About Gaming Culture

How is your game meta (within each relevant category)?
Our game fits into this metaness category because it relates to how people react to steam sales and eventually just kind of sell their souls to and throw money at steam. This was made as a bit of a satire with a wallet trying to avoid the sale as to save it.

Please list any pre-made art/music/other assets that you used.

Anything you want to say to players before they play?
I swear... we have so many things that we had ready that didn't make it in when we put in all this crunch time. Didn't finish so many things... *sigh*... also, it's my first time with Unity and everyone else on my team's first time doing a game of any kind.

OK, I finally uploaded a video of my playthrough, it can be found here:

Funny concept! I think most of my critiques have already been mentioned. Congrats on your first Unity game!

thanks m8

This was pretty great, it reminds me of the first game we made in unity... I really like the concept and flow of the game.  I think you could use more time for polish and execution as some of the previous comments have mentioned.

Great work!

Papa bless, thank you. I was thinking about maybe finishing in this summer

Good job for a first entry, although the platforming is quite slippery and hard to control and you can get stuck on walls. Wish that there was a giant GabeN that you could fight.

Developer

Dude, originally, that was the plan. The end game would be in Valve HQ and GabeN would have a massive 100% off hammer

Most frustrating game I've played on here so far. XD Might be a good idea to allow the player to press space whilst holding right, and to not make the floor quite so slippery? I struggled to get past the first set of jumps.

Overall, pretty good. The concept had me laughing out loud, at least.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I've noticed that sometimes the jump key wasn't working sometimes. Do you know how to fix it? And yeah, I know the floor is really slippery lmao, I was going to change the physics material but the guy who was working on the levels said keep it so I was like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I appreciate you playing our game SO MUCH. Glad you enjoyed.

I couldn't really say how to fix it without looking at the code, but maybe you have an if-else somewhere for checking the keypresses?

Like if(right){...} else if (space) {...} ?

If so, it might be good to move the if(space) out completely.

Let me know if you get something right?

Developer(+1)

Aight, will do, but it might be a while, I'm not gonna touch the game for a while, I need a break from Unity (I'm totally not 3 days late lmao)

This functions better than a lot of games being sold for money on Steam!

Hah, I think we've all been there with the sales. And I totally get the run out of time thing. You guys did a good job, especially for a first time. The platform physics are a little touchy sometimes and I'd occasionally get hung up on corners, but I can speak from experience when I say it's a LOT harder than it sounds to get platform mechanics perfect. And this is perfectly playable.

Again, well done.

Developer

Hey, thanks man, I really appreciate you playing our game. And about the sales... sometimes you just have to accept you can't catch em all... and also that they will probably be on sale again for even more in a few months :P
