Excellent game! Great playability, and the pause concept was rock solid. Nice work!

Yo this is super solid! I expected it to be just a platformer, but its a wonderful mix of puzzle and platformer. Level design was especially great, introducing the player into mechanics without outright saying "you can double jump" in the game.

Great game. I loved how you played with this red lava or whatever it is and made a bunch of very interesting levels. The limitation used very well. Good job :D

I like this game a lot! It’s really fun, looks good, and feels good. Some of the levels had almost a puzzle aspect to them, and overall it felt really enjoyable!

Thank you! I appreciate the comment!

lovely, fun game used the limitation well, congratulations. I really liked it and managed to zero

Thank you!

Very nice game and the core idea resembles my game, so it's great haha!

Developer

Thanks! Ill be playing through all the commenters games soon, im curious to see yours now :D

Very enjoyable game, nice work Ilias. The platformer is nice but there is just a small bug with jumping some times it doesn't work. I think that if you limit the pause ability (duration, times of use) would increase the challenge

Developer

Thanks! and yeah I caught that bug much later after the jam, it is specifically caused my landing on the edge of the platform while facing left. its something im kinda working on. I like the idea of limiting the pause, could also open new level design options. Thank you for the feedback!

You're welcome. Best of luck.

It's one of my favourite mini game in this jam. Almost everything works perfects. Although a little work on tilesets and reset button would be nice :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! and I agree the tileset is just one tile so a wall roof and platform specific tile would have made things look so much nicer. I think I missed the reset button since its really only good for one level but it is defiantly something I should have done. I appreciate the feedback!

Simple and very solid little platformer, with tight controls and good uses of the pause mechanic. The puzzles could have been a bit harder and more original, but otherwise I have nothing to complain about.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! and I may have made the levels on the easier side too compensate for the fact that most jam games ive made have been to hard. But I could definitely have made harder final levels at least, thanks for the feedback!

Awesome job. Really liked the concept.

Developer

Thank yee

For some reason the character is invisible when I tried to play it, so the only way to tell where it was was by the dust animation. I was using Chrome as my browser if that helps. Still I can tell your usage of the limitation is very clear and the sound effects provide nice atmosphere. :) -Haley

huh that is weird, ill have to look into it. Thanks for the heads up!

Controls feel great and tutorial is always nice to have. Overall it works really well

Developer

thanks! I kept the first few levels simple so the player can understand the movment and pausing.

Submitted(+1)

The movement controls feel good, it's enjoyable to jump everywhere with this little character.

I like the use of the pause mechanic limitation, which is pretty well used in your different levels, which seem to be all there to show how to use it, and all the different level design mechanics.

Good work :).

Developer

thank you! I'm glad the movement turned out well, the controller took quite a bit of work getting to the point its at. Although there is a bug I still need to iron out

I don't know what makes him a thief unless the yellow is gold, but this game probably has the best use of limitation!

Developer (1 edit)

thank you! I see what you mean, honestly it is just that he has a cloak. The original idea was to steal gems but I got a bit lazy.

love the game :)

Developer

thanks for the kind words!

Really cool concept and theme! I think having a pause-bar which is consumed on using the pause will give the concept a little bit more of a challenge (or if you want to go more Celeste, get your strawberry-pause collectibles). Personally, the firsts levels are a bit too easy (I felt like playing a tutorial over and over again). Anyway, I think it's a good entry and I would love to see an iteration over this!

Developer(+1)

thanks! And I did experiment with pause mechanics but I just couldn't come up with intresting levels with it. If I was to expand on it the idea of the strawberris in celeste are a really good idea

Submitted(+1)

I agree, this game gives me a ton of Celeste vibes! the game is great and I would love to see this expanded. The only thing is that the time stop is a bit over-powered and can make a ton of the levels a cake walk.

Developer

thanks! If I was to expand the game I would probably have a type of thing that would still move while time is frozen. So the time freeze isn't as much of a puzzly gimick.

Submitted(+1)

Some SERIOUSLY good level design concepts here. Game me Celeste vibes.

Developer

thanks! Maybe it was subconscious I just played celeste for the first time very recently. Its great.
