld Dig! (A concept I wanted to see played with further in that game and was pleased to see it expanded here) My only problem with it was the the level design with using the same mechanic mostly in the same way with more arrows feeling like padding and the one hit kills would have been fine IF the levels were shorter so the player did not have to repeat as much at death. Other than that I loved it and I feel it is the most polished experience in the jam! (I have played every game in the jam BTW)

Anyway one thing I do want to mention is I'm going to make a Game Jam Spotlight Video on my favorite games from this jam on my Game Design Analysis Channel Etra Games in a few days! So here's a shameless plug to my Youtube channel if you want to be notified of when the video releases! :

Thanks for the review, I don't mind you giving an honest opinion on what you think of my game. Otherwise, it won't get improved. And I will definitely check out your channel and check that video when it's released :)

Wow, a really great game, and very impressed this was all made in that short amount of time!

The wall jump mechanics felt a bit weird, but I really enjoyed this game. Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot :D You just made my day

Incredible game. The graphics are just excellent, the music very nice, but the best part is the level design : subtile, hard, smart, this is a great indie game. I've loved to play this game as much as I've made the hero die. All is excellent here. Congratulations !

Developer

I'm glad to hear that :)

Fantastic 10/10 I mean jeez... So well designed, drawn, music, sfx. I had a blast with this one. I have nothing bad to say or any suggestions. It was a lot of fun. Great work.

Thanks, and that was an awesome video ;D

Definitely my favorite from the jam so far. I agree that WASD+Space doesn't really work for a twitchy platformer and the jump physics felt...off somehow. But the quick death-respawn loop made the levels really enjoyable.

Developer

Thanks for the review :) And in case you don't know. This game has controller support and if you ask me it's 100% easier to play with

Very nice entry... Reminds a bit of 1001 spikes! Properly designed levels with progressive dificulty. Consistent graphics and good gameplay. It seemed that the character motion could be worked a little bit more but that's complaining about a cherry on top of a really good cake. Very good gameplay. The best I've seen in the jam so far. So I hope you can develop this a little more.

Developer

Thanks bro, I'm currently working on the game right now hopefully I'll have some things to show in the nearest future

Sadly, my laptop wasn't up for the gorgeous graphics this game has. It turned out a little bit laggy, I really wished there was a windowed option, so that wouldn't be an issue. But still, I really enjoyed the game, it's fully fleshed out, the platforming was great, wall-jumping a bit tedious but the soundtrack made up for that. And that last area... gravity defying!

I found the controls a bit too skittish for the meatboy-esque difficulty and level design, and WASD+Spacebar probably isn't my platformer control style of choice. The level design was a bit mean sometimes too with seemingly-hidden wall jump passages that only led to death but I guess that's just the nature of an Indy inspired trap lair heh.

That's all nitpicking though, the game is super polished for a jam entry - all the art and sound were really nice, well done :)

Developer

Thanks for the review, will have this in mind when expanding the game :)
