Unique level design for a horizontal shooter,  the slow down mechanic was something I haven't seen before.

Solid game, I enjoyed it.

A good horizontal shooter with proper use of assets.

The final level is interesting.

When I reached the final level, for some reason I had a problem once with not moving forward.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

The final level was the last thing I tried to do and didn't receive as much testing and polishing as I would have liked.
As a result of that there are some subtle bugs and edge cases that need fixing :)

Wow your game looks great! It was hard, but beatable. Level 4 gave me a hard time though... I would like to use the arrow keys instead of WASD, I'm really bad with my left hand... Graphics were great

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Level 4 was a bit rushed and not balanced and polished enough but you can cheese it by trying to destroy the "turrets" before they can shoot.

That is actually a good advice offering arrow keys for flying too.
I will keep that in mind for next jams since it's a really easy addition. Thanks!

very polish and well design game. lots of work on details. big stars.

Really nice feedback and visual design. I was going to say something about the game being too easy and then the third level happened...

It appeared to me that I was slowed down, when on the top or bottom edge of the screen. That felt a bit awkward because of the fast pace of the game. Overall however the controls felt very direct and satisfying.

I really liked the music in this game, a cool game.

Another amazing NES looking game here. I loved the use of the music implemented in this game and the art just gave it an amazing feel for the game. For just 4 levels, this turned out to be an amazing gameplay here with a really polished look. The parallaxing in the background was also a really amazing touch to the game. Amazing work on this!

Also, for some reason, I ended up crashing once when playing the game. I'm on Mac and I'm using Mozilla Firefox as my web browser.

Developer

Thanks! I tried to polish abit more than usual this time.

Yeah I am also getting random crashes. Might have something to do with me using the newest preview of godot. I didn't have any luck reproducing it reliably nor getting hints what might be the problem. The code is abit messy too xD

One of the most fun games I have played so far! :D

I think that it is very polished, with a nice looking menu and background, and difficulty that feels just right. I also liked the variety in the levels, such as the meteors, enemy ships and lasers.

One small improvement could be to add particles behind the ship and in the background, to make it feel even more like you are traveling fast (which is does right now also because of the parallax background).

Developer

Thanks for playing and the kind words.

Adding thrusters and more juice was on my to-do list too but farther down and had to be cut due to time. I will consider updating the game though after the rating period is over.

Great feeling of working through it. Almost no raw things are visible and done cool

Very well polished, difficulty curve feels just right, which is rare for a jam game. One of my favorites so far, well done!

SHMUPS are one of my favourite game types!
