This was a fun interpretation of chaOS - love the word play. Enjoyed exploring around and figuring out how to finally get a positive score. I postponed my "cafe" update the whole time though... haha

I really love the concept! I had a great experience trying it, the art and the sound design really feels like I'm back using old Windows version. Great job!

I absolutly adore your concept, and the inferface really feels like Windows 98 it's so well done and so pretty! I had issues understanding how to play even with experimenting, but you're solo and I've read than you ran out of time yo it's understandable. It's really enjoyed it anyway, great job!

Thanks so much for playing, I probably ended up spending a bit too much time on the visuals but it was so fun to do.

You did well, the visuals are really beautiful!!

I laughed so hard at this. There isn't much game here, but there doesn't need to be. It's a great experience, thanks!

I take it back, there's more game here than I realized! Double good; I was already content with laughing at the unstable operating system and just messing around with programs.

This is a lot like real life.

Thanks so much for playing and exploring around. Mostly just an experience more than a game so glad you enjoyed it.

a very interesting game

Thanks for playing!

Takes a while to know what to do, but once you do it's a fun game! I loved the idea of having to manage an unstable operating system. The programs randomly closing and pop-ups appearing make it pretty chaotic! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thankyou for sticking with it, the actual gameplay is ultimately a bit thin. Spent most of the time on the visuals and getting the windows to feel right.

Definitely took a second to get a hang of, but once I did I found it really enjoyable. I thought the game looked, sounded, and felt great though I'm not sure it  felt chaotic enough. Overall an amazing game and I especially love the concept of a managing a computer system. 10/10 would play again

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for feedback, Finding the balance was difficult with the chaos, didnt want it to get ridiculous too fast, it does get faster as time goes on but probably too slow.

Really awesome concept, I loved the idea, I just didn't quite understand how to play, even with reading the tutorial. With a more thorough tutorial, I'm sure I could spend a solid afternoon playing with this

Developer(+1)

Tutorial is definitely becoming a theme in the comments, I definitely agree but I ran out of time to get it done. That being said just experimenting with what the windows do should get you most of the way, unless you get the bug where you can't edit text which I can no longer replicate and have no idea why its happening. Damn HTML exports doing weird stuff

Thanks for playing

The game looks amazing and really gives the feel of using a OS. The pallette is also really nice and pleasant.

The gameplay is weird... It really needs a tutorial or pointer to what you do. All I did was dabble in menus, without rhyme or reason nor getting any score, from apparently reaching the target output.

The game also doesn't feel chaotic enough; Yeah you have pop-ups, but they are so infrequent that they don't need to be there. The random crashes are also more annoying than anything else.

So a great concept, but with less than stellar execution... :<

Developer

I agree that more direction is a good idea, definitely would begin there if I was to expand on this idea, some sort of initiation section to familiarize yourself with the game.

The popup frequency is somewhat random and also ramps up as time goes on, although maybe too slowly for a jam game.

The concept is really cool, but your game is very obscure. I ended the game with a score of -3920 without having output any energy because I couldn't find how (and I read every help window I could find). The game ended when I clicked "Scram" not knowing what it would do...

I understand where you came from in regards to the limitation, but I feel like it gets more annoying than anything to have those pesky pop-ups, and that certainly didn't help with the comprehension overall.

I am REALLY impressed by how the game looks though, I had  the opportunity to use Windows 98 and even 3.1, and I felt right at home. Absolutely well done.

Developer

I agree with most of this, I didn't leave enough time to polish up the mechanics to make things more obvious.

It definitely isn't intended to be easy the first time, experimentation is really the main source of progress. But I also made it so balancing it is hard when I know exactly what everything does.

Thanks for playing

I like the concept.

Why do I keep geting negative score ?

Developer(+1)

You need to keep the output close to the target output, too far away and your score drains instead.

Such a fun take on the chaos brief. Could definitely be expanded on to make an interesting progression.

The text input didn't seem to work on the web version, so had to download in order to load fuel.

Developer

Thanks, I had that issue once while testing but then it stopped and I couldn't replicate it again.

That explains why I couldn't make any energy...
