soo polished and cute, worthy of a non-jam game! it's a nice idea and well executed. I hate to say that because they're the best, but Stanley's movement feels a little bit slow/clunky, but maybe that fits with a (un)dead character. great submission!

Developer

Many thanks!! We wanted the stanley's move to be chunky and slow so you feel better when throwing the head, while stanley's complete body is heavy, slow and resistent the head is lightweight, fast and fragile. that was our aim ^^"

This game was really cute! I liked the art and the atmosphere. I have some notes though.

I couldn't hear any music and I was uncertain if it was my machine or not. If it wasn't I think that adding some music would have added to this a lot. If you are worried about music I recommend computoser, good AI generated music for free.

Also, I liked all the different ways that you can throw your head, but I didn't like that my head would crack when it landed.
I thought the room darkening whenever you took damage was pretty brilliant and overall I liked it. I wish there was a leader-board or a chart that showed how well i did though.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

Although music does exist and plays perfectly on my computer/browser, so maybe it's one of those which is causing the problem (or it could be some kind of bug, we'll check)

Regarding the cracking mechanic, it only happens when it falls from high places, so that the player must be careful about Stanley's health

Anyways, hope you had a good experience! :D

PS: Leaderboards seem like a very good idea, noted ;)

Developer(+1)

Hi! The game has music, at least in more than 6 pcs we've tried physically it has and we used different browsers. Never happened a bug like that so i can tell that must be a problem in your end. You should check and maybe give the game another try ^^"

About the head crack, that mechanic exists so you have to think better on where you launch your head. You'll only receive damage if you fall fast from a high place. Exists to accomplishing the limitation. About the leaderboard... That's a great idea! We hadn't had time to implement that, three days is literally nothing, but of course is a nice idea! ^^

We really appreciate your feedback! You're invited to give the game another try, check your sound and take care of stanley <3

I felt really bad whenever the poor skeleton's head takes damage because of the increased velocity at which it hits the ground. Other than that, a challenging game sort of reminded me of good ol angry birds. Also those buzzsaws gave me Hollow Knight path of pain ptsd.

Developer(+2)

Yes, Stanley deserves no damage! Only love! :'3

And I'm glad you enjoyed it!

All around really good ambience, art, and a neat idea. The map feels like it should complement the interesting mechanics a little more, but feels very in place with the scenery and vibes of the game. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thx! :D

And we're concerned that some level sections the map can look "not that fitting for this mechanics", but I'm glad you had a good experience! :)

This is sooooo Good. I absolutely LOVED it!

Developer

Thank youuu! ;v;

Stanley and us are so happy to hear that :'D

R.I.P! Amazing! Very creative and well done! It was very pleasant to play, nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank youuuuuu! :D

Love the animations, but I got stuck once or twice after throwing the skeleton's head, which made it hard to advance. Look the look otherwise!

Developer

If you could point out the spots where you got bugged it would be awesome, so we could do something with that ^^

Submitted(+1)

For sure, it happened at the first head throw tutorial. I think it may have been the physics of it? Maybe I wasnt throwing the head properly lol

Developer

Okay! many thanks for the feedback! we'll try to fix that right after the jam ends, hope you enjoy the game better if you give it a second chance ^^ and remember that the R key resets the player to the last check ^^

Submitted(+1)

Wow, another one to the top3 list. Congratulations!

Developer

Thank you so much! :D
Really appreciate it

Really cute entry! the character with his little scarf and idle animation was so charming. (Seriously love that idle animation tbh)

The game was fun and quite intresting, specifically the damage system, you cant just wipe your head around all crazy like cause it turns out, landing on your head hurts! haha.

I did kinda wish the body traveled faster, maybe let the player move while regenerating? waiting to regenerate killed the pace a bit, made it alot more slow and methodical. (Not a terrible vibe if this were to be a puzzle game)

I only really have minor nitpicks I could bring up, overall the game is super solid and very fun!

Minor nitpicks being It would have been nice if you could control your head a tiny bit mid air! But tbh its that lack of control that means you need to be careful with your throws. so maybe its a good thing haha

Fantastic work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the amazing review :D

We'll be working on a lot of Quality of Life changes (especially) after the Jam, to improve the whole experience

And yes, the speed of "body recovery" can be a bit slow, specially in the bouncing parts, in which you can spend "a lot" of time, so thanks of noticing that out

P.S.: Glad you liked the idle animation, I wanted Stanley to be doing a lil' dance ^v^

This is amazing. My favorite submission I've played so far.

Developer

Thanks! Really appreciate it :)

Amazing Game!

I loved how the way we are able to understand the core Mechanics from playing the game itself without giving too much information.

Also the effect of the skeleton's body reattaching to the head after the throw was awesome.

Developer

Yes, Elven's work on the "body reconstruction" is just awesome!

And thanks for the kind words :DD

Damn! This is soooo good!

Both game idea and its implementation. I am impressed. Also it works! I mean sometimes there is a good idea but bad implementation. But it's not your case.

Beautiful art and effects and animations. They all work together. Game mechanics besides main one are well implemented. I only wish it was longer.

Also it doesn't work in Chrome for some reason. But I tried it in Firefox and there it works fine. I am glad that I tried it in different browser before go away.

Developer(+2)

Thxxx! Too much nice words ;v;

Also, I've played it multiple times on Chrome and it works for me, maybe is some kind or extension that is not compatible?

Anyways, I'm glad you liked Stanley's little adventure! ;)

Submitted

Really love the fact that you can throw your head, but if you throw it too far, it breaks, I really like the art style and the music, it really fits the aesthetic overall, Good Job!

Developer(+2)

Yes, the plan is to make the player careful about every decision... Also, we have to take care of Stanley!

Glad you had a good time ;)

Submitted(+1)

A nice name to a nice skeleton :D

Submitted(+1)

I love this! It gives some nice Tainted Forgotten from TboI vibes! You two did an amazing job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Hope you had a good time! :D

Physics are bad a little, but the game is cool

Developer

Hi! We would love to have better feedback from you, could you please be more specific on how the physiscs are bad and how you would improve them? We want to make better games ^^

well, it is slow and the player jumps are very small

Developer

Maybe the player is slow. The intention behind the player's low jump is to focus the platforming on the head mechanic. You know, throwing your head as the "real jump"

Submitted(+1)

I really liked it! the only tip i can give you is to lower the luminosity a bit less when you get hit, it gets way too hard to see platforms. The art and animation were really good, I loved how the bones go back in place! Pretty good level design too.

Developer(+1)

Many thanks for those words! Good point on the light intensity, we can adjust that ^^

Submitted(+1)

Love the art style, nice and calm. The game mechanics are on point and easy to understand. Great Job!

Developer

Thanks! :')

This was my first time drawing assets of that complexity/quantity, so I love seeing people like it :))

Submitted(+1)

Rest Stanley, rest. Great entry! Visuals were great (best one so far), but the mechanics were on another level! For me the best part was the horizontal boucing section, I never seem anything like that in all my years of gaming. Well done guys.

Developer

Thank you! :'''D

Stanley will be fine in heaven, while I'm here reading all your lovely commentsl

And yes, paying with the trampolines is soooo fun

Submitted(+1)

Clear presentation, amazing mechanics and great art style. Probably the most unique game I've played so far.

Developer

Thanksss! :3

Can't wait to see what other people have to offer, hoping great entries!

Glad you liked it :D
